View 1 Replies View Relatedi just upgraded from photoshop CS3 to CS4. The installation went fine, except a the end, an error message was in the additional info box, saying:
Adobe Photoshop CS4 English Language Pack
Error:
Error 2.
LangPack (English) for DeviceCentral
Error:
I tried running pshop and i got a message "miising components" and it wouldnt start. Tech support in India told me to uninstall CS3 and CS4, stop all startup items in msconfig, reboot and reinstall.
I got the same message. Tech support said they'd get back to me Monday, since there was no "official" tech support on the weekends. BTW, i was on with them for 4 hours.
I noticed that even though i uninstalled pshop, bridge CS3
I've used CS3 and CS4 expanded (upgrade) on my older computer with Windows XP and though slow, mainly after cs4 was installed, they worked well. I've recieved a new computer for christmas and am moving my CS3 and CS4 expanded (upgrad) to the new computer and am having some problems.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI understand that under the "system requirements" the Adobe website says that you can't install PS CS6 (Extended) on case-sensitive drives (I'm using a MacBook Pro, OS X v. 10.7.4). This seems to have been the case at least since CS5.I didn't see this, and I bought (quite excitedly) the update from CS PS5 (Extended) to PS6. I had NO PROBLEM installing PS5 on this drive.Â
Â
Of course, as other users have indicated, the installer refuses to let you install on a case-sensitive drive (e.g., no options to install on another disk). There is also no mention that CS6 must be installed on the boot drive.Requiring installation on the boot drive has serious implications for those of us who require case-sensitive drives for other work; I don't want to have to reboot from another drive when I use PS, and switch back and forth -- that's simply foolish.
Â
From my point of view (as a user, granted), this is lazy programming, and this needs to be fixed ASAP. At least in my case, I have a $400 lump of software just taking up space, when I want to be up to my eyeballs enjoying PS6 in all it's glory.
Â
If I wipe my drive, format it as not case-sensitive, then I lose functionality for other critical work. Further, I'm not sure that the process of wiping the drive, formating it as non case-sensitive, and restoring everything from TimeMachine would even work (since the backup material is coming from a case-senstive drive and trying to go to a drive that is not case-sensitive).
I can't even really use it and I just bought it. I am running it on an iMac running OS 10.6.8 - any thoughts, any fixes??
View 6 Replies View RelatedRecently, our Photoshop CS3 (Extended) repeatedly crashes. We are working on a Mac (OS 10.6.8).It crashes at no specific/particular point, during a specific action, or when in a particular file. But it happens very frequently when trying to work.
Â
We have uninstalled and re-installed it over a dozen times, even on different hard-drives.
I have downloaded and installed Photoshop CS5 Extended. The problem is that after entering my ID and password (first time), the splash screen appears, saying Photoshop. When it tries to initiate "plugins-SupportScript" it crashes every time.
Â
I uninstalled and re-installed. I get the same problem. What do I do? What should I check? I am using Windows XP, Service Pack 3.
My PS CS6 extended often crashes at startup and do not find any solution. i´m using Windows 7 Ultimate 4GB Ram 64 bit Intel Core 2 Duo CPU

Photoshop keeps crashing when i open specific .psd files, but they'll open and function in Windows 7. ( all files were created on a mac)The files are quite important because i need them for work, and i can't keep working on a Windows just for those couples of files.I have the crash report, but it makes no sense to me at all.

My adobe Photoshop CS4 extended crashes constantly when I open/import a 3d model/file.
View 6 Replies View RelatedCouple days ago I got a problem. When I try to open extended menu, like Open ->, or Save ->, or Import/Export, 3ds max crashes with "application closed" error. Problem on 3ds MAX 2010 and 2011 in x64 versions. x86 work fine. Service Packs installed. OS Windows 7 x64. Drivers updated, and workis fine.
This solutions did not resolve a problem:
- reinstall 3ds MAX
- reset user and max settings / deleting enu folder
- there is no backup for windows recovery
Can it be, than some windows libraries damaged, or some dll missed? Do not know what to do else, except full windows reinstall.
Currently I am running PhotoShop extended CS5, 64bit. in which i have my fovorite plugins (Topaz, Nik and OneOne) running perfectly.
Â
I have upgraded to Adobe Creative Cloud and installed PhotoShop extended CS6 using Adobe Application Manager as recommended. It didn't ask me if I wanted to upgrade or do a new install for PhotoShop. So now I CS6 running with no Plug-ins. I need my plugins! LOL.
Â
I tried pointing to additional plugins in the CS6 preference to the CS5 plugin folder. Upon Launch it gave me a whole slew of error messages saying something cant load or launch C+ runtime error or what not. It does open up, but it only gives access to Nik and Topaz. OnOne doesn't show up under filters or extensions.
Â
So, what are my options?
Â
Just copy the plugins from CS5 to CS6?
Â
I dont't want to reinstall all the plugins to CS6 if I don't have to as I've auto updated them over time to current versions online, so only have installation files for my original purchases.
I'm happy with the NX version, but if I want to upgrade to XT, how do I do it? I looked on the upgrade options for XT and upgrading from NX, is not there.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm installing PS CS4 on Visat 64-bit. The first time I tried installing it the setup stopped when it was loading the Language pack for Device Central. I started the installation over again and removed Device central from the install and then started it again. This time it got almost to the end of install but it then stopped again when it was trying to install the Photoshop CS4 English Language Pack_x64.
Has anyone else loading CS4 had this problem in Vista 64-bit?
We have a copy of Adobe Creative Suite 2 installed on one computer that was recently hit with a trojan. The software is still on drive D and is intact. The software was activated a long time ago. Drive C had to be reformatted and the OS reinstalled because of the trojan. I'm trying to reinstall the software since the old registry is gone. I was just going to reinstall over the old version. Since this is an upgrade, it wants the Photoshop 5 CD. We don't know where this is, but we do have the old serial number. When we installed this a few years ago an Adobe tech had us enter a secret keystroke that brought up a box that we could enter the old serial number. I don't remember this keystroke. Q1: Does anyone know the keystroke to enter the old serial number instead of having it search for the CD? Assuming I can enter the old serial number and get past this screen, will a reinstall trash the activation? I do not want to re-activate the product since I assume it will not let me do so. The software was installed and activated on this desktop and on my laptop. I assume it will only let you activate twice. The activation directories are there along with the DAT files, howver. Q2: What can I do to preserve the current activation? And no I can't follow the instructions which would be to launch Photoshop and go to the Help menu and choose Help > Transfer Activation. I can launch Photoshop, but I get an error ""Your Adobe Photoshop user name, organization or serial number is missing or invalid. The application cannot continue and must now exit." The old registry is gone since the OS was reinstalled.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI have just obtained Adobe Design Premium CS4 for Windows.
I currently have CS installed. I have lots of additions to Photoshop
(e.g., filters, and many brushes, CSH, textures, etc). What is the
best way to upgrade to CS4?
(1) Delete existing CS2 then install CS4? I prefer this to get a clean
install but do not wish to loose any of my additions.
(2) Install CS4, assuming that it automatically delete old version,
preserve customizations, and install the new version?
After installing CS4, shortly after its introduction, everything went well, sort of. The GPU feature wouldn't work with my older graphics card, I think. At least it wasn't one of the tested/supported cards.
Then, my D drive (storage and scratch), started not being seen, intermittently. After alternating the cables and moving the drive, to test it, with help, we determined the mobo might be the culprit. Anyway, I decided to do an overhaul, and upgrade my pc.
With the first re-install of Windows, using a quick format, Windows fought us, and Photoshop took 4, count'em FOUR tries to install.
After a week processing pictures, and fighting the occasional crash, which had never happened to me before, and the issues mentioned by others regarding GPU, etc., I decided to do it all again.
Did a full format of C, re-installed Windows, smooth as a baby's.....well, you know.
All running smoothly, so far.... fingers crossed, toes crossed, etc, etc.:)
Before the re-build, I cloned the C drive, as everyone says to do, after de-activating both CS3 & CS4. (BTW, I only installed CS4 on the 'new machine'. Before the 2nd go round and full format, I cloned the C again, to a different folder, both times on the D drive.
Now I'm ready to re-install PS. My questions:
Should I do anything with the cloned folder(s) on the D drive beforehand?
Should I do only CS3 and wait for anticipated patches for CS4? (CS3 always ran smoothly, never crashed, etc.)Or go ahead and install both?
Are there any elements of CS4 I should NOT choose to install?
If a clean install of CS4 occurs, with no hiccups, that is, am I likely to have fewer issues than the first time?
Are there any other issues I should be aware of, or things I should do?
As you probably can tell, I'm soooo not a computer person.
my new system has EVGA 750i SLI mobo, 9800 GTX+ graphics card, Intel core2 quad Q6600 processor, 4 GB OCZ Reaper 1066 memory, 600 w power supply, WinXP pro, 32 bit.
I had photoshop cs2 9.0 ((with imageready and bridge)) installed on my old windows XP computer and it's program size came up to 250 something MB. I recently got a new Vista computer and downloaded Photoshop CS2 tryout ((file size 362 MB)) and put in my old serial number and everything and it installed//activated online just fine. BUT the size of the installed program is now mammoth and much bigger! I checked it in the programs list in control panel and it comes up to a whooping 7.62 GB in size o___O;;
I just wondered what accounts for the significant increase in size as it's the same version I had before. I guess I'm just wanting to know if this is normal? Does it have anything to do with the settings i chose when installing the software? x____X;; sorry again if this is the wrong place to post this, I just don't know who//where to ask.
