Photoshop Elements :: How To Print 8 1/2 X 11 Cardstock
Nov 2, 2012
I made 8 4x2s that will be place cards at a party. I wanted to print them on a 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock, so I created a new file that is 8 1/2 by 11 300 resolution and white background. When I drag my images to this file it is resized. It is resized to 5 1/4 by 2 1/2. Before, I save the files and use the file place and it does work without resizing, but this is difficult. (By the way my 4x2 have a stroke inside of 75 px for a border. I don't know if this is messing it up or not.
How I might achieve an effect similar to the picture I've attached below. I'm most interested in knowing how you might go about creating this sort of cardboard texture with the speckled pattern. I've noticed a lot of awesome Mobile Apps using this technique and I would love to add it to my arsenal. Would you sample something else or create and overlay a texture/pattern?
I've been spending way too much time unsuccessfully trying to figure this out.. I'm working in Illustrator CS6, printing some artwork on A6 cardstock and it will not center, even though it is centered on the artboard and in the media preview in the print panel. I would customize the media size, but the custom command in the dropdown list in the print panel is not available (it is grayed out). I tried customizing the media size in Page Setup and that didn't work (the printer spits out blank cards). I've tried using the A6 preset size in both the Print Panel and in Page Setup, and the artwork is still offset, or worse. I've tried printer defined settings, no luck.
The main question is how to center that artwork? Also, how can I access that custom media size command?
I'm using 2 different epson printers with the same result.
I have trial version of Elements 11; Also have full version, but have not installed yet, as I wanted to wait until I completed current project. I created/edited an album of wedding photos in the Organizer. I tried to upload album to Shutterfly to make an archival DVD and also make a photo book in Shutterfly. The photos uploaded individually to the Shutterfly print page to print individually, but the album will not upload to My Pictures, it shows the album name, but it is empty. How do I get the photos to upload?? Shutterfly was not sure how.
I have PSE 9. HP 5514 printer. I can print photos borderless through Windows, but not through PSE. In PSE, I have unchecked the box for Border, have checked the Crop to Fit box and Center Image box (and every possible combination thereof). My photo has been sized to 4"x6" in PSE, and I have checked all boxes in the print dialogue for 4"x6". I get a border no matter what I do.
How do I print with elements 8? while attempting to print a message state only 200 dpi of the image will print. What am I doing that is causing this to happen?
I just purchased photoshop elements 11 and I've tried to print more than one copy. The dialoge boxs says the number I wish to print. but it still only prints one copy. Also, I saw a way try and reset this from the welcome screen, but I chose to have it open directly to editor. So my welcome screen doesn't come on anymore. How do I reset this.
When I print a 4x6 picture using photoshop elements 10 there appears a very thin line approximately every 1/2 inch. When I print the same picture using Iphoto the print is perfect. Customer support in India has been unable to solve this problem for over eight days.

I am a long time Elements user (2,5, 8) using a PC. I recently installed PS Elements 11 on a Mac Book Pro OS X 10.7.5 I print from a Canon 9000 Mk II. I have never had printing problems until I installed 11 on the Mac. Prints are terrible usually dark and with a green tint. I have experimented for about a week on one print now unsucessfully trying to solve the problem. Elements is beautiful on screen and great to work with...just not making the trip to the printer. I have used this same printer many times with earlier versions with beautiful results.
Can not print. working on mac osc 10.6.8 in photo 10 elements edit. message says need to install printer. printer is installed. will work if I shut down and bring back for awhile. just started doing this.
From time-to-time, I seem to have had a temporary printing issue with Photoshop Elements 8, whereby the photo I was trying to print would not be printed completely, but part of it would be cut off, as if the printer's print-head would not be receiving the data from Photoshop past a certain point in one particular plane.
Up to this morning, I had never encountered any printing issue with Photoshop CS6, which I have had, and printed with, for the past 6 months or so. This morning, however, I encountered the same issue, for the first time, using Photoshop CS6. It is now printing properly again, but why do I occasionally encounter this with either software?
When I normally print, I like to print photos to exact sizes, but which vary greatly, and so I prefer the technique of creating a new blank A4-sized document and dragging my photo into this document and, by using Free Transform, size the photo to my exact requirements, before printing onto good quality A4 glossy or sometimes matte paper.
What happened this morning was that, using the technique above, I was trying to print a very small passport-sized photo over to the right-hand side of a sheet of A4 paper, with the blank document in the portrait orientation. My photo was only partially printed, and cut off past a certain point in the horizontal plane. By dragging my photo further towards the centre of the blank A4-sized document and reprinting onto the same sheet of A4 worked fine. After experimenting a little by printing the photo in various places on the same sheet of A4, I discovered that the photo was not printing past a certain point, in the horizontal plane, towards the right-hand side of the sheet of A4.
This cut off point was consistent in every printing attempt. There was a certain point to the right-hand side of the sheet of A4, where, in the horizontal plane, it would simply not print past. By measuring this cut off point in the horizontal plane, it is 4.8cm from the right-hand edge of the sheet of A4, in its portrait orientation. After resetting all tools, turning the PC and printer off and then on again, launching Photoshop CS6 and retrying, it seems to be printing correctly again, and I am able to print my photo anywhere on the sheet of A4, without anything being cut off past a certain point.
I recently updated from Photoshop Elements 7 to Photoshop Elements 10 and now I cannot print TWO 5x7 photo's on the same page, letter size photo paper! I have tried everything!
I have Elements 11 and just created a photo album, went to print it and it either comes up with:- Tere was an error opening your printer, Printing functions will not be available until you have selected a printer and reopened any document. or if I get the printer ialogue box to open, then press print it comes up with Could not complete your request because the ICC profile is invalid.
I tried removing Elements from my pc and re-installing it incase I had done something to cause the problem, but makes no difference.
I know that PSE 11 has a template that allows you to prepare a picture directly onto a CD od DVD. The templates are much too complicated for what I need. How do I get to place just one picture & move it a little if necessary?
