View 1 Replies View RelatedI have searched my entire library for a particular keyword. The results are onscreen now and number several hundred shots. I now want to show just the jpg versions and ignore the cr2. Can I filter the results somehow?

View 2 Replies View RelatedLightroom 3.6 and 4: Is it possible to search by synonym of a keyword? It was possible in LR2 (if I remember it correctly) and after LR3 the feature has been gone and looks like it's still not possible. I have huge controlled vocabulary keyword database with synonyms and translations for stock usage and can’t search using synonims.
View 9 Replies View Relatedhow to search for keywords within autocad file? word in title block, I got alot of DWG files inside the Hard drive, my co worker was asking me to plot out one of the drawing, don't know the drawing number but only know the date/mo/years was created, and the words inside the file. i typed in the window explorer as shown below but found none. sometime it's very difficult to look for the certain drawing when someone named by number and letter, i like to name the cad drawing with good description and then i put the dwg # or Pro# in the title block.
View 9 Replies View RelatedDoing a conform with footage coming from about 12 different external drives. Many of the folders on the drives are AVCHD/BDMV/STREAM crap that I will never use (They've all been converted to ProRes files on the drives). Smoke takes FOREVER to scan these folders.
It's generally our practice to not alter production drives - but I'd be willing to rename folders if I could trick Smoke into ignoring them during the relink/ search.Could I rename them with a period (or maybe # ?) at the head? (I'm not terribly Linux savvy, so just wondering if there are tricks I'm not aware of that might also work on Mac.)
It seems when I do a search query for an image, the search only searches in the folder that I have selected.
BUT...if I have another folder selected that the image is not in, then the search states there is no image that matches. AND...even if I have the parent folder selected, the search query again replies that there is no image.
Note: this occurs when I have "Show photos in subfolders" selected AND unselected so I don't think this will fix it.
I'd like to be able to truly search my ENTIRE library from just the top parent folder for an image.
My catalog folders are organized by YYYY-MM_TRIPNAME and contain subfolders by YYYY-MM-DD_LOCATIONNAME. Often I want to find a specific image that I took on a trip. I do remember the trip name and often the location name but not the date. How in LR can I search for a folder (or folders) whose name contains the trip or location name? I haven't tagged the image files (I should have but never did). Is there a solution without having to leave LR and go to the OS?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI would like to export images from Lightroom into a folder structure LR creates based on the images keyword tree. I have noticed that this might be possible if LR uses collections as a basis for the folder hiearchy it creates but not based on Keword Hierachy.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have used multiple versions of Lightroom (2, 3, 4, and now 5). Why can't I add keyword tags to multiple photos? I know that it can be done while importing, but I usually import a whole day's worth of pictures at one time and they don't require all the same keyword tags. The ones that are common I do add during import. I used to be able to highlight the photos I wanted to add tags to, go to the metadata and find find the list of keywords applied to those photos. Tags that were not common to all photos has an * beside them. If I wished to have one of these tags for all the selected photos I just removed the *, otherwise I added the new tag to the list.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn previous PSE-versions there was a small ticker next to each keyword to multiselect persons into a search.
This is gone, and I see no such functionality in "Peeople". It would be nice to have "People" among the keywords as well to in this way quick-search people and other keywords.
I have seen similar questions here on the forum but either they are not what I'm looking for, or older versions of LR.What I need is to import from one folder / memory card and mark some of the photos with different shoot names or headline. This name should then be used as a final folder name.
My current structure:
2012
- 06_Cyprus
- 07_Vacation in Denmark
- 07_Trip to Oslo
I have 20.000 photos in this structure already imported by Bibble and before that Downloader Pro. I would like to do everything in one program, not have to use Downloader Pro every time I need to structure my photos.
The only way I have seen to do this in Lightroom 4 is to do multiple imports and that gets annoying! This is the biggest factor for me if I will continue with Bibble / Corel Aftershot or go for Lightroom.
I currently use a different photo organizer and wish to migrate to PSE11, provided it meets this criteria. I have over 200K images that have already been tagged, and I need granularity in searching for items. I normally search in a cumulative fashion, where each criterion I add further reduces the number of images that meet all the criteria. Does PSE11 have a "meets ALL criteria" option, or rather, does it only display results that "meet ANY criteria" that I may have specified? In other words, the more criteria I add, the less images I should see that are filtered based on ALL the criteria.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am splitting my LR4 catalog (which contains over 150,000 images) into yearly catalogs for performance reasons. The big issue is how will I ever find anything if I don't know what year an image was made? Is there a catalog of catalogs? Or some way to index everything?

Do the drawings have to be open? Can you seach just thru the project with out opening each drawing, how does this work?!
Is there a way to have one common keyword list which can be shared between multiple catalogues?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have many pictures (about 10'000). Now i need a search (smart search) with pictures where only my mother (is marked)
On all my pictures each person is tagged. For my mother the Person Tag is called "mother"
I created a saved search with the criteria Person include "mother". The problem now is that also pictures are shown with my mother and other persons. But i would like only pictures from my mother without other persons. Something like... "Person is mother and not person "sister" and not person "friends" etc.
I'm using a Lisp which searches a certain folder and then updates all blocks, which are nested in that folder.
My issue is, that I'd like to use more than one folder on different path, where the LISP can search for this files. Is there a way to use multiple search path?
The code I'm using now to search for the blocks is: (setq dir "I:\AutoCAD Blöcke\Template\Support")

View 1 Replies View RelatedHow do I remove multiple folders from Elements Organizer 12, without deleteing the folders?
I imported all my pictures into Organizer. As it turns out, that included dozens of subfolders containing near-duplicate images, which now all show up in Organizer. That is because I previously used Google Picasa, which backs up the unprocessed original images into a subfolder called .picasaoriginals. I want to remove all these .picasaoriginals folders, but the only wny I can find to do it is to right-click each one individually, click Delete Folder, then confirm in the dialog box. I can't find any way to multi-select the folders.
Also, I have two of these folders that appear shaded in the folder list, where the option to delete is greyed-out. The contents report as not found, and my guess is that the folders have been deleted from the disk. How do I get rid of these from the folder list in Organizer?

View 1 Replies View RelatedHow can I delete mutiple folders at once?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to copy photos from one folder to another, leaving them in the original folder and have them show in the organizer in the new folder.
I find I can duplicate the photo and then drag and drop it, but each step takes literally a minute to complete (in explorer it is 1 second or less). To move a hundred photos one at a time to different folders would take quite a while.
so I tried to pull them in from the FILE button get new files and it won't because the photo exists in another folder in the catalog.
How can you have the organizer show photos in multiple folders, is it possible
Long, long, keyword hierarchy. Clicking on a keyword takes the focus back up to the keyword filter box. Usually happens if I've used the filter box to narrow down the keywords that are visible. Continues even after the filter box has been cleared. Doesn't happen all the time though. It is a real pain when trying to double click a keyword to edit it as the first click or the double click causes the list to refresh showing only the top entries. The second click (of the double click) then causes whatever keyword is now under the pointer to be keyword to be edited - NOT the keyword under the pointer when I started the double click.
I've seen this happen in both LR3.0 and LR3.2RC.
Windows XP, 32bit.
I'm new to LightRoom and am glad to have found this great resource. Onto the issue at hand:
An ongoing office project is using LR3 to catalog 30 years' worth of images gathered from various media. Some are scans of slides, negatives, or prints; others are images straight from a digital camera. We have three people working on this cataloging project. The lead guy has created keywords on his computer that he uses to tag these images. Is there any way to make sure the keywords he's using on his machine sync with and are available to the other users of the image catalog? If not, is there a file that would have to be shared among the three users to make that functionality happen?
