I'm working on a 3D file at the moment with a free 3D robot I sourced from Turbosquid (I created a new head etc for it) and all is fine, renders fine and looks good.

However, now I want to make some adjustments, and also isolate the robot on it's own for a separate file, but as soon as I edit anything on the PSD I lose all sight of the robots body and arms!!
Exporting an .obj file from Maya with several meshes, but when I import it to Photoshop it is only one mesh, so I can't hide specific peices. How do you lot get around this, seems like all .obj files are always one mesh, am I wrong?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy company requires us to use two master project files instead of one and my problem is that i can add both .ipj files into the Projects navigator in Inventor and set one as the current project, but as soon as i close the navigation window and reopen it (presumably to switch to the other project) the project that is not the active project disappears from the navigation window. Â The .ipj file still exists, it just doesnt show in the navigator and i have to browse to find it again. Â This problem happens no matter which project i set to be currently active. Â How can i keep that from happening?
View 8 Replies View RelatedOne of my users has a strange problem. While editing a drawing (opened from the network), the drawing switches to read-only when she tries to save it, and the .dwg file on the network folder from which she opened the file disappears. The lock files are still there, but the .dwg is gone. She can do a Save As, so she hasn't lost any work (yet!), but the problem has me perplexed.
This problem started when we converted her to Civil 3D 2011. At the same time we also upgraded her to Windows 7 64-bit.
I have about 20 other users on this same platform, she's the only one who's had this problem. I've done a repair install but that didn't fix it. I haven't yet done a full uninstall & reinstall, maybe that's what I should do next.
I have a network recovery bin application running on the server, but it has no record of the file being deleted.
Recently upgrade to ACad 2012 from 2002 and have a Designjet 500 at my office and am having trougble with a dot hatch in .plt files being sent to my printshop.At my office, I'm using a Designjet.pc3 file for both the 2002 and 2012 dwg files and they plot identically, no problem.
In creating a .plt file using a 750c.pc3 file for both 2002 and 2012 files for my printshop, the plt file for 2002 plots fine but the plt file for 2012 omits the dot hatch. Other hatches on both drawing plot fine. In print preview in both ACads both files show the dot hatch. I'm using ABviewer to check the hatch problem so I don't have to keep bothering my printshop about this. With the 2002 plt file it looks fine but in the 2012 plt file the dot hatch is missing. ABviewer shows results consistant w/ my printshop.
Am using identical pc3 files and identical CTB files. This problem goes across all my drawings....all hatches work between 02 and 12 except the dot hatch. All drawings were qsaved into 2012 from 2002 when I ungraded cads.
I have created a new 750c.pc3 file and the problem is found in that as well.Attached are just small samples of the problem showing 2002 and 2012 examples.I can only believe I am missing a setting somewhere in 2012 or there is a problem between 2012 and the 750c print driver.
I have an assembly that has somewhere a hole with a round bar that exactly fits in this hole. But when meshing the assembly, the mesh of the hole and the mesh of the bar are different.
The result is that the different parts do only seem to touch each other at the edges of the mesh, resulting in high stresses.

I tried to made a derived part from the assembly, but that one does not finish meshing. After 48 hours, the progress bar is still half way. While the one above did finish in about 15 minutes. What can I do to make the meshes match?
In some drawings, parts and trail lines will randomly disappear or get rearranged. Once the parts disappear, the only way we're able to get them back is by copy and paste the explosion into the presentation file and regenerate the view.what happened to the .idw file and how it should look.
We've tried replacing the video card and repairing the Inventor installation, but still experience the same issue on some drawings.Running Inventor 2008 on Windows XP.
I thought they were supposed to appear when the Polygon shelf is selected? I don't see them. In fact, when I select different shelves the menu items on the right half of the task bar don't change at all. Is this normal?
This is Maya 2011 on Mac OS X Lion.
We are using a file created by another company and making additions to it for Interiors. While working in this file we have added some new layers and have begun to hatch new walls. While hatching some of these wall my boss received a message saying that the file had errors. He saved and closed the file at that point. When he re-opened the file a number of lines were missing from the file.
They appear to be completely random - i.e. parts of chairs are missing but not the whole chair, parts of walls but not whole walls. The things missing were not all on the same layer and were not necessarily items that had been hatched.
Note - we are running 2012 and the files were created in 2007
I open a 3D file imported from the 3ds Max in the AutoCAD but when it opened in the AutoCAD, it full of meshes.

Is it possible to transfer pose bones(weights) from one Mudbox file to another to use them for another mesh? I can see that one can maybe use .fbx and Maya path but not everyone has Maya or a Maya user.

it can be opened in inventor and is shown as a mesh object. Then I tried the plugin "Autodesk Mesh Enabler" to turn it into a solid. After almost an hour it produced something of 350mb, but it cannot be opened anymore, it crashes inventor immediately. Are there any settings to that plugin to reduce the number of elements that it creates?
I heard Mesh4CAD is a similar tool for autocad. I am installing autocad now, hoping that it is more powerful for these kind of things...
I just need to take measurements and attach new objects to the model, or can this somehow be enabled for mesh objects as well, without converting?
My plug-ins are disappearing...Just gone. I can't find them anywhere. Artistic - gone. Textures - gone. Not sure what's going on here... Is there any way to restore the factory default plug-ins w/o reinstalling PS altogether?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been working with psd files in CS4 and after saving once, everything seems normal. After working on a file more and trying to save, I get a message that it can't be saved because the file name is not valid. If I close the file without saving and try to reopen, it says I don't have permission to open the file. I've tried doing a SaveAs under a different name with same results. Even worse is that the files I thought I had saved previously simply disappear from the folder they were in if I do the SaveAs step under a similar, but different name (like adding -1 to the name.) They don't appear anywhere on the computer that I can find. I'm running an up-to-date Windows 7, 64-bit. CS4 also is a current 64-bit.

View 30 Replies View RelatedI thought it was just the comp setup of some of my buddies, but I'm getting the same thing occasionally. It's kinda hard to repeat, but it Is repeatable.
It's simple. just open a decent sized file, mine right now is 5000x5000, select the brush tool and press the bracket key rapidly to change the size of the brush.
It might take a few times for it to actually disappear, but the mouse eventually should disappear anytime it's over the photoshop window. It shows up over tools and the file menu, but that's it. You can still paint, but it's Really hard to do when you can't see where the stroke is going to begin.
If it makes a diff...Photoshop has the file open and is taking 400MB of mem. Doesn't even seem high. Usually when this happens it's on a file with Way more layers and is taking something closer to 2GB of memory.
I've just installed Photoshop CS, and the filter for brush strokes, sketch, texture, and video are all greyed out - I can't access them. What's going on?

I also deleted the IE cache just in case. Still can't see the Mondera banner.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'll put them in the presets>>brushes folder, but when i go into Photoshop, they're not there. BUT! When I go to add a new brush through Photoshop, the file is there and I can click on it and it will load under whatever brushes I was using. They're just not showing up.
Is there some limit I dont know about?
Also, my blendings not working when i try to blend layers with a gradient. Say i were to put to pictures on a new file. I'd do a layer blend so the line inbetween them isn't so harsh. But instead of doing that, it just does the actual gradient (the colours are black and white).
whenever I'm doing certain things in CS2 now all of my palettes are temporarily disappearing. I can bring them back by clicking anywhere in the blank workspace, but I'm not sure what's caused this. As the most simple example, I can reset all palettes to their default positions and reset to the default workspace. I then open an image, go to levels adjustment, cancel whatever change I might make, and all of the palettes disappear. Also, all of my palettes are floating within the main CS2 window. That is, if I want to move the whole PS2 window around my monitor, I'm having to deal with each palette and main menu separately. I'll bet all of this is a simple thing to reset, but I haven't found what's going on yet.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to make a simple 3D extrusion of the text in a logo (Yep, freshly made text layer, so no it's not text within a png image or anything! I may be a noob, but I'm not flat out stupid! ). I know how to do it and all that stuff but occasionally when I come to do this in PS, the option just no longer seems to be available! I'm using the Extended version as provided via the Creative Cloud and I HAVE successfully made 3D extrusions in the past (made a 3D logo last night actually), and I've been through preferences etc. so it's not as if suddenly PS has opted not to use my graphics card or anything silly like that.

In this particular case, I made my text, went to make a 3D extrusion, then realised I needed to rotate the text a little, so backed out and did my rotation - when I went back to the 3D menu, NOPE, not an option.

Have I still got the 3D grid and pop-up running somewhere but just haven't clicked back to it?why I can no longer select it as an option? how to get the option for 3D extrusions back?
I am running a windows Vista 32Bit software. I just decide to finally use my cs6Â photoshop and when i try to open an image in photoshop the board remains blank but the layer panel says there is an image and shows a preview of the image like it normally does in the layer panel. Everything else works fine but the image won't show at all.
View 7 Replies View Related I've got this problem where my text is dissapearing when I export a .PDF from PS. Some of the text dissapears and some is white with a thin outline (although it should just be solid black). I've read other things online from people with this problem but none of the solutions work for me. If I rasterise the text it works - but i don't want it rasterised.
- I'm not using Faux Bold or other effects
- I've tried with different fonts including Arial and Helvetica
- Tried changing the colour slightly
- Tried changing opacity slightly
- opened a new document with only text and it still does it.

I think it is only happening when i use a text box (dragging the text tool to make box rather than a single click)I've got Creative Cloud and PS is up to date. Working on a rMBPÂ OSX10.8.4
I am finding it very annoying that after i use curves the palette does not dissappear and I have to maually click to get rid of. On my large screen at home this is fine but I work in a college with small monitirs and its very frustrating indeed. Work around or am I just being dim? this only happens in PS6 not 5.

I've been working in CS5 using a Wacom Intuos 3 tablet along with the stylus pen. Recently when I am working in CS5 I've noticed that while using the brush tool the little "dot" tends to dissapear while painting. This also happens if I use a short cut ie. brush tool/command key/eyedropper. The only way for the "dot" to return is either to move the pen around the screen, clicking on things until it reappears OR using the magic mouse, but sometimes this doesn't work either.
