Photoshop :: CS6 Export Video To MOV Format

Dec 23, 2012

I have a few MOV format videos that I need to rotate and re-save with PS CS6.  I've never tried video editing with Photoshop, and this must be the most basic of basic starts in my next career as a film producer.  I assume I just go to Image > Image Rotation as one does with image files?  Then when I export the video, and select QuickTime MOV format, the resulting file does not actually have any video in it -- only audio.  And despite having no video apparently, the file size is huuuge.

I have QuickTime viewer installed, but do not have a licence for QuickTime full version.  Is that it?

Shall I just export to mp4 and be done with it?  I would prefer to be consistent... so that I have all MOV files (I won't have to rotate / edit all video files, only some).

Photoshop :: Why Can't File-export-render Video Into MPEG4 Rendering Into Small MOV File Format In CS6

Dec 5, 2012

I create short videos using the PS frame animation panel. I used to be able to FILE-export-render video- and choose MPEG-4 Video in the settings panel which would render my file into a small .mov file. Now in CS6 the new render video panel does not have that option. I tried the QT options in the export window and my file is hugh! The H.264 option gives me an .mp4. I put the .mp4 into my web page via Dreamweaver and my video does not play when uploaded into the sever. The video plays fine in Dreamweaver before I upload to the server. After I upload to the server I just get a Q and no video on my web page.  If I render the same file in CS5 I am able to view it in my web page. ADOBE WHY DID YOU CHANGE YOUR EXPORT VIDEO RENDERING OPTIONS in CS6?

Photoshop :: Which Sound File Format (Speech) For CS6 Video

May 14, 2013

i edit video tutorials in Photoshop CS6. The voice is on its own mono audio track. The voice track will be cut multiple times within Photoshop to adapt to the ongoings in the video. After editing the audio track in Audacity (or sometimes Audition) i wonder which file format i should use for the audio – so that i can import it and easily cut it in Photoshop CS6.

I used MP3 192 kBit, but it seems that sometimes i cannot exactly mark the millisecond where i want to cut. The marker bar jumps around and I get uncontrollable results. Of course this can be a general cache problem, but i wonder if there is a certain audio file format that's best to edit (file can be uncompressed and large). I do make long pauses in speech in order to get more easily cuttable tracks.

If i use MP3, is VBR more difficult to edit? Should it be another file format altogether? Photoshop CS6 imports these audio file formats:

AAC, M2A, M4A, MP2, MP3, WMA, WM,

some of which can't be written with the audio softwares i use.

VideoStudio :: Pro X5 - Video Format For Watching On PC

Feb 4, 2013

I've been creating video files in Pro X5 to upload to Vimeo. They are fine but I wondered if I could create a better quality format to watch on my laptop e.g. in terms of Kbps etc. The files are:

MPEG-4 Files
24 bits, 1280 x 720, 25 fps
Frame-based
H.264 Main Profile Video: 5000 Kbps
44100 Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo
MPEG AAC Audio: 128 Kbps

They are created from source files which are:
PAL (25 fps)
Microsoft AVI files
24 bits, 720 x 576, 16:9, 25 fps
Lower Field First
Matrox DV/DVCAM -- type 2
PCM, 48.000 kHz, 16 Bit, Stereo

What would be the best format quality for a laptop? I tried 20,000 Kbps and 256 Kbps sound for the heck of it but the laptop struggles to play them.

VideoStudio :: Pro X5 - Correct Format For 4:3 Video For Vimeo

Dec 4, 2012

I have footage in the following format which I'd like to upload to Vimeo (it was shot on a basic home camcorder some years ago). What would be the best format? I have VideoStudio Pro X5 trial version.

PAL (25 fps)
Microsoft AVI files
24 bits, 720 x 576, 4:3, 25 fps
Lower Field First
Matrox DV/DVCAM -- type 2
PCM, 48.000 kHz, 16 Bit, Stereo

The Share - Upload to Web - Vimeo MPEG-4 4:3 option gives you:
MPEG-4 Files
24 bits, 640 x 480, 25 fps
Frame-based
H.264 Baseline Profile Video: 2500 Kbps
44100 Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo
MPEG AAC Audio: 128 Kbps

Is this OK? Vimeo said they pillarbox all SD videos (ie. smaller than 1280x720) in order to fit them into their standard player so should I do the Vimeo HD 16:9 option for instance?

It gives you:
MPEG-4 Files
24 bits, 1280 x 720, 25 fps
Frame-based
H.264 Main Profile Video: 5000 Kbps
44100 Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo
MPEG AAC Audio: 128 Kbps

VideoStudio :: Video File Format For Downloads

Feb 21, 2011

I'm using Video Studio Pro X2 on XP.

I have a personal website and upload video files for people to download. My videos are around 45-60 mins long and I save them using MPEG optimizer usually, resulting in file sizes of around 2GB. These files take a long time to download, and I have to upload them overnight. I've downloaded video files of around 60 mins in duration from other sites which have been only 500MB in size. These tend to be WMV files 25bit with frame size around 640 x 480 and bit rate of around 1122fbps, frame rate 25fps.

Is this the best format for achieving a compromise between quality and file size? The WMV options un custom are much smaller frame sizes, where can I find the right option? Is there a better format available in the custom menu?

After Effects :: Delivering Anamorphic (2.39:1) From Video 16:9 (1.78) Format?

Mar 26, 2014

When I wish to deliver the look of the anamorphic format, but have source video shot in the 16:9 (1.78) format, what is the best method to convert it?

So far, I have read that one can imply add the letterbox bars on the top and the bottom to simulate the visual part to be in the 2.39:1 format.  I now realise, that even though visually it is the 2.39:1 format, the actual footage is still the original 1.78 format, just with black at the top and the bottom of the frame.

If that is okay, should one then notify film festivals and other alike that the footage is in the 1.78 format for them to project it correctly.  On the other hand, should one render only the visual part of 2.39 and then also notify them that the format is 2.39?

I've downloaded VS 15 trial as a test, as it has some additional features I'm interested in. However, with the VS 15 trial, following the same steps produces a file formatted as NTSC DVD 4:3 and no smart render. Am I missing something or is this a bug/limitation of the trial? Corel says the trial is fully functional. I'm running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit i5 4 GB ram. I even tried installing the VS 15 trial on my old XP laptop and had the same issue.

Premiere Pro :: Best Video Format For Editing / Projecting In Theater For AME

Feb 4, 2014

I am a recent convert to Adobe NLE systems coming from FCP 7.  My question is: What is the highest quality codec that I can use successfully with AME and Premiere Pro CC?

I’m working on a project that is targeted to screen in theaters (festivals) so I want to finish with the best possible quality.  My source was film telecined to Apple FCP Uncompressed 10-bit 4:2:2, 1920 x 1080, Millions, Data rate 1060.67 mbits/sec.  However, that format is too unwieldy for editing.  When using FCP for previous films, I transcoded those uncompressed files to ProRes 422 (HQ) for editing and for theater screenings.

I see that i can use ProRes with Premiere, with a little work. if he/she recommends a better non-quicktime format for editing and projecting?

I am an Adobe Creative Cloud subscriber and am using AME CC (version 7.2.0.43) and Premiere Pro CC (ver 7.2.1).  I have installed all suggested updates.  I’m running OSX 10.9.1 on my 2011 imac (core i7 with 32 GB of RAM). My graphics card is a AMD Radeon HD 6970M 2048 MB.

Xara :: How To Export In EMF Format

Feb 25, 2012

I am trialing the DG&P of xara. I am creating embroidery files in another software. I need to import in .emf. Most of my clipart, etc that I use is jpeg or png. I am wanting to take those into a program, create the vector file, and import to the embroidery software so that I can manipulate/simplify how I need to to create the stitch out. So, when I am in xara and I bring the image in, I select all and choose export in the .emf format....I figured that out. But, when I bring it into the other software I have a blank page. So, I figure I am missing something. Is there a quick way to convert the outline I bring in (in png) to vectors so that it can export and be manipulated in the other software in .emf? or do I trace the file in xara as I would in the other software, have a rough sketch, and then export? Where is the best info on what to do? I am pretty good at following tutorials and lessons but before I buy I just want to make sure it does what I am wanting it to do.
