Jul 7, 2013I am having problems downloading clips to my computer. I successfully connect the camera to the USB port and can see it in Windows Explorer. The camera is a Canon Legria HFR 16E. The software that came with the camera(Pixela) does not respond because it can't read the clips (something to do with streaming, I think).
I tried to read in with Video Studio and received the message " Either no video capture driver is installed in this system, or no device is connected". I did successfully download clips earlier in the year but did have this same problem a couple of years ago. This was because the USB Connection Type was not set to "Computer/Printer" I reset this and then the problem was solved. However, this time I have checked the camera and the USB connection type is definitely set to "Computer/Printer" so I cannot think what is causing the problem.

I want to create a file location and tell the program where to put the photos. Right now it is putting them in the right drive in My Catalog but I want to specify a file within My catalog such as My Catalog:2013-12 xmas.

Feb 5, 2013I bought a new, faster, more storage Windows 8 computer.I had 40,000 pix on old computer tagged with names, event, location, date with PE 11. Also several projects involving hundreds of pix.
Carbonite restored all files (250 gig) from old computer to new, and their tech support says they all are on the new computer.I bought the new PE 12 and installed it on new computer. It has only found 4,000 pix. I don't at all like PE 12 after enjoying PE2-11 and managing all my pix with it. PE11 was clearer in the pix presentation.
Apparently when imported to the new computer, I lost the tags that went to events, location, and the person tags did not separate family from friends etc. I can't even find my projects.I was so frustrated with PE12, that I installed PE11, but everytime I try to open the Organizer, it doesn't open.
Photoshop :: Installing Camera Raw On New Computer?
Jun 1, 2012Bought a new desktop today, which is running Win7 x64 Home Premium. Previously was running a laptop with Win7 x64 Ultimate.
I've installed CS5 with the appropriate patches, and attempted to install ACR7.1. The Adobe Application Manager launched and errors with:
"Updates could not be applied. Please contact your Administrator if you wish to apply updates on your machine. Updates have been suppressed by the Administrator."
First of all, is this a Windows priviledges error, or an Adobe App Manager error?If it's the former, I am logged in locally with the Admin account. I have tried running the patch installer "Run as Administrator" with the same result.
Photoshop :: CS5 / Two Versions Of Camera Raw On Same Computer?
Oct 18, 2013I have CS5 and Camera Raw 6.7.
I have Lightroom 3.6 and I want to upgrade to Lightroom 5.
I cannot move to CS6 nor CC.
I will be buying a new camera, with RAW files are not supported in Camera Raw 6.7.
If I install camera raw 8 with Lightroom 5, will I be able to:
- use Camera Raw 8 with CS5
- if not, will I be able to have both versions of Camera raw, 6.7 and 8, on my computer and use 6.7 with CS5 and v8 with Lightroom?
or would it be simpler to just convert the RAW files to DNG and use in both Lightroom 5 and CS5?

May 15, 2005Was just trying to view pictures from my camera in Bridge and more than half of them in this one directory aren't showing thumbnails or EXIF data, just the CR2 icon and incorrect creation date and time (they were all shot the same day, most within minutes of each other, yet they're a week off). Aug 10, 2012I uploaded the lightroom 30 day free trial that i received when i purchased adobe photoshop elements 10. I am now unable to upload pictures directly to my computer because every time i put a memory card in, lightroom pops up and they upload there. Because of this i can not upload the photos to any other program, including the program that i spent $80 to use. I have tried deleting the shortcut, but this doesn't uninstall the lightroom program. I am not sure how to uninstall it because i want it off of my computer.

Apr 17, 2012I've just bought a fluid head tripod and have been practising with it and getting some fairly smooth results. I've been shooting at a resolution of 1920x1080 at 30fps in MPEG4 AVC/H.264. When I watch the video in the LCD display on the video camera or plug my video camera (Sanyo Xacti FH1) into my 40 inch TV the results look smooth. But as soon as I download them onto my computer and watch them in VideoLan or QuickTime, the results are awful. The picture jerks several times a second throughout the panning shots. I have imported some of the clips into VideoStudio Pro X4, and made smart proxies of them and some but not all of them run smoothly but when I create an MP4 HD file in VS4 the results are just once again awfully jerky. My computer is only a couple of months old: AMD Athlon II X4651 Quad Core and Radion HD6700 series graphics card with 4Gb of ROM running Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit. What I can't understand is why the panning looks so smooth on the camera and on my TV (so it isn't due to the small size of the camera's LCD) but as soon as I download it to the computer it looks so awful. I'm aiming to put up some film clips of archaeological sites in Crete on YouTube and I am due to go round the island shooting video but I can't possibly put results like these on the Internet. What could be causing the difference between what my camera shows and what my computer shows?

Mar 11, 2012I uploaded some mono images from my Canon EOS5D(2) taken with an orange filter. Previous uploads have been fine. This time, after showing the mono images in the catalogue they all convert spontaneously to orange images of various shades - and the images also show colours. The camera setting was correct, on checking, for mono uploads and, in any case, never a problem before. What have I done wrongly - and is there any rescue? Lightroom is v2.7.
