I have edited certain photos in Photoshop Elements 11 (using the Expert guide for advanced editing techniques)and for some reason, these photos were converted to a psd format.
Now I cannot seem to be able to upload these psd photos to an outside Photo Album provider. all my jpeg photos upload fine but not the psd ones.
Is there a way I can reconvert them to jpeg?
Trying to use Photoshop Elements 10 Organizer to update date taken and add tags to picture files. Organizer is supposed to write/update the original file properties with this updated/new metadata, however, it seems to be pretty haphazard. I've tried selecting pictures and using the menu option to "Write keyword tag and properties info to photo" (CRTL + W). It processes and states it is updating the files, however, after it completes, you can access the source file in Windows Explorer and view properties but none of the changes (date info or tags) has been updated in the file.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have always used Elements 10 to convert RAW files to jpg by opening the RAW file in the editor, making changes, and then choosing Open Image tab, and then choosing jpg format in the drop down box to save it. For some reason it is no longer an option, I have not changed any settings.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI shoot in RAW but for some strange reason Elements 10 has started to convert the files to JPEG. For example, if I open the file in iPhoto the file extension is shown as RAW. If I then import the file into Elements Organizer and then subsequently try to edit that file it shows the file extension as JPEG! Previously a RAW file would automatically open for editing in Camera Raw so I have clearly altered something somewhere!

View 1 Replies View RelatedI use PSE 12. I shoot RAW photos and use the Organizer to upload the photos from my camera to the computer. The organizer produces a jpg file with me doing anything. How do I turn off this unwanted freature?
View 1 Replies View RelatedPSE 9 does not find the new photos that I add to my windows folders. Previously it had found the photos, showed me the thumbnails and then imported them. It no longer does this. I am using Vista.
View 5 Replies View RelatedJust upgraded to Photoshop and Premiere Elements 12. Decided to use Elements Organizer for the first time starting with a completely new Catalog.
I selected a subset of my photos to just check it out -- a folder with 3 subfolders. I am certain there are zero duplicates in my Windows file structure. After "Get Photos and Videos" "From Files and Folders..." the import occured quickly but all 3 subfolders were duplicated under "My Folders". Photos were also duplicated.
It's not too bad that My Folder shows dupes but the images are considered 100% different between. For example, if I tag 1 photo, the same one in the duplicate folder still needs tagged. I should not need to run a duplicate image search either when the source folder contains no duplicates. This is really disconcerting as I have nearly 20K photos (I scanned every photo my mom and dad took from the past 30 years). Cleanup of false dupes in something that large is just rediculous.
Is this a bug? May-be an intentional function of the program?
Have used previous versions for years but not on this PC. Each time I try to import, it goes through some number of photos, up through 2,00 plus sometimes and then says import failed and I get nothing. It claims the file is the wrong type (only jpgs and psds). I don't know what the stumbling block is or why elements doesn't jut ignore files it can't read and go on to the next.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI work with photos that I put on desktop. I open them with preview, make a copy, and paste them into other software. When I am through with them and don't want to use them again, I usually move them from the desktop to the trash....that's when I get the (?)(missing file) notation on my photo in organizer. Is there a way to remove them from the desktop without moving them to the trash. Using macbookpro os x 10.6.8
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a bunch of photos that are duplicates -- exact duplicates, with the same filename and date taken etc, but stored in different folders.
The Duplicate Photo Search function finds pictures that look the same.
Why isn't there a function that finds photos with the same filenames and date/time? That way you could easily delete the duplicates.
How can I import photos into Organizer in the same order as they are in my files?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI created an file by combining a number of images into a panorama. As is expected, the panorama picked up the IPTC metadata from one of the source images, and saved it into the resulting file.
If I had saved the file as a psd or tiff, I could easily use Bridge or Lightroom to change the IPTC metadata after saving the file. But Lightroom doesn't even read psb files, and Bridge won't let me change any of the metadata (the metadata appears to be read-only).
The only way I could figure out to change the metadata was to use exit tool. It seems very strange that a third-party tool is required to make rather simple changes to what is (I believe) a proprietary file format of Adobe. Or am I missing something?
we write metadata to jpegs and Raw files- saving to Raw database not as sidecar .xmp files. We are no longer able to save the metadata to Raw files. There is no error message, the data writes like normal and the user who writes the metadata can see it but when you open in another computer the metadata fields are empty, however the jpegs do have the new metadata. Was there a setting change at some point? This has been going on for a couple months and I cannot find an answer anywhere. Again, we batch write to RAW+Jpeg, the jpeg files save the metadata but the Raw files look like the data saved but is not visible on any computer other thant he one that added the new metadata. This is occurring on multiple computers, both Mac and PC.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have about 50 images in a LR3 catalog. I modified all the metadata for each. They are all jpegs and were pre-processed by a specialized image editing program before import. I now find I have to replace all 50 with new versions. I really don't want to re-do all the metadata. Is there any way to have LR overwrite the originals leaving the original metadata intact? The file names are the same.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been using Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) with my Canon EOS 30D, an 8 MP camera, for a while now. I would make non-destructive changes to the raw file (.CR2) in ACR where the changes would be stored in an adjoining .xmp file. Jpegs of the unedited and edited camera raw files would be created so I have a before and after versions of the images that can be viewed anywhere.
Now I have a Canon EOS 5D Mark III, a 22 MP camera and the raw files are much larger. I’m looking at using camera raw on jpeg files for some for my more casual photo shoots in order to save disk space. From what I have read, I can use ACR on jpeg files and that the changes would be stored in the metadata in the jpeg file. Is there a way for the changes to be stored in an adjoining .xmp file so that the original jpeg file is not modified, much like it is done with the .CR2 files?
I am using Adobe Photoshop CS5 on a Windows 7 machine. All software is up-to-date.
Also, I have found that Adobe’s camera raw handing is different than the raw handling of the photos using Canon’s software (DPP). Is there a way to make ACR closer to what Canon’s software does?
GPS does not always appear in the metadata. PSE11
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am finding that going to File>Save Metadata to File is not really needed. I changed some metadata like the caption and notes and I don't choose that option in the menu. I then examine the file in Photoshop, and the metadata has already been updated. The metadata gets updated by itself for JPG files, and the XMP file in RAW files gets updated too without me doing anything extra.
What is Save Metadata to File good for then? Am I missing something?
I have a Canon Rebel T3. I switch the camera's white balance depending on the lighting. But when i go to review the files, nothing in the metadata shows what white balance I shot it in. This applies to both jpeg and raw pictures.
It would be nice to see this info so I can compare which settings looked better.
Does Elements 11 show this data anywhere?
Is it possible to print metadata to word in elements 10?
