I have a landscape photo and I want to change the orientation to portrait photo. I want to save that file to order a enlargement, to put it on my portrait frame. How I do that? I know you can do it for printing, but I want to save the photo as a portrait. I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 11.

1) resize a Portrait orientation image to a height of 800 pixels (constraining proportions) and then “Save for Web” to a jpg with a quality of 24%
2) resize a Landscape orientation image to a width of 800 pixels (constraining proportions) and then “Save for Web” to a jpg with a quality of 24%
How can I create one Action that will work for both Landscape and Portrait images (setting the longest dimension to 800 pixels keeping the other dimension in proportion)?

It's the only tool change in my workflow that I have to use a mouse for and it really slows me down as I'm changing it all the time - but for the life of me I can't find a way to create a keyboard shortcut!
I am trying to work with some artists in mexico with their weaving. We are using elements 11 on vista 7. We would like to change colors in a piece to see if they are pleasing to the eye. Is it possible to change colors thoughout the whole piece at once? Using a brush to paint over each and every area would be so time consuming as their work is quite intricate. If this is not possible on Elements does Adobe have another software that would accomplish this task.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to figure out a way to automatically crop a photo to say 4x6 INDEPENDENT of whether it is landscape or portrait while running a batch script. This is after I have done all my editing on the file (the first thing being that I turn the portraits the correct way).
I can sort (using windows) the file size and that tells me which are portraits and which are landscapes. I then create two directories, move the files to the appropriate directory and then run the crop script (making sure the horizontal and vertical crop dimensions are set correctly). This is a pain and wanted to see if there is some way to automate it without having to parse the files into two directories to start.
I am using PSE10 and I have just upgraded from lion to mountain lion 10.8.2. Previously when I clicked "write keyword tag and properties info to photo" it seemed to just do that. Since the upgrade to mountain lion when I click 'write keyword tag and properties info to photo" it also changes the date the photo was created to the date the info was written to the photo .
How I can get it to write the keyword info *without* changing the date the photo was created?
LOCK ASPECT RATIO NOT WORKING! - when working in LR4.4 - if i have the padlock locked in place and the aspect set to "original" - when i press the left mouse button (keep pressed) and then grab a corner to change the crop from portrait to landscape, the aspect changes to "as shot" but does not lock the aspect. even though the padlock remains closed i can go past the normal aspect and make a square or any other shape, and the aspect has now changed to "custom" even though the padlock has remained closed throughout.

I often, and I mean 9/10 times get one or more fata errors when try to do so.
For clarification I am grabbing the wheel in the top right corner between N and E and rotating the view. When I release the drawing is not in view. Then the program crashes.
It is very frustrating and adding hour on to my day.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have used the photoshop elements 11 for over a year now, and it works great. I have used the add glow settings in perfect portrait many many times. It always gave a bright and glowy image, but a few months ago that changed. I have never changed any of the settings, but one day when I used it it turned out all dark and grainy. The settings are the same, diffuse glow, so I don't understand why the sudden change? I have tried everything, but I can't get it back to normal.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI don't know if this is just a Windows 8 compatibility issue, but when I save an edited photo it is stored in whatever orientation I opened it. Also the thumbnails only show the original imported image, not the edited image.
For instance if I took a picture in a sideways orientation on my smart phone then opened it in PPX5 I can rotate, edit and save and it will show the original image in a sideways orientation. If I post the image on Facebook it will show up sideways. If I put it on a forum it may look okay but people with iPads and iPhones see it sideways.
I've got a series of portrait type images where I may want to change the background. Once I select the image to placing a solid background behind that image? For instance, in this image, perhaps a solid black background would look better. PSE7

I have a number of multi-page docs created in PSE. No matter what printer I select, and despite them being in a standard portrait size/orientation, the print options ALWAYS default to landscape. I've checked the actual printer under "printers and devices", and the actual settings there are portrait.
This is worse because I must actually use the print options dialog box to move manually through EACH PAGE of the document to be printed, and set the printer options to "portrait" on every page. If I fail to do even one page, the entire document is printed landscape, cutting of page contents.
The preview shows each page is indeed landscape until I do this procedure, at which time it flips the page to portrait, one at a time.
Doesn't matter what printer is used.
Also, once printed, if I immediate open the print dialog again, same printer and everything, once again it has landscape.
There seems to be no memory whatsoever for orientation (other settings, like resolution, are maintained during the run on PSE, but are always lost when PSE is closed). Again, in particular, orientation for every page, individually, on each print attempt, is always set to landscape, no matter that the document is not in that orientation.
Is there even a way to specify document orientation? Is there something PSE does to attempt to determine orientation that might be wrong? Can I make PSE remember printer settings, or at least use the system defaults for the printer?
I have a 5" x 7" (landscape style) image that I want to crop in Elements 9. I'm using the Guided mode on the Edit tab of the program. When I use the pulldown menu and I see the 5 x 7 crop box size that I want to use, I click it. But the crop window that appears, is 7 x 5 (portrait mode) rather than 5 x 7 landscape mode. I can work around this by changing my crop box size selection on the pulldown menu to No Restriction, but I'm then just guessing that I'll get precisely the 5 x 7 ratio that I want. How can I change the crop box from portrait style to landscape style so that I can crop my image 5 x 7 rather than 7 x 5?
