Photoshop :: Merging / Blending Images

Feb 27, 2008

I am using Photoshop CS2 on Windows XP Professional.

I want to create an image from four monotone images to place in a document which will be printed. The overall appearance of the finished image will be monotone (a blue/grey colour) with the four images blending nicely with a relatively smooth transition.

I have created four monotone eps images. Then I have created a new file the size of the image I want to finish up with. This is a cmyk image so I can use the cmyk colour I want to use as a background for the images. I want the images to blend into this background.

I have filled the final image with the blue/grey background colour. I then placed each of the monotone images into the final image on its own layer, using the Free Transform tool to get them where I want them.

My problem is making them blend nicely into the background colour so it looks like one image - a montage or collage. I have achieved a result which is almost acceptable but I have spent a lot of time without too much progress.

Photoshop :: Merging / Flattening Layers With Different Blending Modes?

Feb 4, 2013

I want to be able to take a document, that has multiple layers, inside of multiple groups with various layers having various blending modes applied to them and from within that document, select simply two of those layers, one with a Divide blending mode and the other layer Normal, merge those two layers, but have the visual appearance of the merged layer maintain the visual appearance of what the layers looked like before I merged them.

Everytime I attempt this, Ps takes my Divide layer, reverts it back to Normal and then merges the layers, thus changing the appearance of what it was before the merge. This is not the desired result.

I understand that when you flatten an entire series of layers, it applies all the blending modes and maintains the visual appearance. Is there a way to do this with just two layers instead of all the layers?

Photoshop :: Aligning And Merging Photo's

Jan 10, 2005

I been given a project to align and merge three photo's to make one panorama. And there will be about 300 panorama's. So thats 3000 photos i have to align and merge. The problems I'm having it that the photographer is using an analogue camera outdoors. And i have been manually scanning them

I have tried automated merge and they don't merge. The 3 photos that make the panorama are all different angles. This isn't because of the scanning. Its the photo's i been given.

So i went with a different way of doing it. That is the first photo to make up the panorama, I tried to align all the first photo's in one go with Photomerge and save them as sperate layers. And they won't align because each photo has a different angle.

What I'm asking is a few hints. Is there addon's or something i can use to help me merge them. Or i can align every single first photo and link them, align every single second photo and link them, and align every single third photo and link them. Then all i have to do when I have done that is only use the first layer of each group to make the merge and every other photo will do the same.

Photoshop Elements :: Merging Two Different Backups Possible?

Apr 7, 2013

I've managed to make two different backups and none of them have got all of my photos, are there any ways two merge them?

I'm considering writing one of them over the other, but I'm not sure what happens. One of the other solutions I can come up with is to upload the pictures to Revel, delelig all photos, import the other backup and try to sync with revel again. Will this work?

To make it extra complicated, I want to move all my pictures to a new system.

Paint.NET :: Crop Background Of Cropped Picture For Use In Collages

Jan 10, 2012

Bassically i want to create a photo collage of pics. I have used the Lasso Select tool to cut out my images in the shapes that i wanted and deleted the remaing background. i then saved the cutout image but the issue i am having is that the canvas (checkerboard) is larger than the picture. I can resize the canvas however the images are not standard shapes and the area fills up with either black or white filling.

When i use Picasa to do the collage the pics that overlap are surround with a border; basically the fill between the image and the canvas.

Photoshop Elements :: Merging Old Catalog Into Current One?

Oct 19, 2013

Each time the program saves a file & backs it up it appears to assign to each picture a unique number that isn't on your original picture. This must mean that each picture is somehow linked to the catalog file.  Is this correct?

If this is so does this unique number stay with that photo through every version of PSE?

If this number stays unchanged (providing you haven't modified the photo) is the following possible?

I have found an earlier hard drive that has some partial & complete backups from earlier versions of PSE.  I know that some but not all pictures on these backups are duplicates of my current catalog & some aren't.  What would happen if I just tried to past the older backups into the newer catalog?  Would Windows 7 64, bit accept the data but warn you the some pictures are duplicates & allow you to just paste in the pictures that aren't?

Is there any better way to get these older pictures into the current catalog?

I've tried isolating the head or face using the Quick Selection Tool, and then Image/Crop, but I cannot get a clean edge; it's surrounded by an angular border, no matter what I do.

Is this impossible to do with curvy shaped image elements?

I'm working with PSE 9.

Photoshop Elements :: Hiding Object By Blending In Surroundings?

Nov 26, 2013

Does any version of Photoshop Elements or Photoshop support a feature that would let me hide a selected region by blending in the colors and textures around that object?

Traditionally, people will copy and paste parts of a photo on either side of an object that they want to hide, but this usually results in a discrete line in the area of the object and close inspection usually shows the object was covered.   I read somewhere that some version of Photoshop has a feature that would try to blend in the surroundings to remove the selected object, which results in a slightly more professional result.

Illustrator :: Adding / Merging Non-intersecting Elements

May 29, 2013

I know this was possible in CS3 but since CS4 I think it has been deleted. I'm Struggling with the following:

- Let's say I have 5 elements that are NOT overlapping. I know that it was in possible in CS3 to "add" these together so that you'd have 1 element that was completely editable. You could for instance put an object on top of the elements > use the pathfinder to delete a part, and all previous 5 elements would be edited (because now it was 1 element).

- If I try this by doing this the same way as I used to in CS5, this doesn't work anymore. No matter how hard I try to join the non overlapping elements it doesn't work in CS5. If I do the exact same thing as described above I'll be left with the same 5 elements and the deletion will only happen in 1 element.

Was this something that was altered in CS4? And if so, how do I do it now?

Photoshop Elements :: Keeping Photo Size When Dragging And Dropping Photo Into New Document

Nov 20, 2013

When trying to place an image into a new document in photoshop elements 12, I select all-copy-paste the image (or even drag it) over to the new doc created.  However, when I do this - the image does not paste in at the same size.  It typically shrinks down in size.   Do I have to save the file, close out and then open the new doc and PLACE it in the document in order for it to keep size?  There must be a better way to do this.  Basically, how can I drag a photo that is 4x6 over to a new doc while keeping the size at 4x6.
