Photoshop :: CMYK Values Constantly Changing?

Nov 30, 2012

I have a client who asked for a SPECIFIC shade of blue which happens to be 100,70,0,0. Now I know my screen will never show the exact color, always shows lighter. This part is ok. But I go and change the values on the color picker, and then 10 minutes later when I come back to it, the values changed to 95,65,1,0. Why would this happen, it KEEPS happening and not just one one color, on ALL OF THEM, it just changes the numbers slightly fromw hat I put in.

Illustrator :: Changing Values Inside RGB And CMYK Boxes

Mar 10, 2014

I am struggling to understand why Illustrator is changing the values inside the RGB and CMYK boxes. I am also not sure of the exact relationship between these vaues. Essentially, it appears that if you set the Document Color Mode to RGB, it leaves the RGB values that you type in alone. If you set the Document Color Mode to CMYK, it leaves the CMYK values alone.

But as soon as you change the Color Mode, it automatically modifies the values. So if you were in RGB mode and you set some RGB values, it changes those RGB values when you switch to CMYK mode. And vice versa.

I had thought that the CMYK palette was a subset of the RGB palette. It would make sense to me if it did this when I switched from RGB to CMYK mode, but it doesn't make sense to me why it does this when I switch from CMYK to RGB mode.

The other thing I am confused about is the relationship of the values in the RGB boxes to the values in the CMYK boxes. I would have thought that the relationship between them would be static. Actually, it is not. When I am in CMYK mode and I enter a CMYK value of 90 16 0 0, the RGB values become 0 158 222. But when I switch over to RGB mode, the RGB values of 0 158 222 result in CMYK values of 75 23 0 0.

Photoshop :: CMYK Color Values Change Unexpectedly

Jul 16, 2013

I'm working in Photoshop CS 5.5 on a Mac, and I want to apply a specific CMYK color to a selection in an image. I create the color with the values C=0, M=100, Y=100, K=10 and add it to my color swatches. Then I select the section of the image where I want to apply the new color and fill it with the paint bucket. The color fills the section just fine and life is good. But then when I roll over the section with the eyedropper to double-check the CMYK values in the Info window, it shows that they've inexplicably shifted to C=9, M=100, Y=100, K=1.

AutoCAD Map 3D :: Color Values Cmyk To 256

Jun 19, 2013

I have a file from a client that has a table with the color values recorded as CMYK. (e.g.  50, 0, 10, 0)

I'd like to display the colors but I can only figure out how to do it if it's in the 256 color format.  Is there a way for me to convert CMYK color values to a 256 color value.  I realize the hues/colors won't be perfect, and I'll be happy with colors close to what the original data was using.  Maybe there's a way to go from CMYK to RGB, and then to 246?

Illustrator :: How To Change Color To Rich Black By Manually Entering CMYK Values

Jan 18, 2014

I've had this problem before, and it randomly popped up again today.

This time restarting Ai fixed the issue the first time.  I just don't know if this was human-error/setting on my end, or a minor bug to report.

So I create a CMYK Ai doc.  Create some black text and/or shapes.  Then decide to change color to rich black by manually entering CMYK values (in this case, 60, 40, 40, 90), select ok.  However, the colors revert back to original percentages (75, 68, 67, 90).

In past versions, it's happened once or twice, and restarting Ai didn't solve the first time.

Illustrator :: Changing Color Modes From RGB To CMYK?

Feb 25, 2014

I am editing a file for a Realestate customer of mine. For some reason her previous designer didn't understand to make print material in cmyk ( I cant believe how many "designers" dont understand the difference.). I am now going back and correcting that issue so they will print accuratly. Usually I can do this in Illustrator and just go to the edit menu and then go to edit colors and choose convert to cmyk. That option is greyed out in this situation. I am attaching a screen shot. I am using illustrator cs6 on a mac running 10.7.5.

Illustrator :: CMYK Color Numbers Changing When Set To Preserve Them?

May 7, 2009

I'm using CS2 on Mac OSX 10.4. Recently I tried importing a Photoshop image into Illustrator and then matching a color in Illustrator to a color in the Photoshop document. But Illustrator changed the CMYK values of the color in the Photoshop document even though I have "Preserve CMYK colors" checked in the color setup window. Both applications and files are set to SWOP v2.

I don't have the same problem when placing either Photoshop or Illustrator files into InDesign.

I ended up recreating the project in InDesign to get consistent color, but I need to know how to make Illustrator preserve color numbers for the project that will come up for which I need Illustrator features.

Photoshop :: Blacks To Specific Cmyk Values

Apr 14, 2008

I have line drawings in a layout that I scanned in. I'd like them to be the same or close to the black cmyk value of the text in the document. I'm not sure how to accomplish this. I tried channel adjustment and replace color,

putting in the specific value I wanted (I read that c50 m40 y40 k100 was a good black for print), but nothing seems to work correctly. I would like to keep some kind of greyscale value (not make everything black), but I want the darkest shade to be that specific cmyk value. How do I do this?

Photoshop :: Spot Colors Do Not Hold CMYK Values

Dec 19, 2012

When placing a .psd file with a spot channel into illustrator, and then later copying this and pasting back into Photoshop the color shifts.

Original Photoshop spot color channel (0/100/81/16)
Color after pasting back into Photoshop (13/99/88/4)

We are making renders of packaging, so the designs are from illustrator. We correct this by removing the Photoshop spot channel and recreating this as a CMYK layer, but looking to avoid this step as we do many many renders. Even with assign color profile set to none this happens.

Viewing Photoshop channels you can see a difference in values between the linked image and illustrator flat tint.

Illustrator Scripting :: Convert RGB Value To CMYK Values

Mar 26, 2013

I want a script that can convert RGB value to CMYK values.

I've seen this thread which explains a script to round up and down:

[URL].....

but is there a script that i can actually define lets say the colour is yellow and in RGB it looks ok because its in RGB mode so you change it to CMYK and you have 6% - 9% cyan and you only want yellow

is there a script out there that i can say

if

cyan = 6%
yellow = 80%
magenta = 0%
black = 0%

then change to

cyan = 0%
yellow = 80&
mangenta = 0%
black = 0%

I don't mind writting the code for each colour that needs to be converted as it would only need defining once but how would i make this script?

For example, Pantone 2685C converted to process in the both applications yields:

(CS5)  C-96, M-100, Y-0, K-10
(CS6)  C-90.73, M-100, Y-30.6, K-16.54

Illustrator :: CMYK Values Of Imported Image Don't Match?

Mar 24, 2013

I made a simple poster using photoshop to make the background and illustrator to make the fonts and some other stuff. In CMYK my black is just 100% K ( in photoshop)

 When placing image in illustrator the 100% K (black) changes to different black with C M Y added. But then when I save it as PDF the preview shows black as a bit grey (which is something normal- in print it will be just black). So my question is .. should I change enything just to be able to see a 100% K in illustrator in order to match CMYK values of Photoshop? Or should I leave it this way? I guess if I am getting a "grey" in PDF preview is something good isn'it? because in photoshop when I set to 100%K in my screeen it looks like grey and not total black.

Photoshop :: Changing CMYK Graphic To Duotone

Jun 12, 2008

I have a 2-color logo that is in TIFF format but was created as CMYK. It is black and Pantone 323. I am using it in a two-color job and need it to be in the 2 spot colors. I changed it to grayscale and then changed it to duotone, but the colored part shows up pretty muddy and dark looking, like it has too much black in it. I have tried changing the curves but that doesn't seem to help much. If it is duotone and the colors are specified to the printer, will it print correctly, even though it looks yucky onscreen?

Photoshop :: Which Color Mode In CS4 Is Best To Use For 2-color Project / Grayscale Or CMYK

In a new psd "montage"  file, I plan to place each photo on its own layer, adjust tints, transparency, etc, to  create one new montage/flattened.I'm not sure which color mode is best when setting up this new file, CMYK or grayscale?

Once the PS  doc is done, the job will be saved as a PDF for 2-color printing.I want to insure the 2 pantone colors separate properly at press.

Photoshop :: Changing CMYK Black Of Background Of Photo

After converting it to CMYK and using the channel mixer to return to the original brilliance, the black is CMYK 100-92-85-98. This is obviously too long of a black... way too much ink... using thin white fonts over it prints terrible, etc. How do I adjust the black of the image to something more favorable to printing, like 60-40-40-100?

Photoshop :: Randomly Changing Text Size Values In CS6 Extended

whenever I drag-click the cursor to change the text size value, the input option randomly increases by an also random number of millimeters, suddenly blowing up the size of the text. It then allows me to drag-resize from that increased value. However, when I get to the value I want and release the drag-click it randomly increases the values again thus increasing the size much beyond what I had specified (again increasing the size!!). URL.....

Illustrator :: How To Repeat Duplication With Changing Values

QUESTION: I have a circle. I want to make a copy of this circle for, say, 80 % of the original size. I'd like to repeat the duplication so the next copy have the same distance to the second circle as between the first two circles (in other word the percentage would change between tranformations) - and so on.

Hopefully there is some easy way to achieve this so I don't have to do it manually.

(Btw, I use CS5)

AutoCAD 2013 :: Changing Properties Default Values

Dec 2, 2013

changing some properties default value for 2 items i have here. I want to keep the new settings inside my dwg template but i don't find any why to do it yet.I have to modify these manually or use match properties.

THE TEXT: Has the first picture, i would like to keep the setting Line Space Style: "Exactly" instead of "at least" all the time, each time i open a new autocad.  How can i modify this default value? is there a way to do it ?

THE LEADER: Has the picture, in my dimension style i use 2 mm standard closed filled arrow. BUT i like to use the "dot" style sometimes but i like to use the dot at 1 mm not 2 mm.

Is there a way to set individually each type of leader tip size ? With dimension style override it's not working for now..Or maybe if i could change the default properties value for the particular dot in a configuration file?

AutoCAD .NET :: Slowing Down When Changing Block Reference Property Values

Sep 30, 2013

I'm inserting automatically many references to a couple of dynamic blocks in an AutoCAD drawing using VB.NET. If the number of inserted references is not very big, it works fine but, if I´m inserting hundreds of them, I noticed the app is slowing down a lot.

After taking some measures of the time the app uses in its execution, I noticed changing the value of the block reference property is slower as the number of inserted block increases: it takes 10 or 20 miliseconds at the begining but it can take more than 1 second after inserting one thousand of block references (to the same block).This is the function I use to change the property values:

Protected Sub CambiarPropiedades(ByRef ed As Editor, _ ByRef br As BlockReference, _ByVal nombrePropiedad As String, _ ByVal valor As Double) Dim pc As DynamicBlockReferencePropertyCollection = br.DynamicBlockReferencePropertyCollection If br IsNot Nothing And br.IsDynamicBlock Then For Each prop As DynamicBlockReferenceProperty In pc If prop.PropertyName = nombrePropiedad Then prop.Value = valor '

This line takes a long time the first time I call this function for the ' same block reference but it is faster in the next calls . It also changes the block reference name (br.name) in the first call

Exit For End If Next End If End Sub.

Which I call to change all the properties I need to change in an inserted block reference:

CambiarPropiedades(ed, br, "h_testua", objElementoLaboratorio.POS_TEXTO) CambiarPropiedades(ed, br, "d_texto_hor", posxTexto) CambiarPropiedades(ed, br, "largo", objElementoLaboratorio.LARGO) CambiarPropiedades(ed, br, "fondo", objElementoLaboratorio.FONDO)
 A weird thing I noticed is that when I call this function to change the first property of an inserted block, it also changes the .Name of the block reference.

Even if I change the order in the property modification, it takes always a lot in the first call, it does not depend on the property I´m changing.
