View 2 RepliesI have several hours of video aerials shot with a JVC GY-HM750U camera. The camera creates a .MOV video file. Great looking stuff but I have some lens dirt showing up in everything. I upgraded from CS5 to CS6 because I saw a tutorial demonstrating how to use smart layers and the dust and scratches filter to get rid of the problem. Still working on the best settings for the filter to best take care of the problem.
But when I exported a test clip in an H.264 or QuickTime format, both rendered files only played part way through then the image froze but the progress bar in the player kept moving. The image changed abruptly to somewhere down the clip and then ended. I also edit all other video in FCP6. When I import the .MOV file into FCP it behaves the same.
Why does Photoshop CC not allow me to edit video's? It say's it is not capable of editing video's in this version of windows. I have windows 7.

I shot some video on my Panasonic gf1. Its a .mov file. When I look at it in bridge, or open it in PS cs6 it only gives sounds but no image. I have updated Photoshop today.
So I guess I have some settings wrong. Maybe I had wrong settings in my camera. What to do? I can watch the video's with windows media player.
Does the Photoshop CS6 (Standard Version) video editor can do the following:-
Steam video from a camcorder Correct camcorder or camera shake . I rang Adobe Customer Services, who transferred me to the "Sales Department", who transferred me to the "Technical Support Department", who in turn transferred me to the "Video Department" and nobody could answer the above questions.
They couldn't even tell me if the capabilities were the same or similar to Premier Elements 10, so how are they going to sell this latest product, when nobody knows anything about it?
Having subscribed to adobe CC I can download video clips but 1.They will not play I am unable to trim the clips. No pop-up display appears when I attempt to trim the clips.

I'm using a MacBook Pro which is fast, but the video editor eats up my computer's speed like tiger.
Ie, set a levels brightness at the start of a clip, and have it transition smoothly to a different brightness value at the end of the clip.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am having problem with my video timeline on my Photoshop CS6 Extended. The timeline shows frames instead of the normal video timeline, my timeline by default is completely different from what I have seen in CS6 Video Editing tutorials all over the internet.
Furthermore, I cant open or drag vidoes to the document, I have tried MPG, MP4, AVI and FLV video formats but it says, 'no parser or file format can open the file'.
comments on this proposed budget computer build for CS6. My budget is around $1500.00 for computer and monitor. I will not be doing any video editing or graphic design on this machine but file sizes could go as high as 200 Mb on some scanned images. My editing is pretty basic and I like to keep layers to a minimum. I am an old timer who has converted to digital from the wet darkroom. Here is what I have come up with so far:
1. Asrock Z77 Extreme4 motherboard $134.99
2. Intel i5-3570K processor $219.99
3. Corsair Vengeance 32GB (4x8GB) DDR3 1600 memory $159.99
4. Sapphire Radeon HD 6450 1 GB DDR3 HDMI/DVI-D/VGA PCI-Express Graphics Card $39.99
5. Crucial 64 GB m4 SSDs (Scratch disk) $74.99
6. Crucial 128 GB m4 SSD ( Startup disk) $99.99
6. Western Digital Caviar Black 1 TB (Data storage) $104.99
7. Seasonic 80Plus Power Supply M12II 620 Bronze PSU $89.99
8. Corsair Carbide Series 400R case $99.99
9. NEC Display Solutions PA231W-BK $518.00
( I have optical drive, keyboard and mouse) Total $1542.99
'm using PS 3 Extended 10.0. I've imported video from Premiere & I would like to edit each frame in exactly the same way. I'd like to use the eraser tool to erase almost everything in the frames. I can do this 1 frame at a time, but there are 160 frames so it would take too long. Also, I want the erasure of each frame to be the same, & if I do it 1 frame at a time, each one will be slightly different. How can I make a uniform erasure of all 160 frames at the same time? I treid using the "actions" command, but it didn't work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI record video tutorials about Photoshop (so, screen captures) and edit/combine the clips inside Photoshop CS6 in Win 7/64; Photoshop's new video talent is nice. I record 852x480px at 15 fps with FastStone Capture and save in WMV. I want to show the finished video tutorial on Youtube. There are several things baffling me when editing video in Photoshop CS6.
My original records (according to MediaInfo):
Software: FastStone Capture
Overall bit rate mode : Variable
[code]....
The result looks very nice when i play it locally in VLC. It looks like the original WMV. But: When i upload the Photoshop-version to YouTube, the video looks very badly "upsampled" and blurred. It looks much worse than the uploaded WMV original. If you like, you can compare the two videos from the same source online:
Uploaded WMV clip, looking good (set player to 480 p): URL....
Rendered in Photoshop CS6, looking bad (set player to 480 p): URL.....I do like the resolution of 852x480 and would like to keep it. If not possible, i have to record tutorials in 1280x720, even though icons and menus look too small. So far i have not tested it.
I searched my folder C:Program Files (x86)Common FilesAdobedynamiclinkmediaserver1.0. There is a lot in it which i don't understand, but some file names include "MPEG", "AVI", "Adobe QT Server" etc. I think there is no Quicktime installed on my machine; i try to avoid it as it does many different things to the system and is obnoxious.
My questions:
- When aiming for a YouTube cast, could i stay with 852x480 (at 15 fps), or doesn't it make sense? (I like that size.) If 852x480 is not ok, what is the lowest resolution for getting good looking presentations on Youtube?
- Why does the Adobe Media Encoder in my Photoshop CS6 only offer the formats H.264 and DPX? Can i get more? (Free, pay.)
- Do i need to install Quicktime? How could i do this with less intrusive QT behaviour?
- Should i record more fps in FastStone Capture? (I don't find more fps necessary when looking at the original and when looking at the uploaded *original*.)
While editing a large video file (one hour), the audio playback worked for a while, but then simply stopped working. Can still see video and edit it, but without hearing the words / background, editing will not be correct. Is there a bug in the software or some way of reseting the file? I have noticed a similar issue with videos in LR4.

View 2 Replies View RelatedCan I edit a video clip in PRE 12 and save the clip in place of the original clip, with the same file name, without going through the Project" program?
View 3 Replies View RelatedCan it actually be done? If I so much as drop 3D file onto the timeline and tag it as 3D (SBS L-R in my case), I get the "... lost 3D attributes..." message when I try to create a 3D file. I tried tagging a 2D file as 3D for S&Gs and got the same result. In case it matters, the files are in .avi format (and even rendering a 2D version of these makes a jumpy video, but I digress...).
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm new to video editing and am using video studio Pro X3, everytime I edit some video or want to use a clip. The trimmed video always flashes the first frame at the start and finish of the trimmed clip. Also when I add a subtitle or text in the time line, that first frame flashes by at the beginning and end of of the text. This is very annoying and doesn't look very good in the project. How can I remove this first frame and how do I prevent it in the first place??
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using Video Studio x2 and I am trying to edit video from my HD camcorder. The video that I am trying to edit is in MPEG4 format and at a rate of 30fps at 1280x720. I have tried to change the properties within Videostudio but when I try to watch it or do anything else, the programme crashes and I have to start again. In the past I have to down grade the format to DVD, and then it works, but at a cost. Does VSx2 support this format or do I have to upgrade the programme to support HD editing? I am using a Laptop with a intel core 2 prossessor and a 1024mb Nvidia Geforce graphic card, which I feel should be enough.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI upgraded to X3 and it will happily load 1920 x 1080 @ 50p x264/AVC files from a Pan HDC-HS700 just fine (and reports the details correctly but as PAL HDMV). As I play these back in native form on my HTPC (and they look stunning) I just want to EDIT them, then smart render them out in the same format.
This is where I seem to come unstuck, as if I choose "Create Video FIle --> Same as First Video Clip", X3 wants to pump it out as PAL, MPEG 720 x 576 @25fps! I can also not find or create a template that matches the specs of the format.
So
1) Can X3 handle 1920 x 1080 @ 50p x264/AVC out of the box
2) Is there a "tweak" like old versions where you can expose additional CODEC settings to handle 1920 x 1080 @ 50p x264/AVC
3) ....if not what alternative software does work with 1920 x 1080 @ 50p x264/AVC (as Pana's bundled HD Writer is very limited)
While using X3, on a Vista 32 bit, 2.1 ghz dual core, 3gb ram, a 7600GT card -- while editing HD video, I get a lot stuttering during playback in edit mode -- often the sound stumbles too, all of which makes it hard to see how my work is progressing.
Checking the task manager, the memory is only about 50% used and processor doesn't appear taxed, so question is, why is this happening and what can I do about it.
I often have the problem that when I am editing a video in Videostudio Pro X5 the clips often seem jerky.
View 7 Replies View Relatedprobably isn't an X4 issue exactly, but when i'm done editing a video file in X4, i'll close the file and insert the next video file to edit. when i go into windows explorer to delete the first file i just finished editing, it won't let me delete it because it says it's currently in use. How to delete it without having to close down X4 to do so?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have Windows 7 and every time I put a song in the project and play it, no sound comes along. It just stays still and after a few seconds goes to the end of the sound file.
Also, whenever I edit a video that has sound, when I play the project, the sound comes all wrong in the part of the edited video. If I did nothing in other videos of the same project, the sound comes good from them. It happens with x2 and with x3.
I am using VS 10 and I have successfully captured all the video needed for this project (DV format). My project is an interview where I used 2 cameras during the recording session. On one camera I used a microphone and I want to use that audio throughout the project for consistency. At the beginning of the session I recorded a timer from my laptop screen to better sync the video during editing.
I placed one camera video on the video track and the other on the overlay #1 track. I moved the overlay clip so it matched the frame of the timer on the video track. The 2 tracks synched up perfectly. How to cut back and forth from the second camera. I extracted the video track audio to the audio track thinking I could just cut the video track and the overlay track and slide the overlay track up to the video track. But, it won’t let me cut the overlay track. By the way, while not an expert,I am also not a first time user with the software as I have made a number of projects over the years.
how to preview the edited shape of videos. It previews the imported version only?

I have a large number of VHS and hi8 tapes that I want to convert to high quality DV.
I have a couple of options. One is an Elgado Video capture system.
The other is a Sony Digital Media Converter Box (DVMC-DA2).
I have tried a few of the less important tapes using the Elgado Video Capture system. It only allows you to convert to MPEG4 or H.268. It is not very good quality, especially for archival items or items I would later wish to edit.
I also have the Sony Digital Media Converter Box. I have heard that this is a superior option. So far, though, I have only been able to figure out how to import using an old version of iMovie HD. This makes a large imovie project file (approximately 6.18GB for a 28:30 clip vs a 348.9MB for an MPEG4 using delgado.
On top of that to convert the file from an iMovieProject file to DV is an additional step that so far looks like will take a half an hour at best.
Is there any way for me to import VHS/hi8 tapes using the Digital Media Converter Box to creat high quality DV files directly? If so, where can I find this info? What steps should I take and what are the settings I should use.
I have a lot of tapes so I want to figure out the right and most efficient way to do this because I will be repeating it a bunch of times and would hate to have to start over again.
I should also mention that I am using a Mid 2010 MacBook Pro, with OSX 10.9.1
If the Pro X3 Service Pack includes dealing with AVCHD Lite video files?
It says "...the update provides: Updated camera support – broadened MPEG-4 capabilities add support for additional cameras, including selected cameras from Flip, Canon and more "
Just bought a Panasonic Lumix DMC-Zs7 wich shoots AVCHS Lite HD video and a lesser quality .MOV files as well. I wanna know if Prox3 can deal with these before I upgrade!! I have Prox2 right now.
