View 6 RepliesIn addition to no icon showing the type of cursor (Standard or Precise) w/in PSE some cursors diplay as tripple symbols of the selected tool. For example, if the Crop tool is selected three pictures of the Crop tool display as the cursor. I have tried the Control-Alt-Shift reset w/o success.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having a very annoying problem with 3dsmax 2014 that i can't figure out. I can't get coordinates to show up at the bottom when trying to create objects, or just move the cursor in the viewport. Â They will show up if I use move/scale/rotate gizmo though. But they will be blank if I m just moving a cursor around or trying to create a new object (which is annoying since I can't tell for sure what the coordinates will be). On one of the 3dsmax docs I saw that they will be blank if I have multiple objects selected or if I m hovering over an inactive viewport. However, neither is true in my case. I even tried in maximized viewport view and still nothing. And no objects are selected at all.Â
Â
how to get the coordinates to display when hovering and creating ?Â
Using CS5, upgraded to Mavericks onMacbook Air. The cursor shows up in selection, direct selection, etc. as a black arrow or appropriate shape. BUT it all but dissappears as an ultra-faint grey? symbol in type, line, rectangle! how to get the cursors to be black or darker?
View 5 Replies View RelatedHow do you change the characteristic of the cursor from Hand (Move Tool) back to just being a pointer? This condition only exists in the Develope Module when my cursor is placed over the top of the photo. When I move it off the photo it returns to a pointer. In the Library Module it is always a pointer like I like it to be.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm wanting to create transparent text over a picture with only the outline of the text showing. So basically, I need to only see the stroke of the text and have be picture show thru from behind.
View 9 Replies View Relatedi have a very rookie problem on cs5. i just started learning about paths and how to write text to follow these paths. from what i undestand in order to have the text follow the path i have to select the text tool and when i hover on the path it should give me the dotted cursor with the squiggly line.
however the problem im having is that the cursor never changes and as a result i just end up being able to put horizontal text that doesnt follow the path. Is there some option i must turn on or something? Im using CS5 at the moment.
i select the text tool and draw the text box but i seem to have no flashing text cursor and typing does not enter text.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhenever I use the text tool the cursor and symbols and so on are always on the left and when I try and use a symbol they are put at the start of whatever I type.
- Reset Text tool.
- Make sure type preference is on default.
In Photoshop CS6 the flashing type cursor cuts through several lines of text (see image).Â
This makes it hard to select text since it is hard to tell which line the cursor will select (see image).Â
Can the text cursor be resized? This happens no matter what type size is used or what paragraph settings are selected. I am using Windows 7 professional, service pack 1 on a Dell Precision T3500 with 8.0 GB RAM.
i am trying to create a drop shadow on text. i select the text and then copy and then paste in back. however, the copy shows up way above the text and not behind it. what am i doing wrong?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen i mark Text/Dimension/Multileader and such in autocad 2011 LT, i get an issue, which i have tried to shown on the picture. The problem is that when i mark them, they show the current size they have, plus any other size they have had (Annotation it seems).
I Make a dimension. The overall annotation scale is 1:10. Now i change the overall annotation scale to 1:100. Then i set the overall annotation scale back to 1:10, i click my dimension, and it now shows how it currently looks, plus how it looked when the annotation scale was 1:100. This way i end up with every text object showing up 5 times when i mark them.
In the past day I have run into a problem whenever I copy and paste any text inside Illustartor CS6. If I copy text from outside Illustator and paste in a file, everything is ok. But if I copy text from inside an AI file and paste into another AI file or to the same file, I get a bunch of extra text that gets displayed before the pasted text. In the example below I copied and pasted the text "This is a test" within the same AI file, and got the a bunch of information above the text.
View 25 Replies View RelatedI am wanting to copy the behaviour of a built in function in Civil3d on another object basically information on the object is displayed in a box next to the cursor cros hair but its not a tooltip.
My question is what is it and can you access it for do you have to create it yourselve.
I'm starting a new drawing in Civil 3D 2012 and when I go to draw a line I can't see the small text boxes that show up beside the cursor that allow you to input numbers. I like to type my lengths and angles into these boxes to draw my lines as it makes it 100% accurate however the aren't showing up. Drawing lines is essentially useless because I now have to eyeball it. Is there a keyboard shortcut to get these boxes to display again?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a frustrating problem in CS3 that when writing a block of text, either with text tool or area text tool, that the cursor disappears. I need to see its new position after using the space bar or tab: ready to input the next piece of text.
It seems to be flashing some of the time if I click into the middle of the text block, but disappears where I want to continue it at the bottom of the text block?
I am having the following problem, Every time that I am trying to create a text, appears as this image below and the text does not stay there, nor I can modify it. I already reset all the preferences, configuration, etc, Why I cannot set the text there? also every time that I create a text a new layer is not created for this text. I am using photoshop cs3.
View 2 Replies View RelatedPhotoshop CS2 has suddenly stopped displaying text on images. When I click with the text tool, or create a text box, and type in it, the type will appear in the Layers frame but not on the image (even if it's a new image). It's not a zoom, or size, or font problem, nor is it an opacity issue or layer visibility problem.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using Photoshop CS1. When I go to write in text, I click and I get a tiny square, then I begin typing. Unfortunately, the text is so small, it doesn't show up.
It's got nothing to do with the font color, size, position, opacity, etc, as I've already looked into it,
I am running Photoshop CS2, when I click on the Type Tool and then click on my document to place and enter the type nothing is showing up. The Text layer is showing up in my layers palette but I can't see anything on the document. The color, size, font have all been checked (black, tried sizes from 2-200, Times New Roman). This is happening in new documents and if I open existing documents.
View 7 Replies View RelatedJust recently (only as of this morning as far as I know, but possibly for a few days) my text won't show up in photoshop, no matter what I do. Instead I only see a VERY tiny tiny type-cursor and when I highlight my text by clicking the thumbnail in the layers palette my text is underlined. The underline effect usually goes away after I've canceled or approved the "changes".
I've made sure the resolution is 72. My background color is white, foreground is black and my text color is also black. No matter what size I change my font to, it doesn't show up. I've tried changing fonts, and I've tried applying and unapplying all of the text effects/settings. I tried rebooting my computer and uninstalling/reinstalling photoshop. My text in all my other programs (Word, notepad, Paint, etc.) works just fine.
I have this image saved as a .jpeg, and whenever I go to use the text tool the actual words do not show up on the image, however they appear on the layers box.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI don't know if this is in the exact forum or not, but anyways. I am experiencing a problem with Photoshop CS2. The text doesn't want to show up what so ever.
1) Check and see if your text is the same color as the background.
2) Make sure your text is under anything.
Or any of that type of nature because I have used photoshop for about 2 years now. So if anyone has any info on this,
Is there a key I can press that will change my cursor from the pointer to the text writing tool?
View 3 Replies View RelatedApparently the issue has been happening since as far back as CS2. The flashing text cursor is only visible in the upper left hand portion of the screen. If the text your are attempting to edit is on the far right or bottom of the screen, the cursor vanishes. Some people have suggested zooming in and out, but this only appears to solve the problem because the art board may get nudged into the "good" portion of the screen. I did a screen shot and found that the cursor is only visible in about a 930p x 600p area of the window (not including toolbars). Incindentally, the is the same size that the window defaults to when initially opened. On a HD monitor, this amounts to a very small space.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhile working on a project of mine yesterday the panels that display eraser and pen tool etc. stopped showing text. I can still see the hidden tools, but can no longer see text. I am quite familiar with most tools, but not all so it is a pain when I need to try that oddball tool I don't use regularly.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI tried to reset the Text tool and gave it a larger font. All I get is a straight line and the text shows up in the layer box.
Â
This worked for me previously, but now it is stubborn.
I've gone to create a new shape layer or text layer, it appears like it's at 50% opacity. I've checked my layer settings, and they're all at 100% fill and opacity. I can't see any reason why they'd be semi-transparent, and none of the settings I've tried have changed anything. I've even tried deleting the shapes/text, saving my document, and starting over. That worked one time, but this time it's not working.
Â
Even applying a color overlay still results in a semi-transparent shape.I am in the middle of doing a design for a client, for print, and I really can't be dealing with this right now.
Whenever i open up a CR2 file in photshop the screen that pops up is meant to be grey but instead it shows up black with most of the txt showing, i can still use the sliders to fix the picture but it doesnt feel right
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy cursor appears and disappears while in GIMP as I move the cursor over the canvas. I can make the cursor appear but only if there is no movement of the cursor. It makes no difference which tool I select, the size of the canvas, or the level of zoom.
Please note that this only occurs in Gimp, and none of my other applications. It started when I upgraded from openSUSE 12.1 to 12.2. I'm assuming that it has something to do with my input device configuration, but I could be totally wrong.
I have a total of 3 input devices - Core Pointer, Logitech USB-PS/2 Optical Mouse, and Virtual Core XTEST Pointer. Both the Optical Mouse and XTEST Pointer are DISABLED. Core Pointer is the only one enabled. Enabling Optical Mouse and XTEST Pointer give me other problems in Gimp and need to remain disabled.
For the Core Pointer, Mode is set to SCREEN, a message says that 'The axis X has no curve', and the following Axis Settings:
X 1
Y 2
Pressure none
xtilt none
ytilt none
wheel none
In Gimp Preferences->Input Controllers, there are three active controllers - Mouse Buttons, Main Mouse Wheel, and Main Keyboard.
