If I want to edit most shots in a folder, how do I save the new changes in a photo, then return directly to the file and continue with the next picture? Now, I do changes, hit "done" and then can't figure out how to get back.
View 1 RepliesURL....I am using PSE 12 as a photo editor for Aperture 3.5.1 and the photo is duplicated (as a tiff) in Aperture and PSE editor opens with the image. When I close the file and say to save the file it brings up the save as window.
I tell PSE 12 to "on first save -- save over current file" it now brings up the "save as" window and won't save over the file (changes the file type from .tiff to .tif)
I have Photoshop CS6 and Elements Premiere 11 and both were showing estimated file sizes properly up until a couple of weeks ago, and both stopped at the same time. Using Image, Mode I have verified on both that the images I am trying to save are 8 bit and not 16 bit images. I am on Window 7, 64bit.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI often make a photo into a Smart Object within my file and then resize my file smaller for web. That way I can keep a copy of my original photo at full size but apply color correction, sharpening etc at the web size.
So lets say the image dimensions are 300px wide but that file holds a smart object that is much larger. Is there an easy way to return the file to the larger size without losing my color adjustment layers etc?
I know I can just make it larger but I want to return to the exact size of the smart object without having to open said smart object, record the size and then go back and enter it.
In previous versions of elements, when I exited an image full screen mode, I was returned to that same image in thumbnail. In elements 11, I'm returned to the beginning of the folder in which the image is stored. Is there any way to return to the thumbnail I started with when I went to full screen?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI used to use the 'back' button all the time in my old windows version of PSE organiser. I have now bought PSE 11 for my new macbook and finding that all the reasons I wanted to use PSE organiser rather than iPhoto are fast evaporating with this version. One of them is the 'back' button. If I scroll down down down a long way and find a particular photo and then deliberately or even accidentally, change the view to see data (that incidentally I used to be able to see in the same view on the info side pane such as folder location ....) then I lose my place in the media display and cant get back there like I used to. and have to hunt for the photo again. Similarly when I select a tag to display the selection containing that tag and then want to return to the previous main media display I return to the top, rather than wherever I had progressed to. This didn't happen in my old windows version. I cant understand why the developers would think it was a great idea to remove this facility, but I cant find it. It was invaluable when I was going back through the catalogue to old photos and adding tags or other info.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am finding that going to File>Save Metadata to File is not really needed. I changed some metadata like the caption and notes and I don't choose that option in the menu. I then examine the file in Photoshop, and the metadata has already been updated. The metadata gets updated by itself for JPG files, and the XMP file in RAW files gets updated too without me doing anything extra.
What is Save Metadata to File good for then? Am I missing something?

The print shop wants the image in PDF format to print the flyer. When I press "Save As ..." and choose to save the file in Photoshop PDF, select the image quality, fileformat (JPEG or ZIP), etc, I press the Save button. When I then go into the folder where I saved the file in there that is not there.
Question: When I have a photo open in Eleements 11, and make any change Elemets wants me to "Save As"as opposed to just Save the photo, what this does is creats another photo of the same thing, This occurs when the photo is both JPEG and PSD. Sometimes I just want to save my work and come back to it later not create yet another file. what I need to do in order to just make the changes I want save the work and keep it on the one file.

When I ask to use an external photo editor, Aperture creates a .tiff file in my Aperture folder, launches PSE 12 and tells it to edit that .tiff file. This all works great. When I am done editing in PSE 12, I ask it to save the file and it saves it back to the original Aperture folder with a .tif extension. I can instead say "save as" and then it suggests the file name with a .tif extension. When I correct the extension to .tiff it warns me that I'm going to overwrite the file (exactly what I want!). I say yes and then I find out that PSE did not overwrite the file, but wrote it as a .tif file anyway. I have to go to the folder, delete the .tiff file and rename the .tif file to .tiff and then everything is fine - but what a hassle.

I have a number of PSD files I've created and I'm trying to save them as PDFs. I can Save for Web and Devices, I can save as a .gif, .eps., and every other format I've tested, but I cannot save as a PDF. I get the error:
"Could not save a copy as (filename) because the file is already in use or was left open by another application."
I'm running Adobe Master Collection CS5 with Photoshop CS 5.5 (12.0.4 x64) on a Windows 7 64-bit machine.
I have a 928 GB HD with 697 GB free.
I have rebooted and tried saving the files immediately after I reboot. I have killed my virus scanner. I have killed a number of other possible culprits including Acrotray.exe and CS5ServiceManager.ext
I have run Process Explorer as recommended by Microsoft and found no applications using the file. I've also tried saving the file to my external hard drive and/or renaming the file with only rare luck.
The boards seem to suggest Adobe isn't taking responsibility for this and pointing it back to the OS or other software. How/where to kill whatever process it is - but at this point, all my indicators point back to Photoshop.
I have the student version of AutoCAD 2012 on an HP laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium OS. I originally installed AutoCAD in June of 2012. It worked fine for 9 or 10 months but now whenever I select File/Open, File/Save, or File/Save As, AutoCAD stops responding and the spinning blue donut appears. AutoCAD never comes back and I have to close it from Task Manager. I uninstalled AutoCAD and reinstalled it, and the process went smoothly. However I still have exactly the same problem with the File operations. I apply Windows updates, but other than that have not made any changes to the software on the laptop. AutoCAD works fine for everything except the File operations. I am able to save with CTL/S and am able to open AutoCAD files from File Manager.
