Photoshop :: Circles Inside Circles (or Rings)
Feb 11, 2005I'm trying to make a logo. Circular logo with an inner ring maybe 4 px wide and 15 px inside the rim of the outer circle.
Basically I want a blue circle with a yellow inside ring. What's the best way of doing this? The only thing i can think of is: creating a blue circle marquee, and then another (trying to estimate a new circle size and change the color) that is yellow, and then making another smaller blue circle inside the new one. That's just ugly.
I tried the edit/stroke but that just gave me a stroke around the outer circle; it didn't put a ring inside the circle 15 px down.
Also I tried to contract the original circle by selecting it, then Modify/contract. That's got me a selected ring, inside the circle. Now how in the world do I make that little ring yellow? It just remains selected and I can't seem to find a way to color it.

May 26, 2006I want to create the circle look going around a video (screen shot from someone elses video below.) I've tried creating scanlines and using the Polar Coordinates filter, but with no luck. All I'm looking to do is duplicate the repeating circles they've created, and then have the middle lines fade out in the center so the video behind it will be clear (I'm doing this effect in Photoshop but I'm probabaly going to use After Effects to incoorperate it into the video,) BUT the video is visable between each of the lines (again, see the screen shot below to understand what I'm talking about.)

Aug 17, 2002I upgraded to photoshop 7 from PS6. I want to make a simple circle. I use the elliptical marquee tool set at a constrained aspect ratio of 1:1. I've made a new layer. Now I'm trying to fill that circle in with the fill tool but it's filling in the entire background of the whole image. I've never had a problem with this before. Now PS7 wants me to do things differently.

Mar 3, 2008I am trying to create pre-determined sized round graphics for a project that wil be printed out as a sheet & cut for use.
I can get the images to the circle shape, no problem...but the issue is determining the correct size of the circles to be cut. Let's say that I need them to be exactly 1.25", 1"...etc.
Is there a way to create a template sheet of such sizes, then apply the images to be cropped to those pre-determined sizes?
Unfortunately I do not have Illustrator, but I suppose I could open the images in CorelDraw to accomplish this. Haven't tried it yet.
Just wondering if there is a way to do this in Photoshop!

Dec 11, 2007I'm trying to create a white ring that will move on top of a grey ring (for a video). However, even though I used the fixed aspect ratio, & copied the grey ring to make the white ring, with both in the same position; whenever I rotate the top (white) ring, it doesn't line up with the grey ring underneath at certain points, it seems to be not a perfect circle. So when I add the two images into a video editor & rotate the white ring, it doesn't line up with the grey ring below.

May 18, 2007I did this in photoshop, and it was a raster image, but i want to do it in illustrator because i need to enlarge it many times without having to make it lose quality and I just want it as a vector, and would rather have it done in illustrator because I am already doing the rest of the picture in illustrator. If you guys would please let me know how to do this picture in illustrator? I tried making every circle and fixing the opacity, but it took forever and didnt even look right! In photoshop, I picked a solid circle brush, and in the brush drop down bar thing i went to "Other Dynamics" and put "Opacity Liter" and "Flow Liter" to 100%. I just would like to know if theres a way to do it in Illustrator.

Dec 7, 2008I am relatively new to Photoshop, and am using CS3. I would like to be able to create a collage with a background image, with superposed layers that are each an image cropped to a circle or ellipse. I found an article on how to do this with a heart shape using Photoshop Elements. He...using-Elements), but after a few paragraphs, the controls specified there do not correspond with CS3.
Preferably I would like each circle to be framed with a relatively thin colored border, to set them apart from each other and the background. Outside the border, the circular layers should be transparent.
I understand that I can create a simple circular shape that will show up as a layer and have a corresponding path, and that I can make a selection from the path.

Mar 24, 2004How do you smooth lines? Like if I trace something and the lines are just a touch jagged, how do I get them to look perfect? I'm using PS7.
Also, how could I make concentric circles? Or even just a hollow circle? I can use the shape tool to make a circle, but that fills it - is there a way to make it with just a 2 or 3 pixel outline and hollow in the middle?

Mar 7, 2006I have a car image.. but I need to copy it out and into the bunch of circles. And the circles... oh boy. I tried using the Elliptical Marquee tool and made some circles... well it didnt work... I need a bunch of overlaping circles that dont look all too special, but have nice colors and when the overlap some kind of mixing color or effect.
Then I would like the picture of the car to be put in the bunch of circles, make the car colored opposite to the color the part is in. Like a wheel is in a blue circle... the wheel will be yellow etc.
Also I would like the page set-up to be the size a printable page is... so What is the # of pixels I should set it too for the best Printable Paper page ( standard size paper)

May 25, 2013Basically, there you can see a selection of default brushes, and how some of them appear like just small circles, rather than a smooth, hard round default brush like they should. The second one is the one highlighted in the window.
When I use other brushes with my Wacom Bamboo they too look just a bit less effective than they used to. I don't want to reinstall

As I can see on the picture for me the two circles are overlapping, so one of them is over the other. But on the guide I can see all the lines so in whole also that circle, which is under of the second.
what is the way to draw these two circles that both has all the lines?
