Photoshop :: After Installation Of Cs4 Extended...
Dec 14, 2008
I've used CS3 and CS4 expanded (upgrade) on my older computer with Windows XP and though slow, mainly after cs4 was installed, they worked well. I've recieved a new computer for christmas and am moving my CS3 and CS4 expanded (upgrad) to the new computer and am having some problems.
i just upgraded from photoshop CS3 to CS4. The installation went fine, except a the end, an error message was in the additional info box, saying:
Adobe Photoshop CS4 English Language Pack Error: Error 2.
LangPack (English) for DeviceCentral Error:
I tried running pshop and i got a message "miising components" and it wouldnt start. Tech support in India told me to uninstall CS3 and CS4, stop all startup items in msconfig, reboot and reinstall.
I got the same message. Tech support said they'd get back to me Monday, since there was no "official" tech support on the weekends. BTW, i was on with them for 4 hours. I noticed that even though i uninstalled pshop, bridge CS3
PS CS6 Extended crashes Mac Lion 10.7.4 half way through install. Not installing "Fonts Recommended" allows the install to proceed. But need to install fonts..
I understand that under the "system requirements" the Adobe website says that you can't install PS CS6 (Extended) on case-sensitive drives (I'm using a MacBook Pro, OS X v. 10.7.4). This seems to have been the case at least since CS5.I didn't see this, and I bought (quite excitedly) the update from CS PS5 (Extended) to PS6. I had NO PROBLEM installing PS5 on this drive.  Of course, as other users have indicated, the installer refuses to let you install on a case-sensitive drive (e.g., no options to install on another disk). There is also no mention that CS6 must be installed on the boot drive.Requiring installation on the boot drive has serious implications for those of us who require case-sensitive drives for other work; I don't want to have to reboot from another drive when I use PS, and switch back and forth -- that's simply foolish.  From my point of view (as a user, granted), this is lazy programming, and this needs to be fixed ASAP. At least in my case, I have a $400 lump of software just taking up space, when I want to be up to my eyeballs enjoying PS6 in all it's glory.  If I wipe my drive, format it as not case-sensitive, then I lose functionality for other critical work. Further, I'm not sure that the process of wiping the drive, formating it as non case-sensitive, and restoring everything from TimeMachine would even work (since the backup material is coming from a case-senstive drive and trying to go to a drive that is not case-sensitive).
Currently I am running PhotoShop extended CS5, 64bit. in which i have my fovorite plugins (Topaz, Nik and OneOne) running perfectly. Â I have upgraded to Adobe Creative Cloud and installed PhotoShop extended CS6 using Adobe Application Manager as recommended. It didn't ask me if I wanted to upgrade or do a new install for PhotoShop. So now I CS6 running with no Plug-ins. I need my plugins! LOL. Â I tried pointing to additional plugins in the CS6 preference to the CS5 plugin folder. Upon Launch it gave me a whole slew of error messages saying something cant load or launch C+ runtime error or what not. It does open up, but it only gives access to Nik and Topaz. OnOne doesn't show up under filters or extensions. Â So, what are my options? Â Just copy the plugins from CS5 to CS6? Â I dont't want to reinstall all the plugins to CS6 if I don't have to as I've auto updated them over time to current versions online, so only have installation files for my original purchases.
I'm happy with the NX version, but if I want to upgrade to XT, how do I do it? I looked on the upgrade options for XT and upgrading from NX, is not there.
I'm installing PS CS4 on Visat 64-bit. The first time I tried installing it the setup stopped when it was loading the Language pack for Device Central. I started the installation over again and removed Device central from the install and then started it again. This time it got almost to the end of install but it then stopped again when it was trying to install the Photoshop CS4 English Language Pack_x64.
Has anyone else loading CS4 had this problem in Vista 64-bit?
We have a copy of Adobe Creative Suite 2 installed on one computer that was recently hit with a trojan. The software is still on drive D and is intact. The software was activated a long time ago. Drive C had to be reformatted and the OS reinstalled because of the trojan. I'm trying to reinstall the software since the old registry is gone. I was just going to reinstall over the old version. Since this is an upgrade, it wants the Photoshop 5 CD. We don't know where this is, but we do have the old serial number. When we installed this a few years ago an Adobe tech had us enter a secret keystroke that brought up a box that we could enter the old serial number. I don't remember this keystroke. Q1: Does anyone know the keystroke to enter the old serial number instead of having it search for the CD? Assuming I can enter the old serial number and get past this screen, will a reinstall trash the activation? I do not want to re-activate the product since I assume it will not let me do so. The software was installed and activated on this desktop and on my laptop. I assume it will only let you activate twice. The activation directories are there along with the DAT files, howver. Q2: What can I do to preserve the current activation? And no I can't follow the instructions which would be to launch Photoshop and go to the Help menu and choose Help > Transfer Activation. I can launch Photoshop, but I get an error ""Your Adobe Photoshop user name, organization or serial number is missing or invalid. The application cannot continue and must now exit." The old registry is gone since the OS was reinstalled.
I purchased a Spanish language copy of CS4, having trouble installing the program. gets the following message:
The program says "es imposible instalar algunos componentes esenciales de Photoshop CS4, para continuar con la instalación presione Continuar, para detener, presione Cancelar"
"Some essential components of Photoshop CS4 are impossible to install, to continue installing press Continue, to stop the process press Cancel"
I have an original XP Windows interface (64 bits)
1,56 Gb in RAM working at 600 MHz
160 Gb free in HD
Intel pemtium 4
chipset Intel Brookdale Gi845GEV working at 2.8 GHz
presses "continue" and afterwards he cannot open photoshop because the components are not properly installed.
been trying to install Photoshop CS3 and having great difficulty, it will only install the shared components and nothing else, Ive gone through all the tutorials on the Adobe help pages and still not had any luck, I've tried looking through the log and the only thing I could come across is the following: [Â Â Â 5028] Sat Apr 11 00:41:19 2009 ERRORDefault installation language not valid, falling back to first supported language.[Â Â Â 5028] Sat Apr 11 00:41:19 2009 DEBUG couldn't find any info on the error code or anything, ive uploaded my installation log
I have just obtained Adobe Design Premium CS4 for Windows.
I currently have CS installed. I have lots of additions to Photoshop (e.g., filters, and many brushes, CSH, textures, etc). What is the best way to upgrade to CS4?
(1) Delete existing CS2 then install CS4? I prefer this to get a clean install but do not wish to loose any of my additions.
(2) Install CS4, assuming that it automatically delete old version, preserve customizations, and install the new version?
After installing CS4, shortly after its introduction, everything went well, sort of. The GPU feature wouldn't work with my older graphics card, I think. At least it wasn't one of the tested/supported cards. Then, my D drive (storage and scratch), started not being seen, intermittently. After alternating the cables and moving the drive, to test it, with help, we determined the mobo might be the culprit. Anyway, I decided to do an overhaul, and upgrade my pc.
With the first re-install of Windows, using a quick format, Windows fought us, and Photoshop took 4, count'em FOUR tries to install. After a week processing pictures, and fighting the occasional crash, which had never happened to me before, and the issues mentioned by others regarding GPU, etc., I decided to do it all again.
Did a full format of C, re-installed Windows, smooth as a baby's.....well, you know. All running smoothly, so far.... fingers crossed, toes crossed, etc, etc.:)
Before the re-build, I cloned the C drive, as everyone says to do, after de-activating both CS3 & CS4. (BTW, I only installed CS4 on the 'new machine'. Before the 2nd go round and full format, I cloned the C again, to a different folder, both times on the D drive.
Now I'm ready to re-install PS. My questions:
Should I do anything with the cloned folder(s) on the D drive beforehand?
Should I do only CS3 and wait for anticipated patches for CS4? (CS3 always ran smoothly, never crashed, etc.)Or go ahead and install both?
Are there any elements of CS4 I should NOT choose to install?
If a clean install of CS4 occurs, with no hiccups, that is, am I likely to have fewer issues than the first time?
Are there any other issues I should be aware of, or things I should do?
As you probably can tell, I'm soooo not a computer person.
my new system has EVGA 750i SLI mobo, 9800 GTX+ graphics card, Intel core2 quad Q6600 processor, 4 GB OCZ Reaper 1066 memory, 600 w power supply, WinXP pro, 32 bit.
I had photoshop cs2 9.0 ((with imageready and bridge)) installed on my old windows XP computer and it's program size came up to 250 something MB. I recently got a new Vista computer and downloaded Photoshop CS2 tryout ((file size 362 MB)) and put in my old serial number and everything and it installed//activated online just fine. BUT the size of the installed program is now mammoth and much bigger! I checked it in the programs list in control panel and it comes up to a whooping 7.62 GB in size o___O;;
I just wondered what accounts for the significant increase in size as it's the same version I had before. I guess I'm just wanting to know if this is normal? Does it have anything to do with the settings i chose when installing the software? x____X;; sorry again if this is the wrong place to post this, I just don't know who//where to ask.

During first try of installation my battery of the notebook broke down - I accidentally forgot the charger..When I try now again an installation the Download part with the Assistant works fine but during installation the process does not continue anymore after this step ..The "progress-bar" of this dialog completes but after this nothing happens. I have a PC with windows 7. I have had photoshop on here for a year or so with no problems. I recently reformatted my PC and now for some reason when I open photoshop after it has finished installing, the grey window opens and just freezes. i've tried reinstalling 10 times and it does the same thing every time.
I want to do a Repair Installation of PS CS5. Both 32 and 64 bit versions of PS are installed on my Win 7 64bit machine, but the names of neither version appear in the 'Programs & Features' section of the Control Panel. What should I do?
I downloaded and installed noise ninja, which is compatible with photoshop CS6, into the Cs6 plug-in folder. Why is the noise ninja application not contained within CS6 Photoshop when I select the filter menu? Â
Trying to install CS6 upgrade in Win 7 64bit system. Seemingly installs to point of Setup. It accepts serial # and then gets to installing MSFT Visual C++. The estimated time steadily increases to >5hrs! but makes no progress. I uninstalled CS6 and tried reinstalling but had same problem I assume this is a bug? My browser is IE9 and DSL.
I am trying to install Photoshop CS3. I am using Vista Home Premium. It appears the installation starts, but stalls and I end up with a "not responding" message.
Can I safely remove my Documents and SettingsmyuserLocal SettingsTemp files and directory? I have 18 GB of stuff in there and I have no idea what any of it is.
I installed the CS3 trial, after using it I got a copy of CS2 retail edition. I uninstalled CS3 and installed CS2. CS3 was fine but CS2 closes after a few seconds with the message `An error has been detected and installion cannot continue. Please restart your computer and reinstall the application`.
I encountered the much discussed 2739 error when trying to install PS CS3 on Vista Ultimate. I followed the proposed solution. But instead of a dialog box I received the message: not recognized. I have the latest update of Java installed and I have IE as my default browser. What now? Return CS3?
Currently, Adobe CS2 are installed on two XP computers (a- and b- computers). I want to install it onto the new Vista computer. What I want to do is to deactivate CS2 on one XP computer (i.e., a-computer), and then install CS2 on the Vista computer and then activate CS2. I don't see any problem for doing that.
I tried to install Photoshop CS4 (testversion, from the internet) but after installation I can't open it (I deliberately installed Winzip12 for it, but every time I try to open it there's just a long list of items---). What do I have to do here? I've got a brand new Toshiba notebook, and XP Professional and everything else just works fine..
My trial CS4 Extended edition has been installed in both C:Program Files and C:Program Files (x86). The plug-ins are in the (x86) folder and all works okay. I do have 64bit Vista Home Edition. What should I do with the files in the first mentioned folder?
