View 1 RepliesI have had my second activation of Photoshop CS 5 on a backup computer that has no internet connection. I needed to change the operating system (Windows 7 Home to Windows 7 Professional). I called up Adobe, and told the technician that I was de-activating CS 5, reformatting the hard drive, then I was going to re-activate Photoshop. He gave me a case number so that the next technician could easily understand what I was doing and what I needed.
The first time I installed Photoshop on this backup computer, I contacted Customer Service. The technician had me do several things to get to an activation screen. I gave him both the serial number and an installation code. He then used them to generate a unique activation code, which I typed in to activate Photoshop. I had Photoshop on that computer, working, for a year.
I called on August 30, after the re-formatting and installing the new operating system, I called Customer Service to get re-activating Photoshop.
The first technician said I could not reactivate Photoshop. The second technician said it could be done, but not at his level and he would escalate the case, and someone would call me.After no calls, I tried again on 09/05. I was transferred to the manager. He said it could not be done, but he would escalate the case to the "expert team," and that someone from that team would call me "tomorrow" (09/06).
Along the way, one technician said I did not need to reactivate Photoshop because when I called about deactivating Photoshop, that technician assigned a special number that would obviate the need to reactivate. How did my computer, off-line, and my software, on a proprietary disk, know that number?
I am no closer to activating CS6.I do not have an internet connection on the machine I am installing it on. I have the disk. But, no way to activate it.
Spent an hour waiting for the adobe installer to download on this machine and it never gave a code - couldn't even find one.How do I activate CS6 - or did I waste the money and need to send the disk back and quit this stuff?
I need to activate my license on my replacement computer, but I cannot because I have reached the two computer limit.

I am going to purchase a new desktop and would like to install CS5 on the new computer, but it was already installed on two computers (desktop and laptop) so no activations are left. I have the Disk and serial number.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have recently installed Photoshop CS3 on a newer PC which runs Windows 7 Home Premium, after the programme was locked on a PC running Vista which died on me and which I have just had repaired. However since installing the programme, every time I turn my PC off and then on again next morning, I have lost the internet.
I have been getting around the problem by running the HP network check and the automatic repair that it performs is to "reset the Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller Adapter". However this only works until the PC is turned off again and then I have to do the whole process again. Is there a way to fix this problem permanently? I was hoping there would be an update from Adobe that might sort the problem, but Adobe don't seem to be able to work with that as they say the programme is too old and don't have online support for this.
I have followed everything that is suggested by HP i.e. rebooting the modem and router.
If I reset the PC to before the programme was installed the problem goes away. When I reinstall the problem comes back. Its definitely to do with the Photoshop programme, but I don't understand why.
When I have copied something and go to paste the image in PhotoShop CS3, something causes my system to open a connection to the Internet for several seconds (maybe 15) before I can paste. I have checked my system for all sorts of virus issues, fearing key recording software, but I don't have anything like that. I've been told by our IT person (who checked my system) that there is something Adobe is doing. Is this true? Why does PhotoShop need to make this connection?
View 9 Replies View Relatedregarding Photoshop CS3. Whenever I import a photo into Photoshop it locks up for about 20 seconds then the picture shows up. I opened up the task manager and it shows that during the 20 second lockup period my PC is sending data through the Internet. Once I disconnect from my network and try to import a photo it loads instantly. So my question is why is Photoshop transferring data whenever I import a photo? Is there anyway to disable whatever it is doing so it does not lock up?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a setup where I have a wireless mouse and a Genius MousePen 8x6 Tablet both plugged into the computer at the same time (Windows 7). I'm wondering if Photoshop recognizes one device as primary (the mouse) and ignores pressure input from the 'secondary' device (the tablet), because I'm not currently getting pressure input from a tablet that I have gotten pressure from many times before. I'm using Photoshop CS2 in this specific instance, but I'd imagine the question would apply to newer versions as well.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have elements 5 and a new windows 8 computer. My downloader does not open at all when camera is connected or dows the downloader icon show up at the bottom right as before. If I go into the photoshop menu and click get photos from camera, it says camera is busy or not connected. When I first mentioned my problem someone said to download a certain service patch which I did. All that did was make the icon for the downloader go away and not it will not open at all. Is this all because of windows 8? I had XP before. If the elements 5 will not work on new window 8, then I should just get rid of it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to do this for ages but i just cannot do it! I designed something in Photoshop and opened it in ImageReady to add links. I then clicked 'Save Optimized As...' and saved it under 'HTML and images'. I then found each of the images of my design in an image folder and the actual HTML of it outside the folder. When I open the HTML, the design opens up in internet explorer with the links working. But now I don't know how to actually place my design on my website. I have tried to use Macromedia Dreamweaver but when I copy the HTML code to my website, the design appears with small red crosses, not showing it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI normally work with a Macbook connected to a 23" Cine display. Pulled the Macbook off the display, opened Photoshop, and the bottom of all the action panels (actions, layers, channels, etc...) are below the lower edge of the screen and there appears to be no way to recover them.
The program is essentially useless until I can get connected to a big display, simply to click on the bottom of these panels. What's the secret to resizing these?
I have a external monitor connected to a laptop so there are two monitors used at the same time. The external monitor is having somewhat different constract and tone display result from the first one. So due to the different contrast setting, my external monitor is having a greater constrat than my main monitor, therefore a picture looks more constrasty in my external monitor. That being described, let me explain what the problem I have.
When I paint using Photoshop CC, I found that Photoshop seems to automatically adjust it's constrast display of that picture while moving around in the different monitor. In this case, I have Photoshop window opened in my external monitor and it has automatically reduced contrast without me noticing, so that the picture in Photoshop in my external monitor looks like having same contrast in that of my main monitor. It's not until I finish my paint and closed Photoshop and opened my paint using AcdSee did I spot the problem. All of a sudden the picture become way more contrasty than what I've been working on in my Photoshop application.
I was wondering what happened and did some testing. And it turns out while my Photoshop is opened in the external monitor. it will decrease the contrast of whatever displayed in it, if I move it back to the main monitor, the constrast is back.
This problem only happensin the case where I havce more than one monitor working. If I only have my main or external monitor on, Photoshop will not auto adjust the contrasts even the the contrasts of two monitors are different.
This have giving me a huge problem. With this auto adjust contrast thing I will not be able to produce accurate picture result because I do not have a fixed standard to look onto. Even the external monitor is contrasty at least I know I can expect the result I produced to be the same as that I see in the photoshop so different monitor doesn't matter. But now since Photoshop is reducing the contrast somehow I get a much contrasty result than I will have expect once I close Photoshop and open that picture in other application.
I took this by placing Photoshop between two monitors so the picture is slipt in two. As you can see Photoshop will auto adjust the contrast in the external monitor so one picture is having two completely different effect! Since monitor contrasts are not reflected in screenshot so you can clearly see the differences.
The reason I say photoshop adjusted the contrast is because I can see this happening, when I drag it to the second monitor without releaseing the mouse, the picture in it is still the same across two monitors. But once I release it, after one second the part in the external monitor changes.
I use a MBP connected it to an Apple Cinema Display used as an external monitor (not a dual display) when in my studio.
When I use Adobe Photoshop CS 5 without the monitor the image window does not display on the MBP. If I plug the external monitor in, the window is displayed correctly on the MBP. Photoshop is opening and "displaying" the image window offscreen. Nothing gets it back onscreen, except plugging in the external monitor.
I often use Photoshop away from my studio so this is a big problem. PShop is essentially unusable unless connected to an external monitor.
I just deleted a folder before I should have. Now I need to edit a photo that's still in Elements Organizer but it won't let me do anything because there's no connected file. Is there any way I can get at this picture to edit it?

But when I publish the photos on-line they come out dark and murky. I've tried this on different computers to different websites, with the same results. I've never had this issue with prior PS versions.
I've tried Save for Web, I've tried just Save As, but always with the same poor results.
Error message (No connection - Please check you internet settings and/or firewall. Waiting for connection....)
I have attempted to check all internet settings in my Google Chrome browser and in the Windows firewall I have included it as an "Allowed Connection". Still no joy, unable to connect and of course no updates?
Running Windows 7, SP1, with all updates.
My Photoshop CS6 always crashes when I lose my Internet connection...why? This is really aggravating, particularly when I am traveling with my laptop and try to use Photoshop. As long as I have an Internet connection it is fine, but as soon as the Internet is no longer available the program stops working.
View 13 Replies View RelatedI am using Photoshop CC with Windows 7 64-bit and all plugins have issues detecting my internet connection. When trying to use them, an error message pops up saying "No internet connection detected." I am connected to the internet, am able to connect to Adobe servers, and am not using a firewall or connecting through a proxy server. I have checked my plugin settings in preferences to make sure plugins are allowed to use connections, and have tried editing the registry values in Windows to make sure that all Adobe products automatically connect to the internet, but still have had no luck. Plugins I am trying to use are Kuler and Subtle Patterns (a third party plugin).
