Pictures shot with a Nikon D300 set to Adobe RGB, _DSCxxx.NEF, open in Bridge with no thumbnails or Camera Raw options and can't open in Photoshop. Photoshop color space is set to Adobe RGB (1998)
View 5 RepliesWhenever i open up photoshop or illustrator itll work fine sometimes and sometimes it wont work at all. Illustrator sometimes gives me the msg "Could not request ..." and when I click on New image it doesnt display all the options. Itll leave out the OK and CANCEL buttons and several other options sometimes. And sometimes Ill be able to create a file but i cant save... And sometimes when all this is happening I cant open any new windows on my computer and cant do any tasks at all on my pc..
other times when i think it works perfectly some of the options for different tools wont work at all...
when i tried to opened the PNG or GIF files that i save earlier, photoshop CS3 just wont open it. It keeps giving me a messages saying "Could not complete your request because the file-format module cannot parse the file". I even reinstall the photoshop, but still receiving the same problem.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI'm running photoshop cs3 and recently every time I try and open a file nothing happens, well what happens is I see the open file box pop up and disappear and then I can not do anything in PS, every time I click something I hear a noise and thats it, I have to restart Photoshop.
The only way to open a file is if I drag and drop a file in PS.
I'm running windows XP service pack 2 if that helps at all, and yes I have reinstalled and the problem still persists.

Why will PSE 9 not open my .CR2 file from my Canon EOS 5D MK iii. It worked perfectly well with files from 7D!

when i attempt to open a particular psd it tells me file cannot be opened because it is not compatible with this version of photoshop. it was built in cs3 and worked like 5 hrs before i tried to open it to work on it didn't save it when i opened it the last time(as in i just opened it on my pc to show some one n closed it )
Photoshop CS4 will not open, when I try and open it I get "An unexpected and unrecoverable problem has occurred because of a disk error. Photoshop will now exit." Bridge is working fine?

So I clicked the OK button and then I could not click all buttons even Close button. I still have to press CTRL+ALT+DEL to close or I have to restart the whole PC.

I downloaded with CD yesterday; I downloaded many photos from my camera and everything seemed to work fine. Today, I can access the photos with the "Organizer" and do quick fixes, but I cannot access the full Editor. I am going down to the "EDITOR" buttom on the Task Bar at the bottom of my screen. I click this button and nothing happens. Also pls note that I cannot access the Editor from the shortcut that the installation put on my desktop.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSince applying the latest Microsoft updates to XP/SP3 last week I can now no longer add Open Type 1 or Type 1 fonts to Fonts in Windows, and therefore can't add more fonts for use in Photoshop CS3. I tried a new hard drive, reloaded with XP/SP3 plus updates and the exact same thing occurs. Any of those types of fonts I try to add come up as corrupt/can't load, when in fact they are not corrupt and the exact same font files load with no problem in another XP/SP3 machine that hasn't had the updates applied, and they also load without a hitch in a Vista machine. Anyone else, who has all the updates installed noticing this? Anyone have a solution? I know that this isn't exactly 100% related to Photoshop only, but it does affect the program.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAdobe accepts only NVIDIA and ATI series of video cards. I just bought a Sony laptop with a different video card (INDVID-001637-64) with 1.8 GB onboard RAM and with Open GL capabilities but PS CS4 extended 64bit does not recognize the card. Is there a work-around to get PS to recognize this card or am I just not going to be able to use the Open GL for PS. I have been to Sony Vaio to see if there are any other possibilities but can't find any updates that work on my particular computer. I am running a Windows Home Premium Vista, 64 bit system with 4 GB of RAM so I am sure all of that is OK. I just don't know where else to go for information except back to where I purchased the computer. Maybe replace the video board if possible. Or maybe Open GL just isn't worth going to the trouble. Seems like that might be the case also according to some of the discussion here.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the Adobe Font Folio (Open Type) but I don't know where to start. I do a lot of small ads and so I use a lot of small type.
Does anyone know which fonts in this pack are good for small type? Maybe something thick that will look better at a smaller font size.
I've tried going through the fonts by highlighting the font name in the box and using the arrow keys to rifle through them, but as you know, it highlights what's on the page, making it near to impossible to see how the font would actually look if it weren't highlighted.
I really like Adobe Camera Raw. Is there a way to set the default open options to ACR? I'd like to particularly have jpgs and Tiffs open with ACR.
I'm using PSE11 on Windows 7. My ACR version is 7.1.
I can open one JPEG at a time, or multiple Raw images in ACR.
Have checked other sources including Barbara Brundage "The Missing Manual" but whilst it does not specifically say you cannot, likewise there is no indication that you can.
Is there any way to save/open files in Adobe products using the general Windows format, i.e. where you could copy & paste a folder location into your address bar. I work on multiple projects across a complex network and I have to manually navigate through all the folders each time, and I can't copy & paste a location like I could if I was browsing through Windows normally. Also you can't save favorite locations?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have resized my stock files to 640x433, 72dpi, JPEG, for cataloging to Extensis Portfolio 7 and CDRs. These images are in numbers folders, according to subjects. The problem is when I initially open an image it asks for the color profile. I want it Adobe 1998 RGB, the same as my master TIFF files.
How can I just do this process by the folder for all images within it.?
Do I have to, for example, open all 2000 files, assign the profile and then save individually?

InDesign opened fine, but in the dock Illustrator and Photoshop have diagonal lines through them. I tried opening Illustrator and got this message: "You can't open the application Adobe Illustrator CS6 because it is not supported on this type of Mac." My MacBook Pro is 3-4 years old--a 2 GHz Intel Core Duo, 2GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM, Model Identifier: MacBook Pro1,1. I double checked the OS required by CS6 and it's 10.6.8.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI just downloaded Apple's new operating system "OS X Version 10.9" (Maverick). When I tried to open Adobe After Effects CS6 (which I purchased within the last year), immediately the following message came up (it wouldn't even open):
"You can't use this version of the application 'Adobe After Effects CS6' with this version of OS X.
You have 'Adobe After Effects CS6' 11.0."
When I googled this problem, I discovered that I could download "Adobe After Effects CC 12.0.1 Update." When I did this, the following message came up when I clicked "AdobePatchInstaller" :
"Update Failed
Updates could not be applied
This patch is not applicable for you. Pleas check for updates from the Help menu in your product to see a list of the latest updates available.
If the problem persist, contact customer support for further assistance."
The problem with those instructions, is that I can't even open the application to access the "Help menu" inside.
Is there a way to disable the keyboard shortcut which opens Adobe Bridge from Illustrator? Often when I'm working quickly I accidentally hit this (option command o) instead of (shift command o) to outline type. It halts everything to open Bridge, which I never use. Is there any way to disable this command?
