I've browsed the other discussion threads with the same problem, but I am very confused as I have limited computer knowledge. I've used the font tool on CS5 before and there was no problem, but now when I use CS6 it either crashes or it lags so much that I have to force quit.
Currently using Mac 10.8.3
20in. display
2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor.
I installed a bunch of fonts and ever since then Photoshop has been crashing when the font preview menu is accessed with the type tool. So I deleted all fonts except for the required system fonts I believe. But it still crashes when I access the font preview menu. I can't provide a crash log now.
Once I have turned on font preview the only way I can get Photoshop to open and stay open is to manually delete the preferences. The font test script claims that I have no defective fonts. I have twon computers bothe running 64bit windows 7 pro. one with 12G memory 2TB disk space, quad core 2.5gHz processor with only 350G occupying the HD, and I have a laptop with only 4G memory, 222Gb HD (half full), and a 2gHz single core processor. Photoshop only has issues with font preview on the more powerful machine.  Now when I run the font test script it says I have 1600 fonts on my system, but I only show about half that in my font folder. Is photoshop reading fonts from elsewhere than c:windowsfonts
I'm running on a macbook pro OS 10.7.4 and illustrator 5.5 crashes everytime I open a new document, select the type tool and scroll through the font list from the font menu list. It scrolls about 25% down the list then crashes the software.
I have been working in this file for weeks, but now I did the sp2 update and when I try to open the file, the font substitution dialogue box opens. No matter which option I select, it causes the program to crash and close.
The CS6 Beta version crashing when switching to the eyedropper tool, here; Â [URL]....... Â It's still doing the same thing with the release version. It seems having Color Burst RIP 6.1 running at the same time causes it.
When I apply liquify tool, Photoshop CS6 crashes each time! Running Windows XP 64-bit 4 GB Ram/ Intel HD i3 graphics card. In both Photoshop 7 and Elements 2 running under Windows XP my machine hangs after a few clicks with the clone tool. Has anyone else had the same problem? And if so, is there a solution?
Everytime that I click on the text tool to use it, the program freezes up and Microsoft Windows pops up a message saying 'Adobe Photoshop has stopped working.' I've given in to just using Illustrator for my text, but am finding that I need in now in Photoshop. Anyone have any answers?? I'm getting frustrated??
Using the crop tool on layered photos will randomly crash CS4, what can I do to stop? With 3-4 layers, photos are in the 90-100,000KB range.XP pro, SP3, 2.0 GHz, 2.00 GB ram, 2 scrath disks with 10+GB openThanks,lama2646.
Recently Photoshop CS6 crashes when I attempt to use the Free Transform Tool through the shortcut (Ctrl+T). Â It also crashes very often when using any of the free transform/transform tools via the menu as well, though not as often as the previous listed situation.
I want to change my Path Selection tool options but every time I select the Path Selection tool in the tool bar, Photoshop CS6 crashes. I would like to select the Constrain Path Dragging option which I believe is in the options bar?
Every time I use the magic wand tool, Photoshop CS crashes. I tried resetting the program but it didn't work. I cannot find a patch for this anywhere. Its making photo editing very difficult! Is there a patch I can download anywhere?
I've been using PS 12.0 for a year without incident. Recently I installed Superstition beta and started experiencing crashes both in 13beta and 12. I can consistently reproduce a crash in CS5, Win7 SP1, x64, by opening an existing PSD and then switching to the Type tool. The crash occurs before I even get to see the type tool. I've replaced the prefs a million times using the CTRL+ALT+SHIFT on launch technique. Â I have not change type management (not using any font managers at this time). My nVidia drivers are up-to-date (dual 9800m GTX), my RAM is good.
I just installed CS6 last night on my laptop and I was super excited to use it..As I was about to edit a picture, I pressed the Ctrl+T... next thing you know, photoshop cs6 just crashes. My OS is Windows 8, photoshop cs6 64-bit, it's the latest version too!.
Photoshop crashes every time I try to use the Liquify tool. Fairly problematic. I should have the latest drivers, which eliminates what might otherwise be the most likely cause. This happened during beta as well, but I chalked it up to it being a beta version. Did not happen with CS5.5 or previous.   Adobe Photoshop Version: 13.0 (13.0 20120315.r.428 2012/03/15:21:00:00) x64 Operating System: Windows 7 64-bit Version: 6.1 Service Pack 1 System architecture: Intel CPU Family:6, Model:10, Stepping:7 with MMX, SSE Integer, SSE FP, SSE2, SSE3, SSE4.1, SSE4.2 Physical processor count: 4 Processor speed: 3093 MHz Built-in memory: 8175 MB Free memory: 6282 MB Memory available to Photoshop: 7227 MB Memory used by Photoshop: 60 %
I'm an aspiring YouTuber who uses Photoshop for its ability to make thumbnails for my videos. Recently, I went into Photoshop as always and whenever I select ANY tool, Photoshop crashes altogether.
im on vista 32bit and my notebook video driver is intel 965 chipset ( i just updated my drivers) probem is when i enable my OPENGL in order to use the rotate canvas feature, crop tool crashes whenever i activate it. most of the tools work ok(haven tried all yet) but when i disable OpenGL, crop tool works fine. I need the rotate canvas feature & thus OPENGl enabled.. what can I do about the crop tool(and most probably some other tools) crashing on me? i already tried resetting & install/reisntall. .
i have installed font in D directory as i didn't have enough space in my default one.. now my fonts in photoshop are not working they are just showing a black line.. what to do..?Whenever i type with my text tool it only shows a black line..
Not sure if I have some option checked here I shouldn't. I am working on an image where I want an 8 pt font. When I use text tool > horizontal type tool > I make sure I have verdena size 8pt font checked. I have made an image with this font size before and it turned out fine. However, now when I use this font it is huge, looks like size 20 or something. It is at 100% so it should look a lot smaller. I also put the old image next to it and the font is a lot smaller then the new one. Any idea on what's going on?
So i hit the little "T" text tool, and i get the generic Windows 7 "This program has encountered a program and needs to close" error. I click out of the error box, and all my work disappears as well as any changed preferences and recently opened files. The same happens when i try to use Image> Adjustments>HDR Toning. Yay. And what's funny is BOTH errors display a fault module of "CoolType.dll." Â I have tried EVERYTHING that everyone has posted about on every computer-related forum that i could find. NOTHING has worked at all. I deleted every single font minus the system fonts, including anything mentioning them in the system registry. Tried new copy of the dll file, nothing. Reset Photoshop preferences, nothing. System restore failed. Uninstall/reinstall of entire Adobe Master Collection failed. Â Oh, and in the 32-bit version, HDR Toning works but the text tool gives me an error message that "something prevented the text engine from being initialized." And, well, i just don't want to use the 32-bit version.
I appear to have come across a bug after updating Photoshop to latest version. This has happened on two of my machines. Â Basically, if I set my font size to say, 12px and then scale this bigger with transform tools making it huge in size. When I click back on it with the type tool, it still tells me the size is 12 px. Even if I then change this to say 6px, it will downsize the huge font to half of its size and not down to 6px. Â Just an addition to this, I just reinstalled Photoshop, tried the above before updating and it worked as you'd expect. When scaled the type up using transform and then clicked on the type it would say it was 152.8 for example. If changed it back to 12, it changed back to 12. Â Updated my Photoshop to latest update, scaled it up and clicked, said it was still 12pt. Very confusing, but has to be an issue with the update.
I have been experiencing constant crashes to the desktop using a fresh install of CS6 while attempting to use the text tool. Â My other problem is that photoshop does not seem to detect my graphics card, it says "Photoshop has detected an error in your display driver" and I cannot access any of the GPU options. Â I have updated to the latest version of Photoshop. I have the latest drivers for my graphics card. Â My setup: Â 3570k 7950 8gb 1680x1050 + 1024x768 Windows 7 64bit
I copied and paste text onto a pic on photoshop and it has completely resized the whole workshop. Everything, now is so small you can see it. I can select 72 pts but then it's just barely large enough to read. What has happened and how do I restore things there way they were? I have Photoshop 6.
