Photoshop :: Best Font After Saving?

What basic sans-serif font saves the best in Photoshop? Im looking for something really basic, like Arial or Verdana. Im finding that when I various fonts, they have lots of tiny jaggies around them and dont look sharp. Ive messed with the anti-alising methods, but none seem to get the sharp looking fonts in headers i see all over the web. So does anyone know of a specific plain sans-sarif font i can use for a header (probably 24-30 pix) that saves really nice and sharp?

I am using Adobe Photoshop 6.
to save font styles that you have made so you don't have to make them every time you want to use them.

Basically what ive done, is taken a font ive found online and made quite a few changes to it by use of the paint brush, eraser and so on... now i want to save these changes and use this new "font" ive created, and use it in pictures and stuff.
what i would like to know, is how do i save the changes ive made? But i only want the words ive used. I dont want the black background i edited on. I would like to open the file, and just have the words i edited on the new background.

When I make a text, and if I like to change the font style how can I do this with out having to click on the new font,
every time I choose a different font I have to click on that font, and if I don't like I have to click on a different one
I like to do it like in Flash MX I move the pointer over the list of fonts and may text change the font style with out click on it

I have started editing photos using the Photo Fix Options in Instant Fix. I have then switched to Photo Editor to fine tune my edited picture. When I use save or save as, to save the edited picture both the edited and original appear in the files. If I start in in Photo Editor and save there is an option to uncheck that reads "Save in version set with Original" However I am more comfortable with beginning in Instant Fix and then switching to photo editor. For some reason when I go to save after switching from Instant fix to Photo editor the uncheck feature is no longer available. step by step instructions to save revised photo afterusing Instant Fix first then Photo Editor.

If I create a file in Photoshop without coming from Lightroom or duplicate a file in Photoshop that I opened from Lightroom, is there a way to save the new file from Photoshop to the desired directory on my local hard drive and simultaneously have it added to my Lightroom catalog? Or do I need to save the file then import the file into the catalog? I'm working with CS6.

I've a problem with "DWGtoPDF"-Plotter of Acad2013. I give the textstyle "arial" in Acad and plot it to PDF. In the PDF-Sheet i see the Fontname "ArialMT" in the document-options. I want to give the PDF's away and fear, that he gets an error while opening.

After opening a file from another designer, this Chinese font has taken over my "omens – regular" font file. Anytime I use it, it converts to this font and each time I need to change a font weight, I must do it manually. As you can imagine, I use our company font all day so this slows me down quite a bit. Have you heard of this? It seems like some sort of font virus. I've researched removing it, yet can't seem to find the original font file to get rid of, which is even weirder."
We tried moving the font family to the trash, emptying the trash, rebooting the machine, and re-adding the font family and it still is happening.

I had posted in another thread about wanting to clean up a signature and make it look more font like. I tried that and it seemed to be pretty difficult due to the amount of random in a hand written signature.
So I think I'd like to approach this from the other direction. I have a font I like but I don't want it to look like the font (way too common). Is there a way to alter the font (not the entire font set or even to create a new font but just for a one word Logo)?
I'd ideally like to connect two of the letters and also modify the shapes of the letters just a bit.

Is there a way to specify a given system font that should be substituted for a given missing font? For example, the document I'm working with contains CourierStd and CourierStd-Bold which are not installed on my system. I would like to set Illustrator so that any time a document that contains these fonts is opened, Courier New and Courier New Bold are substituted automatically.

I had my automatic save set up for every 10 minutes but files were not being saved regularly. I deleted files from the Temp folder thinking it was full and now there are no .sv$ saving at all. How can I make drawings save automatically every 10 minutes?

I'm wondering if there is a Font Preview plugin available that will do what Illustrator SHOULD HAVE done for many years - which is to actually allow you to toggle through your font list and display the text you entered in the fonts you are clicking through - - kind of like what CorelDraw has had for the last 15 years.
Imagine that... being able to review text in a selected font to facillitate the selection of an appropriate visual reference for logos, etc. Earth-shaking, I know.it seems there would be an Illustrator plugin by now that would do this???
Or do I have to continue to have CorelDraw opened up so that I can review text in various fonts to determine the best choice for a given project font?

I am getting an error in Adobe Photoshop CS6 on first one computer and now another one, I took a screenshot of what's happening... For some reason, in the character palette, it wont allow me to upsize the px size above 22.97px. And this is happening on two different computers. I've restarted, updated, tried everything. Once I select the font and try to upsize or downsize the type, it won't allow me to go above that number.

What is U55-normal? I thought this was Universe 55.
On a Mac it is showing up as U55-normal and when I try to open the Mac photoshop files on a PC it says the font is missing. What is going on.
I have Universe 55 installed on PC but it shows up only as Universe 55 Roman in photoshop.

I have Suitcase to manage fonts and I had a lot of fonts activated and they were working fine. I restarted my computer and then the fonts in Suitcase previewed as Arial and dont activate. When i try to install them into the system, it says the font maybe damaged or corrupt. Also in the fonts folder, most of the fonts have a little arrow on them, like a shortcut symbol.
