Aug 2, 2013How do files become disconnected and how do I reconnect them all?

View 2 RepliesHow can I reconnect the hundreds of images that have become disconnected? One at a time takes ages. If I uninstall and reinstall Elements11, will the program automatically re-populate the organizer?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI backed up my Elements 10 catalog to an external hard drive.I then built a new computer, and installed Elements 10. I then used the Restore feature and restored my catalog to a new location.
Â
All of the pictures came in along with my tags, etc. but all of the pictures are showing a generic icon with a question mark, meaning that they are all disconnected.
Â
When I click on a picture and look at the location, it is still showing the old location, even though I used the Restore function and specific a new location, so Elements obviously knows where the pictures are because it put them there!!!
How do i reconnect missing files without deleting them from catalogue
View 7 Replies View RelatedAfter wiping my hard drive, re-installing all the programs & files, Elements Organizer does not have any of the catalogs or data I have input on thousands of pictures. There must be a file with all the data to reconnect the photos to the data in Elements9.
View 1 Replies View RelatedEven though I select All Files or all the files listed as missing, or even individual files, when I click on Reconnect I get the message "No files selected". How do I get beyond this to reconnect the missing files?
View 7 Replies View RelatedPSE 10 Organizer on MAC OS LION 10.7.5 - Suddenly yesterday ALL of my photos are "missing" according to Organizer. I can view all of the thumbnails, but there are yellow question marks in the upper left of each thumbnail. Click on the thumbnail and it starts searching for the missing file. I have multiple catalogs, and the same problem is showing up with them as well. Using reconnect results in a message indicating the file already exists in the catalog. The physical photo files are on the hard drive, and are viewable using the File Finder and Preview.
Properties points to the correct folder on the hard drive. Nothing has moved. I tried "fixing" and "optimizing" the catalogs, but it says no problems found and nothing changes. I tried adding new photos to the catalog using FILE>GETPHOTOS FROM> FILES OR FOLDERS. The files were added to the existing catalog, but upon viewing the new thumbnails, Organizer says they are missing also. I ran another test where I created a new catalog and added some of the same photos that are already in the other "non working" catalogs. The new catalog seems to be working fine. I have 10's of thousands of photos, all categorized the way I want them.
I have thousands of carefully organized images in my organizer. I moved the files (no I didn't do this with the software as I didn't know that was an option . . i've moved files countless times in the past with no issue). With this move, my catalog is frozen. I can reconnect many of the files. But on random files, the catalog freezes and will not reconnect. I have to restart and try again (which generally does not work). I tried moving the photos back and starting over, but that has not solved the problem. The catalog and software is now largely useless

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have moved a catalog of 150'000 pictures (with associated pictures) to from an iMac to a new Macbook Pro. I used (in Elements 11, same version on the old system) "reconnect missing files" to update the path to the new location. Most files did reconnect perfectly. However, some of them cannot be reconnected. The message I get is
Â
"The files cannot be reconneceted because the file already exists".
Â
The reality is that the same file does not exist. Only an identical named file in a completely separate directory path form another year is present (I use more than one camera and the filenames start all at DSCN001.jpg). How can I fix this, otherwise I cannot complete the transfer of the library.
Moved back catalog of photos from an almost full internal hard drive to a new larger external hard drive. Elements Organizer is now unable to locate tagged photos on the new hard drive. Is it possible to re-connect the photo tagging?

Â
In previous versions, I could easily do this using Reconnect All Missing Files, but Reconnect no longer has an option to delete thumbnails, that I can see.
I have been using Elements 9 for more than a year. Today it started doing something crazy. When I edit a photo (did this using "guided edit"), instead of saving the edited version (in a version set), all I get is a grey screen with an hour glass. When I go to my hard drive, I find both the original and the edited version saved, but it no longer shows up in Organizer.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIn Photoshop Elements 10 running on a Windows 7 (64bit) machine, I have stored my photos on a NAS, the catalogue itself is on my Windows desktop machine. After having renamed the NAS outside of PSE, I can't find out how to reconnect my photos.... The NAS (the old NAS name) is now shown as an offline medium. how to reconnect them?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI seem to have made the mistake of moving several images around outside of Organizer and now they are lost - or disconnected. I've tried the Reconnect feature and after running for nearly an hour not a single image has been reconnected (I need to reconnect over 500!). I've tried to manually browse but where to look for them.   I am a Mac user, and I do have these images backed up on an external drive.   Â

How do I get my images back into Organizer??Â
I am using Lightroom 2. I have many photo folders on an external drive that show as off-line when I open Lightroom. I can see the photos in Lightroom but can not do anything with them.
Â
How do I reconnect this folders that show off-line and have a ? mark?
My 2013 AutoCADÂ file needs to "regen" after just scrolling in and out once. I can't do anything because the lines are disconnected and jagged all of a sudden. This started a few hours ago after I drew a spiral staircase and blocked it. I noticed the lines were all of a sudden not connecting while drawing the stairs though. Is there a command that I might have accidently typed to change some type of format? or unit set up? I have been working on this file since September and this problem has never occured. The lines look fine from far away, but when you zoom in there's a clear separation. My snaps are on and they seem to be aligning when I click, but when you zoom in they're not touching at all. I've been googling for soooo long and can't find an answer. My units are 1/8" (Architectural) and when I check the dimension between the two lines it says it's 0".

View 1 Replies View RelatedIt's my understanding that a change made to a disconnected smart preview will automatically update the main database when connected to the drive containing the photo and database. Mine doesn't seem to work automatically. After reconnecting i have to save the metadata for the changed files on the version of Lightroom with the samrt previews and then read the metadata on the primary version of Lightroom. Do both versions of Lightroom need smart previews installed? Should I use a certain procedure of which i'm not aware? I have an iMac for my main computer and a Mac Book Pro for the remote computer.
View 10 Replies View RelatedFired up LR this morning and the folders all have the dreaded grey ? next to them. When I try to reconnect however, the data drive does not appear. Please see screenshot below -- it only has Desktop and subfolders showing for selection. I can't even see D: from within LR.
Â
I have checked the data drive (D:), it is connected and not asleep or anything. I can see all files in it from Windows Explorer without any hiccups or errors. No changes have been made to system or hardware prior to this disconnect in LR occurring.
Â
My original files are all still there, but I can't reconnect the foldres in LR.
I am running lightroom 4 under mac OS X 10.8. I recently moved my pictures to a new xternal drive. I was able to "find" the first couple of folders but now when I select the question mark with control click by the time i slde the mouse over to the window that opens  it closes again. I have tried decreasing the mouse sensitivity no joy. I have tried other vermin and same situation.

I had a hydraulic hose connected to an elbow fitting and now it has been changed a straight fitting.
What is the proper way to do this so that it is still adaptive?
And how can I reconnect the hose to the new fitting and have it adaptive?
I'm working on a animation with a female model. It's a simple animation which I did with a couple of soft modification points. After that was done, I created the UV texture in Photoshop. At the point in the animation that the soft modification points deform the mesh the texture goes all crazy.
I know why that is, because the UV is projected and is not stuck on the mesh yet. I've worked the wrong way. Next time I will first add the UV texture and then animate the mesh. Now I'm having a duplicate of the model and deleted the history. The UV sticks on that mesh, but the softmodification points are also deleted. So the mesh doesn't deform anymore.
I've tried a lot of ways, but didn't find the solution yet. That's why my question is. How do you copy/reconnect the soft modification points on a identical mesh with a sticking UV texture? It's the same polycount, so I think it's possible. I've tried connecting the soft mods in the new mesh in the Hypergraph, but I didn't know which atributes I should connect. I also tried to bake a simulation, but Maya says he is calculating, but I can't see if it is working and how long it would take. I tried to export the animation and import it in a new scene with the history deleted model, but that wasn't the solution either.
I don't know if my story is all clear, but this i my goal. I want the animation on a model that has the UV texture sticking on it. What is the best way to get there?
How do I reconnect a missing file when it doesn't show on the right hand side?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using Photoshop Elements 10 Version 10 (20110831.m.17215) and everytime I plug in a memory card to upload images it wants to upload every image on the card, even though it has previously uploaded images from that card, even though I have the "Copy New Files Only (Ignore Already Imported Files)" box ticked in the preferences Camera or Card Reader section. This gets very frustrating and time consuming when I have to go through the images every single time to uncheck the images that have already been uploaded.
View 3 Replies View RelatedPSE 12 has a new feature under Preferences/Camera or Card Reader called "Alutomatically Stack RAW and JPEG." Checking this will stack a RAW & JPEG file combination, i.e., when shooting with the camera's RAW + JPEG setting checked. In my case PSE 12 appears to stack my Panasonic RAW files and each JPEG thumbnail shows the right facing arrow to expand the stack. When I click the arrow the arrow disappears but the stack does not expand to reveal the RAW file. The RAW file still exists on the hard drive, but I can't find any way to reveal it in PSE (I've not tried to re-import the RAW files because there are a lot of files in a lot of folders.) This is rather critical and needs to be fixed.
