Photoshop :: Save In Background Not Working In CS6
May 3, 2012Do not see that the Save In Background is working. I have 300MB Tiff files that are being saved to the local harddisk in Windows 7 with CS6. It takes about 10 seconds to save the file both with and without Save in the Background being selected.

Why might the Background Eraser tool have stopped working? The settings I am currently using are Sampling: Once; Limits: Discontiguous; Tolerance: 100%; Protect Foreground Color: checked.
I wanted to remove a head and shoulders photo portrait from a background, and to do so, I generally followed the instructions on a YouTube video tutorial by Ali Baba entitled How to Remove Background Around Lots of Hair Photoshop;
which showed to use the eraser tool.
My background was an off white color, with a shadow from the subject on some of it. I made a layer on top of the photo and filled it with red (instead of the dark blue in the video, so it would contrast more with the black hair of my subject); then I copied the photo into a layer and put it on top of the red (unlike the video where he erased off the original.) Then I erased away the background. Then I took the steps shown to work around the hair. At that time, the background was still not closely erased around the ears and shoulders and I put the job away for a while.
When I came back, I used the Quick Selection to select the area from the entire right side that wasn't erased yet. But I didn't know how to erase the selection, so I went back to the Background eraser and erased the rest of the right side away. Then I deleted the selection.
For some reason, however, I am not able to erase any more on the left side, and I am stymied as to why not.
Photoshop :: Composite Photo In CS4 - Background Not Working?
Jun 2, 2012I'm moving pictures of people onto a backround of flowers and plants. I've used the magic wand and polygonal lasso to get the people on to the backround. That works fine, except the backround near the persons hair shows up as a halo or line around them or I see the backround between the starnds of hair.
How do I have the person show up on the backround without lines or the backround from where I moved the person from. I hope this makes sense., I'm using CS4
Photoshop Elements :: Active Tab - Background Outside Working Space Completely Black Instead Of Usual Gray
Jan 1, 2014I have Photoshop Elements 8 and just recently it changed a bit. When on the active tab (any tab) the background outside my working space is completely black instead it's usual gray. I don't know how it happened but I would like it back to normal. I've attached my screenshot below.

GIMP :: Set Foreground / Background Colour Not Working?
Jan 28, 2013i am trying to make a blueprint out of 3 view image to be exported to 3ds max for modelling using Gimp 2.8.2.
I want the backgound colour to be a light shade of blue and the foreground colour (the black outlines of the aircraft) to be a dark shade of blue
I have separated each of the views into separate layers, then tried to add 2 new layers (one for the foreground and one for the background) but cannot seem to get the "set foreground/background" function to work. It just goes a shade of black all of the time irrespective of what colour i choose.
AutoCad 2D :: Background Mask Not Working Over Viewports
Nov 12, 2010How come my background masks on text no longer mask the background?!
I have looked done new drawings and it works. It also works in the drawing in question but only over items in paperspace, it does not work over the viewports.
If you select the text you can see that the mask is there.
I tried draw order but everytime I did it everything always seemed to back to "back" even if I just changed it to "front"
Another draftee had worked on these drawings but I doubt he would have sabotaged them (and he wouldnt know how..)
I have seen this happen randomly before.

Jun 30, 2011I'm very new to corel and i just finished designing a poster but i need to add logos. the problem i'm having is that they're in jpeg and they have a white background. i need to remove the white background. i've tried the magic wand and then going to mask and invert. the problem with this is that i can still see quite a bit of white around the logo. An easier way or do i need to go in and clean up the edges in photo paint's cut out lab? i can do this but it just seems like a lot of work and i have to work with about 15 logos.

Aug 24, 2011I seem to be having problems when I lasso round a specific part of a photo taken with a white background and then try to add that part of the image to a plain #000000 black background.
I always seem to get a white outline around the image when I place it on the black background, even when its on ZERO feathered. I don't like using feathered as it adds a smudge round the outside of the image.

Sep 16, 2011I was asked to cut out the background from a logo to make it transparent so the logo would look nice on a variety of backgrounds. I've been given a good quality jpeg file.
What I did was I selected (by colour) the background (white), inverted the selection, copied it and pasted as a new image.
It's all fine (the logo itself doesn't have any other elements) but there's still some whiteish/greyish outline around certain elements of the logo.
If I were to do it manually, it'd probably take ages. What would be the best way to accomplish it?

I don't want to re-size it or lose image quality, the background for this can be easily replicated through some simple editing (drawing strait lines with the paint brush tool, and basically filling in to expand the background) Is there a way to do this? Here is the picture I want to change:

I just want it so that the pin-wheel design extends outward as to make the entire image 1920-1200, rather then the 1920-1080 it is now. (without losing image quality of the center wheel.)

Aug 31, 2013HDR Pro was working fine for me a few months ago, but now it just will not get off the ground. there are no Message boxes appearing either, and it looks as if it's just crashing.
My system is an iMac with the following:
8gb RAM 1600Mhz DDR3
3 TB fusion drive
3.2Ghz intel Core i5
OS X Version 10.8.4
Camera: Nikon D7000
When I try to merge 3 RAW files in to HDR Pro it will start stacking the images but at the end returns to the Photoshop App screen with no trace of the HDR screen. I have gone in to preferences> Interface> checked the box 'Open documents as tabs' but this is not working.

Nov 28, 2012When using "Edit in Photoshop CS6" from Lightroom 4 I just go into Photoshop CS6, not Adobe Camera Raw (ACR). Cannot access ACR directly from within Photoshop either.
It works from Bridge tho'. Have checked out many forums and see other people with this problem, but main response, to remove com.adobe.Photoshop.plist from Library/Preferences, or reinstalling Photoshop and Lightroom, do not resolve it for me. All software, including Camera Raw (7.2.0.46) is up to date. Use 16 GB iMac and OS X 10.8.2.
Photoshop :: CC 3D Not Working?
Oct 28, 2013I am running on an AMDPhenom 6cpu 3.2 Ghz machine with 24GB of memory and 64bit, Windows 7. Graphics card is ATI FireGL V7700 with 512Mb of memory. When I try to create text in 3D, the 3D options are all greyed out.
I forgot to add that I am on CC version 14.1.2. The gpu OGLVersion=3. Is it possible that AMD V7700 is not supported for 3D on Photoshop? I do have the "Use graphics Processor" checked in the Performance tab of Preferences.
Photoshop :: Alt Key Is Not Working
Aug 15, 2012I am trying to use the cloning tool, however, the ALT key does not seem to work.
Every time, I use ALT and click it comes up with the following message: "the area to clone has not been defined. Use Option Click to define area." Basically, when I press the ALT key on my keyboard it resizes the screen and gets rid off the Tools bar and menu in Photoshop CS4.

Apr 22, 2008I have two compositions that I've been working with in CS2 on my laptop running XP pro 32bit and when I transfer the files to my workstation at home running XP pro x64, I have issues with the file. If I try to use the eraser or the brush tool, nothing happens. Is this a bug with x64 or do I need to change some settings? I just recently upgraded to x64 for the increased RAM capabilities and this is the first time I've tried to use CS2 since upgrading.
