Photoshop :: Batch Resize PSD Files To Npixels On...

Feb 25, 2008

I'm trying to resize a batch of a few hundred PSD files to 1000 pixels in height, keeping to the individual ratio as they are not all the same.

I thought that the image processor could do it, however it asks to specify a width value which would distort most of the images.

Various freeware batch utilities don't support transparency and flatten the PSDs so that won't do either.

But long ago i had to reformat and lost it and can't remember where i got it or if i made it. I've forgotten anything i knew about it by now and was hoping someone could point me to an action like this i could download.

Photoshop :: Batch Image Resize

Jan 12, 2009

I tried to build an action to scale a batch of images by 75%, but when I actually run it, it plugs in the inches from the file I built it on. So the image I built the action on ended up 8.25" wide, but it's a portrait. If I run the same action on a picture that was taken in landscape mode, it doesn't scale that image by 75%, it scales it to 8.25" wide.

How do you force a scale by percentage instead of absolute measurement?

Photoshop :: Advanced Batch Resize

Dec 6, 2004

Ive been using photoshop for a long time, and am familiar with batch processing. I have over 500 photos that I need to resize. Some are very tall and some are wide. Is there a way to make photoshop resize a image depending on what its aspect ratio is?

If I make an action with image size I can set width to 300px, which works fine for wide images. The tall images though are still to tall. If I do the same thing but instead specify height then alot of my images will be to wide. If I specify both height and width then my proportions will get messed up. Any ideas? I have to do this alot, and with ever increase number of images. Im sure someone else has solved this problem before.

Photoshop :: Batch Resize/Scale

Feb 15, 2009

I just downloaded the Photoshop CS4 trial to try something.

I need to scale and resize images for use on our web site.

Our images are not evenly proportioned, some are 400 x 400 or 400 x 200, ect.

I would like to make them scale down to fit within a 240px x 240px image.

We have thousands of images to do and 3 other sizes to scale the same images to.

Can this be done using the batch automate and record the steps?

Photoshop :: Batch Resize To Specific Size

Sep 29, 2008

I have a folder of images that range in size... but for the most part they are all smaller than the actual size I wish them to be. (For example: some are perfectly at 250 x 250. Some are 65 x 250. Some are 128 x 180. The point being that they all vary. )

What I need to do is have these images created and outputted at a size of 250 x 250. Every single one of them. Unfortunately I have 5000 that need to be resized. What I would normally do is create a new image at the size of 250 x 250 (background white) and import the smaller one (let's say 128 x 180) and center it. Then save the new one. Easy.

However, I would like to know how to do this "en batch". I'm sure it's possible, but I have very little experience with Photoshop.

Because right now i have a bunch of photos that are 2896 x 1944 pixels but i need it to resize to 1920 x 1080 for a stop motion clip. However photoshop wants to keep it in proportion and resizes it to 1608 x 1080 which is not what i want but i dont want to have to do them one at a time.

Photoshop :: Crop And Resize Portrait Photos In A Batch?

Sep 16, 2013

I have several hundred small portrait photos of different size that I need to resize to a 120 x 120 pixels size. Currently they are not 1:1. I've previously used Picasa to resize images manually, and this gives me the opportunity of easily crop and resize so that the face is not cut or looks too small. But I need to do this in a batch since I have a huge amount of pictures. So far I haven't been able to figure out if Photoshop can detect the face automatically and crop/resize around it. The batch processes I have tried to create end up with the face/head being cut on several pictures.

I'm using Photoshop CC.

Photoshop :: Batch Process To Resize Image But Limit...

Jul 5, 2009

I'm trying to create an Action that will resize images to a constant and absolute width (600px), and save as a JPEG with a filesize of less than 160kb. I've tried Image>Image size... and Save for web with only partial sucess. Image Size does not allow you to set the filesize as a parameter - you can only set the dimensions and resolution and hope that it comes out under 160kb. Save for Web does have an optimise feature, which does work for an individual image, but not for a batch. The optimisation is done by adjusting the quality of the jpeg, but when you save this as an action, it does not record this as "optimise the image for 160kb". Instead it saves just the quality % used when recording the action. Any other images processed by that action will just be saved at that %, regardless of their filesize. Is there a way to write the action so that Save for Web will dynamically optimise each image? I'm using CS3 Extended.

Photoshop :: Batch Resize With MAXIMUM Width/Height

Mar 4, 2006

I am creating a photo gallery for the web. I will store the very large original images, a large version to fit in the browser window and a thumbnail.

I am creating these using Photoshop Actions and a batch process.

The problem is for the large images I want the maximum width of the images to be 575px and the maximum height to be 525px.

This means that if the image is portrait it will be sized based on its height, but if it is landscape it will be resized based on its width. (I want to resize it proportionally obviously).

Can I make it do this in photoshop?

At the moment some images are either coming out too long or too tall.

I am having is that if the original image is smaller than what I want the large images to be then I dont want it to make it bigger.

I am using Photoshop CS[/EDIT]

Photoshop Elements :: Resize Pictures In Batch Without Using Version Copies?

Nov 22, 2012

I have been going through my catalog & find hundreds of old pictures what I should delete as they will almost certainly never be looked at or used again.  If they were to be reused I could probably only need a copy that was much smaller in size. Rather than just delete them I was considering making the files size much smaller.

Is there any way yo use the batch processing tool to resize hundreds & have them saved by overwriting the old copy rather than have them as a version set?  I didn't want to do this one at a time.

Paint.NET :: Batch Resize Enhancement

Feb 13, 2012

Am looking for batch resize enhancement. I did Select All and then did Re-size, but only got re-size on the current picture. Actually, I don't think SelectAll did anything. Wonder what its there for, actually.

Adding other utilities (paid or free) to get the re-size job done is not a valid workaround. The point is to use a utility that does it all. For actions that I do not do frequently, I can never remember which tool does which thing best. It would be preferable to have one go-to tool that meets basic editing and file needs and is easy to use. I am thinking paint.net may be mostly for advanced editing.

I ended up using MS Picture Manager for this task, but in folders that need selective selections (e.g. select all pics > 2Kmb), they don't support n-to-n-selection with ctrl-shift.I had to use Explorer to copy the desired folders to a temp folder then use MS-PM to Select-All and Batch Resize; then copy back. blech. There once was a uploader tool from a website photo hosting site I had used in the past that did batch resize, but couldn't remember which or where it was.

I used %percentage reductions, maintaining aspect ratio. I can see that h x w absolute measurements might be tricky in batch mode.

Paint.NET :: Batch Resize Images

Oct 22, 2011

If you can re-size batch images in paint.net, I'd like to know how you usually go about doing that. Just today I downloaded from a blog a some odd 40 game screenshots, in what looked like a standard widescreen resolution. After checking the dimensions on the pictures, I found that they were all 1920x1079...... Being off by 1 pixel is bad, enough to make me go crazy, so I opted to edit them into the 1920x1080 resolution. I found a plugin that would add in a batch re-sizer and it worked. But upon closer inspection, it blurred my original image just slightly. Thats even worse than being off by 1 pixel.

So, I came across this layer saver executable.. I opened all the images in one canvas as layers, re-sized the canvas by 1 pixel, saved the lot as a PDN, then extracted all the layers as a brand new perfect image except for 1 column of pixels. Other than re-naming everything in ordered numbers, it works perfectly. But still, I have to know, is there anything just as good that can be within paint.net?

Illustrator :: Batch Export Of EPS To BMP Files Creates Extra EPS / AI Files

Dec 20, 2012

A simple action.

If I run the action on one file, it works perfect.
 If I try to run it as a batch, it creates the bmp files fine.
But it also creates either a .ai file, or two .eps files!

Writing one or two extra files signifiantly shows the process down.

After I run the batch it is not hard to simply delete the extra .eps/ai files of course.

But writing those files seriously slows the process down, and I have about 89,000 more files to go.

AutoCAD .NET :: Batch Converting CTB Files To STB Files?

Nov 19, 2009

As an organization, we have opted to go with STB as we have some complicated requirements that CTB doesn't accommodate. The wisdom of that decision is a moot point and I'm aware of the vast array of opinion.

We have a legacy of CTB drawings that occassionally need to be brought forward when projects get resurrected (state government highway designs are prone to getting shelved).

Up to AutoCAD 2009, I've had a VBA routine that performed a few operations on a list of files stored in a text file:

- Open the file

- Convert to STB using "CONVERTPSTYLES" with a specified STB file.

- Run a script to load a layer state file to change the plot styles from Style1, Style2 etc, to their correct named plot styles.

- Manage a recalcitrant layer that refused to play ball.

- Save and close the document

- Get the next file........

This was all fine until 2010 came along with the announcement that VBA was to be phased out. 2010 is OK with the VBA enablers, but now I've got some work to do.

Our organisation's development language is C# and I'm using Visual Studio 2008 Professional Edition to develop my C# .NET code.

Is there another mechanism than "SendStringToExecute" for sending a command such as convertpstyles to AutoCAD and getting .NET to wait for it to finish before proceeding.

I've got CommandEnded code that handles waiting for MTEXT and DTEXT commands to finish and I've tried constructing a CommandEnded for CONVERTPSTYLES, but it seems to me that commands that throw dialogue boxes such as CONVERTPSTYLESand SCRIPT aren't handled the same way.

I've tried setting FILEDIA to 0 prior to running the CONVERTPSTYLES command, however the message box that CONVERTPSTYLES presents before asking for the STB file appears to be getting in the way.
