Photoshop :: Batch Change JP2 Files To Photoshop (CS3)
Jun 29, 2012
I found a website that allows you to download old (public domain) books. Each page is saved as a jp2, which I can't open in Photoshop CS3. I found an plugin that enables me to open them, and I could have sworn it was working, but it suddently stopped working for some reason.
Anyway, I have a folder full of folders with over a thousand jp2 images. I can open them in Pixelmator and save them as Photoshop files, but that's very time consuming. Any way to do a batch change - convert every jp2 image in the folder to a format that I can open in Photoshop CS3?
Also, any online guide to batch changing. I'd like to learn how to batch change file sizes; for example convert all images that are 4,000 pixels wide to 500 pixels wide. I'd also like to learn how to batch change file names. I probably have to pursue each of these separately, but I just wondered if there's some sort of online central guide to batch changing.

When batch processing actions in Illustrator, it will not allow me to change the Transparency Resoluition and I have over 1,000 eps files to process. You can only select from the dropdown by doing it manually. The "default" or preset is Medium. I need high res.
This is what I need to do to 1,000+ eps files.
1. EPS file is open in Adobe Illustrator CS6 on Windows.
2. File > Save As> filename.eps > Desktop
3. EPS Options > Transparency > Preset: [High Resolution]
4. OK
When you automate this through batch processing an action, you cannot select [High Resolution]. [Medium Resolution] is selected as default. I need for all my files to be [High Resolution].
My printer software will not read the cutlines on any other file formats so they must be High Res EPS files.

I have a couple thousand AI authored EPS files with a specific swatch name (SpotBlack) that I would like to rename (black) -- is there any method to do this en masse, preferrably outside of Illy using a text editor?

I got over 160 color corrected RAW files from my photographer when I thought I was getting TIf or PSD files. I need to put them into an in design doc to send out for printing. Is there a way to convert all of these in one fell swoop without messing up the work that has already been done?
I didn't allow in my timing to save each one individually since i didn't know I was going to need to do this. I am really unfamiliar with batch processing, so how to best go about this, or if I even can. I am working in Photoshop CS6. version 13.06 x 64.

I took a week worth of vacation photos before realizing the wrong year was set in my digital camera.
When I open the files in Photoshop, and go to "File > File info" the year is wrong on
Description tab: Created field
Audio Date tab: Created Date field
Origin tab: Date Created field
IPTC tab: Date Created field
I did File > File Info > changed the year.
When I do the steps one at a time, the year fields are changed properly.
I recorded an ACTION that run the same commands.
But when I run the action, the year fields remain unaltered.
Whats going on?

Photoshop CS2 & CS3 will not open my NEF raw files {Nikon D300}. Both versions have always opened my raw files. Also, CS3 locks up when I batch resize jpgs.

I would like to automate of saving, renaming, closing open documents then placing them in a seperate folder after I'm done adding watermarks to my images. The problem I'm coming across is that the action i have renames all the files using the same name (whatever example/file I used when I recorded the action).
So even though the original file names are 123.jpg, 124.jpg, 125.jpg and I want them to be renamed as 123c.jpg, 124c.jpg, 125c.jpg all of them gets renamed 122c.jpg.
I'm not sure how to do a screen shot, so here is the skinny on what I have done...
Under the Batch window I marked the following:
Play:
Set: Set1
Action: Watermark Save & Exit
Source: Opened Files
Destination: Folder Desktop/Watermarked Pictures
Override Action "Save As" Commands (box is checked)
File Naming: "Document Name+c+extension
Starting serial #1
Errors: Stop for Errors
what I did wrong??
I use CS4 if that matters.

Im in the process of upgrading from CS5 Design Standard to CS6 DS. I had no problem copying my custom InDesign workspaces from the earlier version to the new version.
What I'm having a hard time with, is how can I get the batch files I use in Photoshop CS5 to copy over to the current version? I distinctly remember doing this when I moved from CS4 to CS5, but for the life of me, I can't remember how I did it, and I've been looking all over the Internet with no success.
I'm on OS 10.6.8 (I know it's old, but everything works beautifully, and I'm not gonna move to ML until I absolutely have to…)

I made an action that opens, resizes, saves and closes files. I loaded it into "file>automate>batch" and designated both source and destination folders(which are different). For some reason the batch processed files are not saving to the designated destination folder specified in the batch gui.
How can i correct this?

I am using Bridge and Photoshop CS3. I have dozens of raw files that need to be saved as .tifs. They don't need any adjusting; just a simple save as tif. Is there a way to do that in one batch without setting up my own action?

What I'm trying to do is create almost 360,000 files from scratch. You know, doing this by hand on my own would take a year. I know there is a way to batch create those files in photoshop from scratch. I know how to work with the batch function if I want to, let's say, convert 300 images. That's easy. But how do I create multiple images from scratch? Code:

I'm trying to resize a batch of a few hundred PSD files to 1000 pixels in height, keeping to the individual ratio as they are not all the same.
I thought that the image processor could do it, however it asks to specify a width value which would distort most of the images.
Various freeware batch utilities don't support transparency and flatten the PSDs so that won't do either.

batch processing Camera RAW files in PS CS3 on a Mac.
I select the files in Bridge which are cropped, and the action I've created resizes to web resolution and saves as a JPG.
But when the files are processed, the images are not cropped, but full frame.

i often scan in images, roughly 50 at a time, in the order i want them saved/numbered in. When i go to batch save, (along with some color correction and other small things) it numbers my files from the LAST image i scanned in to the first.. IE; what should be image50.jpg is image01.jpg and vice versa.. basically its doing the naming in reverse.
I never had this problem in PS7, only since moving to CS2.

I've got a batch process set up, and want to run it on all opened files. I set the destination to "Folder", because I want to use the batch process's naming facilities. When I run the batch, it closes the files it works on. However, I want to perform subsequent batch actions on the files, so need them kept open. There's no Close function included in the batch action as far as I can tell.

When i rename files in batch in Bridge CS6 the extension from my files is deleted, leaving me with exec files. Sometimes the new name is given but the extension disappears and other times the new name i wanted to give my files appears in place of the extension.
I have had this problem for a while in combination with a cache problem (every time when opening bridge it asked me to purge the cache). I seemed to be solved by renaming the cache folder cache_old and creating a new one but now the batch renaming problem has returned.

I want to create a batch action that will process raw files by setting their workflow resolution option and image settings in camera raw. I can create a batch action by recording an open command for a raw file, setting the workflow resolution and image settings, and then stopping the action recording.
This creates an open action which captures the resolution , images settings instruction , and other settings for camera raw, but it also captures the camera model and workflow options are specific to a camera model. If I then use the action on multiple raw files from different cameras, raw files from the camera specified in the 'open' step will get processed as I want, but raw files from any other camera model will get processed with whatever workflow resolution option was used the last time I manually opened a file from that model in ACR.
I tried recording an 'open' step by bringing raw files from 3 different cameras into ACR and selecting to open them in photoshop, but that created three 'open' steps, one for each camera model, in the action. Running that action produced three versions of every image from every camera model. No good.
How can I create an action that will set the workflow resolution option based on the camera model, when images from different camera models are being processed in the batch?
I am using PSCS5 and ACR 6.7

I'm sure this an easy one and I've overlooked something, but I can't seem to get the solution for this problem. I have a bitmap image of a map and I would like to split this image up into many tiles which can be saved off as seperate images. if possible I would also like to be able to specify the size and resolution of these tiles.

I am not sure about the etiquette of this as I asked the question at NAPP and have as yet gotten nothing. Of course that could be because I'm impatient and more so after I realized I stood a better chance of not just an answer but several variations on the theme.
For years I have stored my images in a folder that is named for the day they were offloaded into the Windows OS computer. I have accepted Nikon, Canon, and Olympus' name for the individual image. So an image would be E:Images20041107DSC_8765.nef.
I wish to go to my files and rename the files with the date ( the image was) actually taken by the camera. I think this is in the EXIF data but how can I access it?
What I want to end up with would have the same format up to the actual image name but the renamed image would be yyyymmdd[taken]DSC_#####.nef where the ##### would be a sequential number generated by the batch or even me.

I am trying to figure out how to batch process multiple files with Elements 11. I have installed Imagenomic Plug Ins with Elements 11. I have also installed the supplied ATN action files created by Imagenomic for Photoshop. These actions work fine with Elements 11. I need to figure out how to utilize, or select, the Noiseware Plug In option within Elements Batch Process configuration window. It appears I can only apply the default mods provided by Elements and can't see any of the Imagenomic Plug Ins as Batch Process options.
