View 9 Replies View RelatedI have well over 100 old black and white negatives to scan for my wife so that she can put these old family photos in a scrapbook. She wants me to make these prints look like the old fashioned white-bordered with serrated edges. After scanning the negs and before saving them as jpeg files in photoshop...can someone please tell me an easy way to put 1/4" white borders around each print?

I would like to emphasize a certain spot on a picture by drawing a transparent rectangle with red borders around it. I cannot find how to make the rectangle completely transparent without also making the borders transparent. Also, I find it difficult to be able to change the borders.

there is a possible way that the borders that the 3dface command creats will not be visible. I am attaching a foto in order to explain it better. the red arrows at the foto show the borders that i don t want to be seen at the final product.
In order to make it more clear, i have to say that these borders are not lines that i have drawed. these are lines that are created by choosing the 4 points that the 3dface command needs.
I cropped my picture from the white background and added a black Background and now i got a bright border around my watch
I found a guide via google which told me how to do that but this guide is for PS not PSE and in PSE we not have layer matting (or at least i din't found it) so my question is, is there a way to delete this "borders" from my image with PSE easy way? Or i have to delete them manually ?

I am Using PSE9 if that matters...
I don't have a drawing pad that will send whatever I scribble into Photoshop/Illustrator, so I am forced to use my mouse. I was wondering if Photoshop could 'correct' these poorly formed sketches I make and turn them into nicely-formed shapes.
I drew #1 with the mouse and brush tool, but I want Photoshop to automatically 'correct' the shape so that it will look like #2.
If I import a picture to Adobe Photoshop Elements, the quality of the pictures lowers extremely as soon as it appears in Elements (drag & drop or by open it regularly). The lines/boarders are totally pixeled - why?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm using photoshop (CS2) to ink/color a webcomic attempt of mine, and I'm a bit stuck for how to do the borders of the individual frames. I tried playing around with the rounded rectangle tool, but I have to be honest I dont have a CLUE what it does or how to use it.
I basically need to make a hollow rectangle with slightly rounded corners about 5-10 pixels thick.
I'm trying to make some very simple banners for a website, mainly to a 468 x 60 size. I have my basic banner sorted, with a logo on one side and some text on the other, which I am intending to animate next, but I seem to be stuck on what must be the very basic task of adding a frame or border around the whole banner to a width and in a colour of my choice. I have tried using the rectangle and curved rectangle tool, but can only seem to adjust the fill, not the line.
Can someone point me in the right direction please?
I want to smooth the borders of a very thin shape with pixelated borders. I don't know how to do it properly. The shape is done with a brush.

run a football (soccer) club for children whose parents are in the British Forces, posted out in Germany.I'm wanting to add a border/insert which can hold a bit of information about the player, to action photos i've taken of the child.
I've found an example of what I want (which will hopefully make more sense!) from a player photo from the football team I follow The border/shape has curved edges and it's main area has the club badge, players details (D.O.B. birthplace, playing position, name and squad number)
How to do basic things like creating outlined text or circular text. I'm trying to design a business card and trying to have text along the inner edges to create a border. So far the only method I know is to create sections of text and rotate them individually, but isn't there an easier way that looks more natural? Any methods that can generate a better appearance.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhat is the best way to select round the borders of a face?
I've been teaching myself to do this using the magic wand, but it's quite time consuming - lots of undoing, trying different tolerance settings, zooming in/out, using polygonal lasso to 'add to selection' the deselected areas etc
Because the hair is dark and the skin is light it seems like quite a long process?
So I'm wondering if this is the best way, and how the pros do it? eg Would they just manually draw round the edges?
I am having a horrible time with illustrator .. however I believe it is for the lack of experiance I have with it.
Anyways, I have converted some text into a logo, however is there anyway how I can smooth the text so that it looks less pixilated?
For photoshop, I can put in a rectangle with 70% fill so its kinda looks translucent. But I still want the borders of the rectangle to stay there, how do I do this?
PS: how i center an image?
How do I resize pics and add a border, and possibly a signature?
