View 1 RepliesIn prior versions of PS, if I added a custom profile under Proof Setup, it would be pinned to the Proof Setup menu (along with the default profiles). That doesn't appear to happen in PS CS6.
Is there a specific place I need to save the custom Proof profiles to so that they will appear in the menu?
Photoshop CS6 on Mac.
Edit an image file and get it to where I like on the monitor.Duplicate the file and set the new file to the profile for the printer which will be used, by using View > Proof Setup > Custom and setting an imported printer profile for the printing company that I use.
Edit the soft proof file to get it to where it looks good again. Save off the file for the printer and also save the new PSD file.
Close the PSD file.Reopen the new (soft proofed) PSD file.Still looks good, but.... when you check View > Proof Setup it's now generally set to Custom: U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2 instead of to the imported printer profile which was set previously. WHY???? Where did the printer profile go? Is it supposed to do this?
If I then reset View > Proof Setup to the correct printer profile, the image goes to crap again.
i open or create a new document the proof setup is set to ''working CMYK'' but i want it to be ''monitor RBG'' by default when i create or open a new document,
View 6 Replies View RelatedTo get my images to display with the correct color I have to set the Proof Setup to Monitor RGB, this works almost perfectly, except it won't save the Proof Colors option. I have to go under the view menu and re-enable Proof Colors again even though it should have already been selected. Should this be considered a bug and/or is there a workaround to always have Proof Colors enabled?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have calibrated my monitor (IIyama VisionMaster Pro 454), scanner (Epson 2450 with Silverfast) and printer (Canon i950) so that I get prints that resemble as good and bad as possible what I scan/ see on the monitor. I normally work in Adobe RGB, but I also do some webwork. Which is why I also preview in sRGB or even Monitor RGB.
I would like to use Proof Setup to view my files default in sRGB, but whatever I do, Photoshop always opens default with CMYK. I tried Custom, choose sRGB and then save, but that does not change Photoshop's CMYK obsession.
I know one can easily change the sizes of the New documents by opening the text file that contains them. So I was wondering whether there was also a method/trick to change this default proof/CMYK setting.
I think I understand what View> Proof Setup does in Photoshop. It shows you a preview of what the image will look like with the chosen color space. But here is what I dont get. With an image open choose View>Proof Setup and then "Internet Standard RGB (sRGB)". Now close the image and reopen it. Choose View>ProofSetup again. Notice that "Internet Standard RGB (sRGB)" is already selected. Now, re-select the color space again and when you do pay very close attention to the image. Does it change colors? Mine does and that is what I am questioning. Why does it do that?
When I reselect the color space after opening the file, it changes color. Of course, if I select a different color space than what was selected when I open the file, it changes. I expect that.
I just downloaded PS Elements 12 (using the 30 trail version prior to purchase) and am unable to find the Proof Setup option in the VIew menu to soft proof my images prior to enlargement.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to save a custom artboard setup with a custom document profile in illustrator cs5? I do technical illustrations and our page size is odd (7.19 x 8.96. It the size that our Framemaker layout is set to.). I have a custom document profile that I use, but I use the grids all the time so that my callouts are spaced out evenly around the art. I would like to have a way to set the artboard up so that the grid will align to the center of the artboard everytime I turn them on. Right now they always start from the top left and when I center art in the center of the page, the grid spacing isn't the same on each side of the art. I just want to be able to open my document profile, turn on my grids, have them start from the center, and I can get down to business. As it is now I have to go into my artboard settings and manually adjust the grid to the center. Small annoyance, but it still annoys me. I have tried to save it a few different ways, but nothing has worked. Maybe there just isn't a way.

What I've found is that my palettes work if I have left the blocks in place in the file in which I am creating the palettes. However, if I have deleted the blocks from the file, the blocks in the paletette will not work. Is this normal or is there something deeper?

Why did this happen? Was it failure to SAVE the configuration? Are my toolbars lost now? any way to restore besides button-by-button reconfig?

I would like to set up Autcad so that when it opens, it opens a custom profile.
In the past, I was able to accomplish this by using the autocad shortcut properties:
"C:Program FilesAutodeskACADM 2009acad.exe" /p <<customprofilehere>>
However, now....i have a shortcut that opens autocad up in xm mode and so the shortcut properties looks like this:
%SystemRoot%system32
undll32.exe %SystemRoot%system32VMCPropertyHandler.dll,Launc hVMSal "Windows XP Mode" "||4f5d99c9" "AutoCAD Mechanical 2009"
is there a way to modify this so that it will open the custom profile when it launches autocad in xmmode?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create a window block with a grille. I've created the block and the horizontal grilles. What I'm having a hard time with is creating the vertical grilles. I would like to set up an array that would take the glass width, divide by 12, round up the value to get the number of vertical sections. Here's the code that I've figured out:
(W/(ceil(GW/12)))
W=Width
GW=Glass width
How do I set up an array with this formula?
I would like to create a halftone image using a custom shape in the "Halftone Screen" dialog box. i.e. using a custom shape I created instead of the standard "round" "diamond" etc. Basically what I want to know is - if it is possible - how does one create a custom .AHS file containing a custom shape you created so as to create a halftone image.

View 1 Replies View RelatedHow to create a 3d box in CS6 with custom texture. Before explaining my problem, i saw couple of good 3d onject videos already and i am close to my target but yet not finished
Problem:
I would like to create a 3d product box with custom textures, reflection and shadows. I have my top, front, back and side images in high quality.
My Solution:
1- With my box TOP image, i create the 3d layer.
2- Because it creates the box with the top image looking front, i position it as the top image comes to the top of the box.
3- I resize the box to the dimensions i would like to.
4- Side, front and back textures are missing. As its a custom made box, i can only add all of them in one image so i merge them vertically in a file and add the texture in 3d section
5- With UV scaling, i fit the image perfectly
6- Adding light and reflections
7- Render
Now the main problem is, my images have the exact measures of the real product box and i would like to create a box with these dimensions.
1- How can i play with the dimensions of the 3d box with numbers, such as pixel or cm ? As i can see, its only with %. Or is there an option so when i add the second image (side, front and back, merged), box's length dimension changes accordingly?
2- How can i create 3d box and add different textures to different part of the box? I found CUBE MESH PRESET in the forums but no download link, EVEN IN THE DISCCUSION itself
3- I have a i5-3570 , 8GB Ram, 1GB Radeon HD7750 at work, newly built. I work with high resolution files, and when i create my box and render it, some parts come out blur, why this is happening? At home i have a older PC, and it doesnt happen that much. Where i can modify the render quality or such a thing if it exists?
Photoshop CS6 as of today.I have a number of .grd files which containg "sets" of gradients (no idea how they create thoose "multiple swatch .grd files"). Is there a way I can create one master "favorites.grd" set of gradients where I can pick swatches from the scores of sets I already have?
Also, how do people create the .grd sets that have lots of gradient patches in them to choose from?
I need step by step gradient text instructions for Photoshop WITH TWO CUSTOM COLORS GOING FROM TOP TO BOTTOM.
How do I (instead of using the preset color choices) make a custom gradient? I am trying to create text with a top to bottom gradient of green (#228B22) down to aqua (#40E0D0).
I have tried many times to create custom size documents inPSE 10 without success. For example from the File Menu I select New Document and key in sizes required making any other adjustments. I name the file and close the document. When I open a document to select a custom preset that I have created the Custom Box displays but the dropdown "size" box (where I need to select my preset) is Greyed out.
Seems I am not the only one who is having difficulty with something that is normally straightforward and I wonder if the problem is down to an oversight or bug.

I have reviewed a couple of videos on how to create a watermark "stamp" by using the define brush option. However after following all of the instructions up to the point where I am supposed to select the area to define I can go no further. It says to select the image/text and then go to edit -> define brush. When I do this the define brush option is faint and I cannot select it. The videos all appear to be done using Elements 11 or earlier. It this a glitch with 12?
