I have cs5 extended student and teacher edition - Windows - there is a top level 3D menu available to me. But when I follow instructions to create 3D text, the 3D options are unavailable to me.
View 5 RepliesI bought the PS CS3 Extended Student Edition and I have registered on the Adobe website to get my serial number which all went fine, but when I put the Disc in the drive, it does not appear on My Computer,Desk Top for me to open and upload photoshop to my computer! I have put the disc into another hard drive and attached it to my monitor but still nothing comes up! I have tried it on a completely different computer and it appears then, just not on mine! My computer seems to be working fine as I am able to upload other discs to it!

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm currently working on a design in 3ds Max 2013 Student Edition. When I first found out about 3d modelling, the creativity peaked my interest greatly and since Mesh became available in Second Life and Inworldz, I have since been self teaching myself from Max tutorials.
2 years ago approximately, I downloaded the 3ds Max 2013 from the Autodesk site and upon installing it, the program crashed at 96% faithfully everytime. When I asked how to resolve this, I was told to download the trial version and put the code to authenticate the software, it then went from 30 day trial to student edition.
I have since been using 3ds Max 2013 updating the FBX converter to work with Second Life and Inworldz making low poly designs.
Now my current design has 3587 polys and 6,239 vertices, when I move close to my design and select edge, then insert vertex, 3ds Max says it encountered an error and gives me the option to save my scene or cancel to close Max. 100% of the time, if I say save scene, my scene is automatically corrupt and I have to go to a previous save.
No I am not entitled to install the PU's (Patch Updates) since its a student edition and I don't have the money to purchase 3ds Max 2013.
I have repeatedly attempted to export a simple drawing as a PDF and it doesn't take. I get an error message that the plot failed because there is nothing to plot (paraphrased).
Does export as a PDF not work or not in the Student version or?
When I go on Photoshop CS5.1 extended, and choose "3D" "Repousse" than I click on "Text Layer" it brings up a message saying this: "Your 3D scene now exceeds the limits of lights and/or textures for the video card's hardware-accelerated 3D rendering. As long as the limits are exceeded, 3D rendering will be done in software only, and some features (E.g. Repousse) will be disabled" then when I click "Okay" it brings up another message saying this: "Could not complete the Text Layer command because of a program error." then I click 'Okay' again and nothing happens, what does this mean?
My video card is: Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family and is up to date.I have 64bit Operating System and my Installed Memory(RAM) is 2.00GB.

View 2 Replies View RelatedUnable to use 3D repousse Photoshop CS5 Extended (my system info is described below)I tried almost everything that is available in Adobe library, also re-installed programs as requested by Adobe support (suspected to get rid of me), it did not solve the problem.
I used to have 3D capabilities, and also crop tool worked well before (now it changes all layers when using crop even in background). My PC is same, nor I downloaded plugins or changed video cards (these things are too advanced for me!), also restored preferences many times.
My system makes automatic updates, reviewed graphics and adobe as recommended. OpenGL settings is odd …only can access basic, other modes are not highlighted (normal or advanced).
ERRORS (for 3D Text)

Is it possible that I have a GPU Sniffer? all these terms I have learned recently =) but I have a healthy & capable graphic card and accepted by adobe standards.

Does the trial version provide full 3d tool capabilities? Before downloading over 800 MB and using even more space for installation, it would be great to know! :P
(I am only intererested in upgrading from CS3 for the ability to paint 3d models).
I searched Adobe's site extensively to see if the trial has "full" features or limitations, but it mentions neither.
Where/how do I find this in PS6 extended full edition.

Imported some type from Illustrator as a path and trying to use Repousse to make a 3D layer from it. However, the letters that are usuallu "punched out" (a,o,r,p,etc) are solid. How do you convert so that they look correct?

I can't, for the life of me, get Repousse to work!!I'm trying to extrude a logo I've created.... BUT I've also tried to repousse a text layer and a Shape layer, just to test it... and NOTHING.
I have been needing to use the 3D feature in photoshop and when I have come round to it the feature doesnt seem to work. I have tried updating, but the update link in Photoshop is greyed out. I have version 14.0. My laptop is what I'm using now but it doesnt work on my desktop machine either. This is my laptops system info:

I have been reading around the internet and I have gathered it may be to do with me not being able to update my photoshop or me not being able to turn on OpenGL, which I managed to do on my desktop but still, no luck.
I was studying this tutorial: [URL] The first time I did it, I reached the result with no problem. But now, a little while later, when I tried to use:
3D > Repoussé > Layer Mask (Step 5 - Tutorial)
The following error message was delivered (image attached):

I'm trying to Repousse a layer mask of this semi complex shape But when I try to Repousse, it fills in the interior, and only extrudes the outline portion (See how it fills the inside with the gray material)
View 7 Replies View RelatedI purchased this resume template online and had no problems saving it as a Photoshop PDF file with the original file.
But once I made my own changes to the resume template, as seen below I kept getting the "I keep getting the error "Preserve photoshop editing capabilities" is incompatitable with earlier versions of Phootshop. In earlier versions, you must open the PDF as a Generic PDF (not as a Photoshop PDF)" whenever I save my file as a Photoshop PDF.
I'm using Photoshop CS6 on a Macbook Retina Display. I made sure I checked the "Layers" in the "Saved As" dialog, so not sure why its causing my Photoshop PDF files to look faint.

For example, if I have a photo of a red car on a multi-color, complex background where there are NO other red colors exist on the picture, other than the body of the car, then such selection (that I need help with) suppose to select all shades of red on the photo, which is only the body of the car.

First, what (If any) image processing capabilities (such as any further highlight recovery/adjustment, or individual color channel enhancement/ saturation improvement, etc.) are unavailable in Lightroom (LR) or Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) if one opens-with/inputs-or-imports-to LR (or ACR), a Linear DNG (linDNG) image file (which by its ‘linearized’ nature has already had certain image attributes ‘baked’ therein), and what image processing capabilities are fully available in LR/ACR for such a linDNG image in an unrestricted/fully-further-adjustable manner?
Second, is the output file produced by Adobe’s DNG converter when one inputs to it (say) a Nikon NEF raw-image file a (what I refer to as) Raw DNG (rawDNG, akin to those that some camera manufacturers’ cameras are now directly storing on memory cards at image capture), or a linDNG (akin to those produced by various RAW converters such as DxO Optics Pro and Capture One Pro)? If the former, is it possible to apply Adobe’s DNG converter to a linDNG input file (and thereby, effectively, ‘unbake’ whatever settings had earlier been ‘baked’ into that linDNG so that the resulting rawDNG would be once more ENTIRELY/UNRESTRICTEDLY further adjustable in LR/ACR?
Third, if one uses either LR or ACR to open/access/edit a linDNG image file, performs some non-destructive image adjustments on that image with that software platform, and saves the results as a new/differently-named DNG file, will that resulting new DNG file be yet another linDNG-format file, or a rawDNG-format file?
Currently I am running PhotoShop extended CS5, 64bit. in which i have my fovorite plugins (Topaz, Nik and OneOne) running perfectly.
I have upgraded to Adobe Creative Cloud and installed PhotoShop extended CS6 using Adobe Application Manager as recommended. It didn't ask me if I wanted to upgrade or do a new install for PhotoShop. So now I CS6 running with no Plug-ins. I need my plugins! LOL.
I tried pointing to additional plugins in the CS6 preference to the CS5 plugin folder. Upon Launch it gave me a whole slew of error messages saying something cant load or launch C+ runtime error or what not. It does open up, but it only gives access to Nik and Topaz. OnOne doesn't show up under filters or extensions.
So, what are my options?
Just copy the plugins from CS5 to CS6?
I dont't want to reinstall all the plugins to CS6 if I don't have to as I've auto updated them over time to current versions online, so only have installation files for my original purchases.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to play a video that I created from my Panasonic LUMIX DMC-TZ5 digital camera. When I try to play this file, it only operates in fast forward.
This file that I am playing was copied from a CD. (I made the video with my camera, copied it onto my computer, then burned this video onto a CD.) So it seems like I lost some information by copying from my camera onto my computer. Is there something I can do to fix this so I can play at a normal speed?
