I am using the trail version of pse 10 and its great but I don't think I will purchase because of the hard to read text.

Oct 14, 2012I trying to touch up an old photo that has lots of white spots on it. I want to use the patch tool but when a select a section of the photo and use it to patch the patch is partly transparent, you can still see white through the patch. I don't have transparent selected so I don't know why this is happening?

Dec 20, 2012I applied a photo filter to my image (as a layer). Now the Enhance > Convert to Black and White option is grayed out. If it matters, the pencil tool is active. I don't need the pencil tool active for what I'm doing.
When I select the background layer, the Convert to Black and White option is available.
What do I need to do to make the Convert to Black and White tool available on the photo filter layer? How do I turn the pencil tool off?
I'm using PSE9 on a Win7 computer.

I am working for a Publishers, and I keep forgetting to convert the file to Grayscale after running the Wizard.
Wouldn't it have been easier to add this as an option at the end, and have they done this in Photoshop Elements 11 (or later...)?
