View 10 RepliesI have 6 rectangular photos and I'd like to put each of them on 6 square white backgrounds and then save the resulting images (it's for posting on Instagram - it's crazy that they don't allow you to post rectangles, but there you go). What would the most time-efficient way of doing this be?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to master cutting out people from backgrounds (especially backgrounds which are a bit complicated - not solid colours). I know there are a number of ways and a number of tools to use, but which is best? The pen tool is great for smooth clean lines, but I struggle with hair and fur on objects. I know there is a more professional way of doing cut outs using Channels and curves and creating a mask.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm starting my course at University in September and they have issued all the students with a summer project which is to design a T-Shirt. That's great and I can't wait to get cracking, but I want to print my design onto the T-Shirt using transfer paper.
The problem is my printers quality won't develop an effective result and it's too small for what I'm printing, so I would like to know if there are any websites I can use to upload my images to and choose what kind of material it could be printed on (transfer paper in this case) and choose the specific size of the material (e.g. A1-A4 etc).
I used the free select tool to free select an area of an image that is not a square (odd shape), how do I make that selection a perfect square if pasted to new image or new layer??? rectangular would be fine too...

I am using Designer Pro 6 and suddenly my flyouts will not work. what might have been pressed . I have re started both the computer and xara to no avail.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have been using images for my 3D plant models. Many times the leaf has to be cut out from the background. Through painting black and white areas and then removing the black with a layer mask, then left with the leaf.
Many times I get white or a bad outline around the leaf. Not sure if it's from over exposure with the black and white levels before using the mask or just a slightly poor image(or both).
Is it normal practice to do edging by hand manually on these textures for a crisp outline. Or is there just something I'm not doing right.an auto way of outlining the image and edging it somehow??
I am trying to print a sunset with cacti and I get a very very green cast on epson r2000. I only get it on the printout and not on the screen. I have the print color management for the right paper etc. ICM is on . I have tried epson vivid and epson rgb, same green unuseable cast. Perceptual vs relative doesn't work. I am new to lightroom. Got it mainly for softproofing and raw processing. OS is windows vista 32 bit I do not get this in pse 11.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using PSP 8. What is the easiest way to place call outs, if that's the right term?
Ideally I'd like to be able to select a rounded, shadowed rectangle with the arrow appropriately positioned (top, bottom, left, right) and of adjustable length, insert the text (typically a single letter or number), and then be able to group these so that I could drag the callout into the required position. I might need to place 10 or 20 on each of several maps, so it needs to be very simple and fast.
I've never properly used 'Picture Tubes' although I have a feeling that would be one way to achieve this. But the images built in to PSP 8 do not include any callouts. Maybe it's best done from first principles, making a set of shapes first and saving them (in empty form) as individual files, positioning them and then finally adding the letter/number separately?
I have a rectangular chute, tapering in width and height, and intersecting, at an angle, with a round duct. I can't seem to find a way to determine the cut-out in the round duct.
Because the chute tapers projecting the size onto a flat plane to then project onto the round duct doesn't work.
When I use the square selection tool, the selection edges are rounded rather than square. I can't remember how to rset this.
How do you make the edges square by default?
I am photographing and cataloging the paintings and drawings of an artist. There are over 3,000 of them. LR is such a good database that I am hoping I can use just that and add the details into the IPTC data - Title, Medium, Date created, Size, Price, whether sold and to whom, and - crucially - which shelf in the artist's store building they are located.
My idea was to use SlideShow Pro to publish the catalog to the web for dealers to browse, and my experiments show this would work very well, with IPTC data available on mouse-over.
I also need to produce a catalog with images and info for the artist's assistant so that she could quickly locate a requested painting on the correct shelf. Again this seems feasible up to a point as it is possible to print out the photos with IPTC information.
BUT - and here is my problem: I do not want all the info that the artist's assistant needs in the catalog to be available on the public slideshow, so have put different bits of info into different IPTC sections. But then I come across the limitation of printing in LR - only one section of IPTC info is allowed.
As it is I am at the moment also entering the info into a database (File maker Pro). I find on a good day with the wind behind me I can crop and adjust and catalog about 30 paintings an hour in LR. Also adding the info to File maker nearly doubles that. And more importantly it will be clunky and prone to error to have to alter or add to two separate databases in the future.
Is there an easy way to remove all the wipeouts in a drawing without deleting the entities they are attached to?
I have hundreds in some drawings, so I am trying to do a mass editing through lisp, but it won't remove just the wipeout, the text grouped with it gets deleted too.
I have created a file in illustrator 23in x 67in which is 137mb how can I reduce this as small as possible to be able to print it, as when I save it as a pdf it reduces to 27mb which is still to large.

We designed id cards (having width:1062 , height:672 pixels and resolution:300) using background of width:2560 and height:1600
Eventhough we use backgrounds with high resolutions, while printing in ID card machine, there are strokes in between. We couldn't get good output. What could i do.
Here is the background i used . How to design our own backgrounds?
I'm working on a design that seems a bit bland so I thought about adding some texture to the background, though I dont want it to interfere with the foreground elements like text, and images.
1. I can reduce the transparency, what else might I do? Fade it out?
2. Just curious to hear some examples of when you might use a texture for a background of an image? Do you only do it for very specific reasons?.
i have a picture of a car and i would like to take some parts of the background out but not all of its how can i do its, i have tryed using Filter>Extract but it dosnt seem to work, and i read on a site that i can use Crop tool but i am not familuar with that tool is their another way to do this.

I'm looking for pale soft images with no real pattern that can be used as a layer above a photograph to give that dreamy but slightly coloured look.
I believe there are suppliers that produce these backgrounds but can't find what I want by searching. See the background applied to the left page in pdf attached.
What options do I have to remove 'busy' backgrounds from photographs?
Many of my pictures are taken at home and I want to focus upon the wife and kids, not the sofa or curtains.
I've tried the magic wand and select similar and I've tried the magnetic lasoo - whilst both are good, they're not quite there.
I'm trying to recreate either one of the backgrounds in the 2 images below. I have a fairly good knowledge around Photoshop. I've tried rendering and filtering and just couldn't reach a relatively similar background to either one of these backgrounds.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo everytime I open a new document it's not a transparent background. Ill even start a new document as transparent and RGB. Still a white background when it is created. So I tried adding an image. Deleted the first layer. Still nothing. So I used a magic wand, deleted the background. Still white.
I remember having this problem before and my professor told me what it was. But I forget what she said, it was over a year ago. Anyone have any ideas?
