I'm making some icons with different styles to them, via the actions, so just before I apply my changes to all the icons via batch mode, I`d like to have one saved as PSD, just in case a customer would like a variation in it, but how do I save it without saving them all as PSD`s, I`d like to save them as PNG`s.

Photoshop CS3 Actions seem to have a bug such that when used in Automate > Batch mode it will use the name of the first file opened in the batch session for every file processed in that session. Since that name is used in Save step, this means having to deal with the "File Already Exist" dialog for every file in the batch because it is attempting to save at the designated location with the same file name. If the continue option is chosen each time, the final result is one file with the first opened file name, but with the contents of the last processed file. To confirm that this is a problem particular to the opening step, I have disabled all processing steps as well as the saving step by toggling them in the Actions panel. I then ran the action in batch mode on a folder containing 4 files. This resulted in 4 opened files all with the same name but different image content. This was with the "Override 'Open' Action Commands" checked/not checked, and the "Suppress File Open Options Dialogs" checked/not checked. The problem described also occurs when using a Droplet. By comparison, Photoshop CS exhibits the expected behavior: when an action is used in batch mode to process an entire folder of files, the name of each file is retained after opening and used after processing in the save or export step. The above described behavior of CS3 is a change acquired along the way to the CS3 version (I do not have the CS2 version to test). But more importantly, can someone please report if the CS4 version behaves as I described for CS3, or if it has been returned to the CS behavior? Here is what I currently do: I scan in one or two pictures into the same file. I then open the scanned in image in GIMP, and then use the Divide Scanned Images plugin in combination with the Deskew plugin to create an output of two seperate image files.
This is quite a tedious task, especially with the 1000+ stack of photos that I have.
I already have a script that automates the process of scanning in the image for me, but I really need a script that opens GIMP, and runs the Divide Scanned Images plugin, preferably without the GIMP user-interface.
Where the output of (display ...) in a script goes when running in batch mode?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSituation: Rendering a sequence of frames with different image dimensions (photos of 3D scene for printing, different image dimensions needed for different purposes). Changing image width/height in pre-render frame MEL script. Therefore, need to know what frame we are on.
Unfortunately, mental ray batch render returns frame number (currentTime) of PREVIOUS frame when called during pre-render frame script. I have to add 1 to get the frame that is about to render, to determine needed image dimensions.
This is different than rendering current frame within Maya to preview what will happen -- currentTime is already on the correct frame.
So, in my frame mel script, I need to know whether in batch mode or not, to know whether to add 1 to time.
How do so?
I searched docs and googled. All I found is a mention "Implementors of render traversals may wish to check whether they are running in batch mode", that did not say how to do so. And a mention in 2006 of "about -batch" that supposedly gives documentation that mentions how to do so. But the about command must be obsolete.
Maya keeps resizing the height of an animation during a software batch render to 180px. Rendering a single scene, the size is as specified in the settings.
I've got an animation I need to render. I'm trying to render at 640x480. I can render single scenes or the entire batch in Hardware mode and it renders at 640x480 no problem. I can render a single scene in software mode and it renders at 640x480. If I try to batch render the animation in software mode, Maya resizes the height to 180. If I reset the size of the render to 1024x748 Maya once again resizes the height to 180.
Is it possible to open an image in the clipboard with batch mode?
i.e. File > Create > From Clipboard

Everything else has normal icons (i.e. Illustrator files) but the Photoshop files are blank. This is true whether I'm on any type of viewer format, i.e. details, thumbnails.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I have an action that I've been using for the past couple years (?) now that involves opening an image, applying an auto color and auto levels, saving and closing. This has been working for me since probably a couple years ago when I made the action. Yesterday, I was working on a scanning project where I have groups of images in separate folders. I ran the action on the first 2 folders which went fine.
When I got to the 3rd folder all the way up to the last one, PS just loads all the images, does the levels and color then fails to save/close them when done. On one of my folders, it gets through a few of them when it drops the ball and just opens all of them. I'm not sure what's going on as there's no real explanation as to why this is happening.. especially when I've been using this action (and I even made a new action with still no luck). Last week I had about 300 images I had to work with and PS decided to pull this move on me after doing the first 30 of them fine...which is when I first noticed this happening.
To further add, I set my action to show everything step by step and it seems to happen with select images (in some cases, these select images are entirely what is in the folder). With the select images, it is not doing the actions entirely in order. Typically it does it in this manner:
1-Levels
2-Levels
3-Save
4-Close
What I'm now experiencing is this:
2-Levels
1-Levels
(Skips 3 and 4 since it is starting at 2 and working upward).
In the Printer Settings drop down menu both Color Mode and Print Mode are grayed-out. This just happened I cannot think of anything I've done differently.
I'm using OS 10.6.8 and the latest Epson drivers for the 3880. I have re-installed both PS and the Epson drivers. If I print from Acrobat Reader everything seems to work fine, this only is happening in Photoshop CS5.
For some reason while in text mode, all letters stay locked in Cap mode. My cap lock key is not on?

I’m not sure about the current “annotation scale” in case of lay out mode.
Annotation scale option is displayed only in the model and viewport mode but not in the lay out mode (attached)!
Based on what annotative objects living on the lay out but neither in the model (or viewport) are re-sized? At this mode, there is no option to choose the annotation scale?
On other words, how to choose the annotation scale in the lay out mode?
This may be related to other imported catalog bugs, but does not seem to be quite the same. In Lightroom 4, with an upgraded Lightroom 3 catalog:
1. Select a photo in Library mode.
2. Click on Develop to go to Develop mode
Screen shows "No photo selected". I cannot edit photos in Develop mode.
I can see and edit photos that are found in smart collections, but not photos that are simply in my collections from 2012, 2011, etc. folders

I have had this problem since I used Photoshop 7 and now Photoshop CS. When I want to go to a new paragraph or the next line using the enter key, it just doesnt work.
When I hit enter, the text just exits the text entry/edit mode.

No thumbnail, no generic, nothing. It's not a huge problem, I can always open the image but not by double-clicking on the icon: it's just not there.
View 654 Replies View RelatedI have CS6 installed on a Windows 8 system. The other day I needed to install an older version, CS2 to test a few things. This immediately changed all the Photoshop icons for things like Actions, Plugins, Filters, etc., to the CS2 icons.
After testing I uninstalled CS2 assuming all the CS6 icons would return. They didn't and now I'm left with blank white icons for things like Actions, Filters, Plugins, etc.
How can I get my CS6 icons back? Will uninstalling - reinstalling CS6 restore them? Is there an easier way? I need them back as I'm writing some documents that require screen shots and I need those icons back.
My old icons are gone on my psd files and such. Now they got a paint icon on them... How can I change this to photoshop cc so that I can actually see what kind of files they are...

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have Photoshop CS installed and my daughter had Elements 3, but wanted me to show her how to use it. I installed it on my laptop to figure it out. I recently uninstalled it and now my icons for all my downloaded styles, brushes, actions, plugins, and shapes are generic windows icons. I keep them in separate folders to use in Photoshop as I need them. I can still use them, so it's not that big of a deal, but the Photoshop style icons are missing. I know it had something to do with uninstalling Elements 3 because I restored my computer thinking something was wrong and realized Elements was back and I checked and the icons were back. I uninstalled Elements again and they were gone again.
