Photoshop Elements :: Watched Folder Not Working When Opening E11
May 23, 2013
I have "my pictures" set up as a watched folder in Elements 11 organizer. The Services.msc is set to automatic in the "Adobe active file manager". New photos are not being detected when I open the application. I have tried removing and resetting. I have rebooted the PC. This feature was working at one time.
I have all my PSE images in one watched folder (with 88 sub-folders). 60,500+ files. But, PSE (v10) only reports 43,700+. Ideally these two numbers shoul;d be very close. For instance I am careful to delete from the folder also when I delete from the catalog. How do I go about discovering which files in that folder are not in the catalog? Is there a way of listing files in the catalog?
i can't seem to add any dropbox folder (for that matter dropbox location doesn't even show up) as a folder to add to the 'watched' folder? I also can't import from a search in dropbox, I can only do one file at a time?
Is there any way to set up a watched folder in Photoshop to automatically batch run an action on any image that is dropped into that particular folder?
Similar to how distiller works for PDFs.I have Creative Suite Web Premium 5.5 so if any of the other packages in the suite will do the job but I can't seem to find it.A droplet won't do the job as although the processing will take place on my machine - the image may be dropped into the folder by a colleague elsewhere.
Having changed the watched files folder, when I add a file, Elements picks it up immediately. However, I previously loaded a lot of files on e without realising Elements was only watching c. What is the best way to pick up those new files? (I don't think I can delete tham and start again.)
Just get the media from the file, it imports it all then says it didn't import the old stuff as it was already in the catalogue. really should think about this more before I do anything.
On opening Elements 2, foreground color is white but changes to yellow if a file or image is opened. Checked hexadecimal values and they are the same. Operating system is Windows XP.
When I open Elements 9 in Folder Location the images displayed are not those in the highlighted folder. Similarly if I select another folder I see another selection of images from elsewhere in the structure.
I'm new to Elements 10 and I'm having a hard time figuring things out but 1 thing in particular. I'm on a PC and use Windows 7.I already import a lot of pic's to Elements or so I thought.
When I'm in "Folder Location" and click on a folder it doesn't display any pictures and says "No files from this folder have been imported into Elements Organizer. To add any files, right click on the folder and select "Import to Organizer"
So I do as I'm told and then i get this error."Nothing was imported. The files or folders selected to import did not contain any supported file types or the files are already in this catalog."
I just finished importing my photos to Elements, and was going to add the folder I keep them in to my watched folders, to keep them up to date. Since everything imported just fine, I was surprised to find that I got the following error when trying to add the folder:
The Watch Folder service returned an error: Access is denied.
I looked around the site using search and Google, and found a few other occurences of this error, but they all only show answers that apply to network shares. The folder I am trying to watch is not a network drive that I have to use a \serverfolder format to access, as the folder is located on my hard drive under C:UsersusernameGoogle DrivePictures.

Installed Elements 12, converted catalog but now my sub folders are shown as main folders in Organizer folder view. How can I get back my original folder/sub folder system? When I look at Windows folders my system is as it was so the two don't match any more. On searching further came across more info on Community-powered support for Photoshop Family and it seems Adobe have removed the option of sub folders.
[URL] We have a client who are using Adobe Acrobat 9 and have .PDF's saved in a Share Folder. Is the creator of the document but is still faced with the read only prompt when trying to save the document after making an edit (e.g rotating). Upgrading to Adobe Acrobat 9 isn't an option.
Folder permissions in both Share and NTFS is okay. User's profile has full control of the folder it is being saved in. I've also ensured the reading pane is Windows Explorer is off when they're opening it.
Have run a repair on Adobe Acrobat 9 and tried with other documents with the same result.Saving locally does not have the same issue. using .PDF for Adobe Acrobat 9 in a Share Folder environment.
Server is SBS2008 and user's PC is Windows 7 Professional.
I recently upgraded to Studio X6 and downloaded service pack 1. I had this same problem with X4, and was in hopes X6 would eliminate it.
I open a project and I want to add a jpeg image, so I drill down to the folder where the file is located and it hangs there with the little blue circle going around, and no files appear and I get a message "Not Responding" I I must close the program or wait for it to respond, which it never does.
After opening and using photoshop cs6 for a few minutes I get a box popping up saying Adobe Photoshop CS6 has stopped working. "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." So far never received any notifications about a solution. I notice that it closes soon after I try a CTRL T to select an image.
I have a fully current version of Photoshop (ICloud). When attempting to open some jpeg files and pdf files, they remain ghosted and will not open. I think it may have to do with the settings in the 'open' window but i don't know what to do. ?????
I've just upgraded from Video Studio X2 to X4, and I've run into a problem. Unlike X2, which still quite happily makes my DVDs for me, X4 however refuses to attempt coding and shows a pop-up which says the following:
"The working folder (C:usersChipsDocumentsCorelVideoStudioPro14.0) may not have enough space. We will clean the converted cache file. You can also change the working folder path in preferences."
Like I said, I tried X2 again and it's working okay. what's wrong with X4 for this to happen and how to correct it?
I'm getting ready to burn a project onto a Blu Ray disc, and after going through the create disc process and selecting 'burn', I get a message that the working folder may not have enough space, but I can select another folder in preferences. That doesn't work, any path I change in preferences just keeps going back to the folder that VSP chose, and always the same message. I downloaded SP2, no difference.
I have the Creative Suite cs5.1 student version (had it for about a year now), and now recently I have started to encounter a strange bug with Photoshop.
Sometimes when I have been working in PS for a while and then open another file, the photoshop starts acting weird, resulting in the file looking like this: [URL] .....
And if I try to paint anything, it will look pixelated like in this file: [URL] .... and if I use ctrl+z after painting the paint just looks like this: [URL]...... the 2 last named effects will also apply for any images opened before this occurrence, and it happens for any file type.
I have checked my video card drivers, and they are up to date, so that's not a problem (My graphics card is ATI Radeon 5700 series). I've also run a throughout virus scan with Norton without it finding anything.
After install the Orgainzer works but the Photo Editor doesn't. When I click the Photo Editor in the splash screen it tells me my trial period is up. I'm using Windows Vista Home Basic 32 bit
I've created a 23-minute video I want to burn to DVD in VS Pro 5...
At the point where I select BURN in the burning process, I get hit with a message telling me that my working folder path "may not have enough space" to allowing burning. The message advises me to change the working folder path in Preferences to enable burning. The message notes the working folder path as C:Users[My initials]DocumentsCorel Video Studio Pro15.0...
That path does exist on Drive C (where there's only around 5 Gig of space left), but when I go into Preferences to change the working folder, Preferences shows it having a path on Drive F (where there's 1.47 Terrabytes of space!)
So, how can I change the working folder path to Drive F from Drive C, when the project Preferences show the working folder path to be on Drive F, the the program itself claims the path to be on Drive C (and a search shows such a path)?
New to x5, and in trying to burn a simple "test" dvd, I keep getting the popup that there isn't enough space in my working folder -- the popup mentions the working folder being on my C drive, despite multiple instances of my having gone to preferences to specify a different working folder on another drive.
When I double-click a file it will open the file in CS6 version 13.0.1, but then after a while double-clicking will no longer open jpeg or raw files. I can open the same files by going to File > Open in the Menu Bar.
When I am simply opening downloaded files from my camera, I can open 200-300 by double-clicking with no problems. However, at times when I am working on an image, it is not long before I can't open a file by double-clicking. It will open a blank Photoshop window, but without any Toolbar or Menu Bars.
This happens on a regular basis. Sometimes, also, Photoshop is slow to Quit, for no apparent reason.
At my office we set the the survey database working folder for each individual project, but many times the individual working on the project forgets to set the folder to their particular project. Is there a way to set Civil up, so when you open a drawing it also opens the associated database?
Is importing all your text files then adding them to a database good practice? Doing it this way will not allow linework to function correctly, though?
I have been using the same Working Folder and Data Shortcuts since January of this year. My AutoCAD crashed yesterday and ever since then I haven't been able to reset my working folder. When I select the correct folder, one that I have been using for the past 8 months, the program just freezes and will do absolutely nothing for as long as I will let it sit. I even tried selecting a parent and child folder of the shortcuts folder, just to double check I was selecting the correct folder. When I select the wrong folder, nothing happens, but when I select the correct folder, the program locks up.
if this is a setting that needs changed or is a bug of some sort but when i am in an assembly and double click on a sub assembly it highlights that sub assembly and greys out the rest of the model as expected, however if i then right click on a part and bring up the menu and click open it does nothing. It seems as though when i right click, the menu opens and it deselects the part so when i select open it does nothing as no part is selected. I can click on the item in the tree and select open.
My main user folder on the iMac is set to be shared (read/write, including all enclosed files) with my MacBook Pro. The job is a series of one-page InDesign files (they are newspaper advertisements). The IDD files contain a series of Illustrator files with linked PSD files. The idea is that we can both work on the .idd and .ai files in the same folder at the same time.
It's all working fine EXCEPT that whenever an .ai file is opened on the MacBook, Illustrator doesn't know where the linked PSD files are. We can update the link, but when the .ai file is then opened on the iMac and saved, the same thing happens the next time it is opened on the Macbook.
I don't want to embed the PSD files into the .ai files as sometimes I have to modify them and they can be linked to up to 20 .ai files.
G5 iMac OSX 10.7.5 / Macbook Pro OSX 10.8.2 / networked via FireWire cable / file sharing on, laptop user has Administrator status, all files are read/write, permissions include all enclosed files / CS6
I recently have installed Corel Draw x5 and everything was working perfectly fine when all of a sudden it stopped opening .cgm files. It will pop up the message of Corel Draw has stopped working and then I click OK and it closes the program. Every other file extension I have tried opens prefectly fine.
Here are a couple of things that I've done so far:
1. Reverted back to a Default Workspace.
2. Closed out all Dockers.
3. Reinstalled entire program and all features. Updated all patches and Clean booted the PC with only MS Services running. (As instructed by Corel Support)
