Paint Shop Pro :: Reusable Layer For Logo And Text Over Group Photo
Jun 10, 2012
I've been doing some group photos for my work and would like to overlay our logo and text, but be able to use it again for other shots and change the text when needed. Something like class photos where all I would change would be the text.
Can I create a transparent PSP image that can then be overlaid any future photos?
When dealing with a single image in its layer I could use "pick tool" to select image and move it with accuracy using keyboard arrows.
I created a mask from a vector (PSP created by itself a group with two layers => raster + mask). After that I am unable to move the group layer using keyboard arrows. I don't know whether this behavior is common to all type of layer groups, but not be able to use the arrows is annoying! Am I missing something? Is it possible to move layer group using arrows (keyboard)?
Ps.: Another "problem" happens when I select two raster layers and try to resize them drag'n'droping. It is impossible and I need to create a group layer to move them together. Is it the PSP common behavior?
I made a red rectangle and then positioned white text over it. I'd like to repeat that a dozen or so times in the image, just changing the text.
I assume I need to 'group' the text and rectangle so that I can move them together (I don't want to have to repeat the tricky positioning every time). And then just edit the text - but so far it's eluded me!
I'm using PSP8 but hopefully the approach is similar in later versions.
Even better, any script I could download that would make this sort of 'boxed label' simpler?
I just want to be able to add text to a photo. I follow the steps, choosing 12pt, but when I try to type on the photo, I can tell something is trying to show up on the photo, but it is so tiny, it is not visible.
I've been marking-up images with vector text (on vector layer) and have some issues. After clicking to position the text box, typing in text and then clicking the CHECK tool button to 'set', how does one go about deselecting that text object? It's not working smoothly here!!
I am creating a photo collage and have created a Vector Layer (Text Tool) however I am unable to see this text on top of a Raster Layer (Photo). However the Text is visible if I move it onto the Background. I am unable to Arrange the Text to the Top.
since the last update for Paintshop Pro X4, I can't add a new layer form the layers palette and I cant edit the text color at all. I can change the color in the palette but it will not change in the text at all. Is it me or is it a bug?
I've searched under a bunch of terms (shape, sprite, copy, reusable, etc), but I don't even know what words I should be searching for
I've used Paint Shop Pro 8 for many, many years for my very occasional need to create images for our software manuals. One of the tasks I did frequently was take a screenshot of our software and then add some numbers to it that could be referred to in the text of the manual page, like the blue & white numbers here:
I was able to create those number/circle shapes once as vector images and then easily select and copy them from that file (PaintShop's PSP format) into my screenshot files (jpgs or pngs).
I've been able to create my numbered shapes in one file using Paint.NET, but not as vectors - as I understand it, Paint.net doesn't do vector. I can select and copy those, but doing the selection is very finicky to get the exact circle selected. Then when I paste it into another image, the colors are different - I assume this is due to palette differences.
Granted, I could draw the circle and the number individually into each screenshot I need to edit - this seems pretty inefficient compared to the way I've been doing it for years in PaintShop Pro.
I have been asked to quote on a group composite photo of 115 graduating students for a school in my rural area. I have search the web for a template that will allow me to choose the number of individual photo for the composite and then allow me to insert each student's photo, the year and perhaps a school crest.
I can only find this software that is compatible with Adobe or Elements and I now use Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2...and it does everything I need for my small business.
I'm adding swatches and can't see a way to create groups/categories for them. I want, for example, to add a group/category called "Sexy reds", so then when i click that, it would only show the swatches I added to that specific group.. I want lots of different groups, too.
Is there any way to group, organize or categorize fonts I have installed in PSP so that I can have only my new fonts in one place? I am having to pick through all my fonts in order to test them all out.
Have only recently purchased and installed X5. I am coming from PSPv9 (and doing so reluctantly.)
I am attempting to duplicate the tool toolbar that I am use to in PSPv9 in X5. I have been successful except for one group. In PSPv9, the Dropper tool and the Color Replacer tool are in the same group. I have been able to create a new Button Group and place both tools into it. What I can not figure out is how to have the new button group display an icon. All other groups display the icon of the first tool in the group listing.
I am making a book cover. Given an existing photo for the background, I want to overlay some text (title and author), move it around, resize it, change fonts, choose font color and outline, etc. When I have settled on the text properties, I want to try it on various background photos without redoing the text properties each time. What is the best way to do this?
I have two photos, shooted probably the same day, by the same photograph in the same place !But the pose is a bit different.
first one is in high resolution and in black & white nuance. second one is a small resolution and in full colors. I wish re-color the black&white photo using exactly the same nuance from the colored one.
can i "copy" all the colors from the color-one to the b&w one ?
If you have several objects grouped, and then you combine them all on a single object, the resulting object is placed inside the same group. This seems bogus, since is not possible to create a group of a single object.
Test case:Create 4 rectangles.Select them all and group them (ctrl+g)Select the group and combine all objects (ctrl+alt+dnarrow)
What I expect:A single object floating on the canvas
What I get:The same group but with a single object inside.

I'm new to Paint shop. Is it possible to clip an adjustment layer or image to just the layer below it like in Photoshop? Or maybe Paint shop calls it something else?
My logo was greated in Photoshop as a logo with text on a transparent layer. Saved as a jpg-file I tried to "import" this logo as a Lightroom-watermark. It sort of worked, but the transparent layer in PS now shows as a white background "covering" too much of the photo (see screenshot). I'm using PH CS6 and LR4.
Cloning from layer to layer continues to be a problem in PP X6. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it does not work. Yes. I know what is happening but I don't like it. I can get around it but I still don't like it. How about in X7, the clone tool include a source and target dialog for the clone tool
I am working on a photo of a city skyline that I took. I am looking to superimpose blue sky and clouds which normally isn't a problem if there were only buildings. The white spaces in between tree leaves such as palm trees are especially challenging to fill. They can be hundreds of distracting white spots in the scene to fill .
Have used Corel photo album 6 for many years and loved it, was very easy to use. When I got my new laptop, I was told that my program was outdated and was recommended that I purchase Corel paintshop Prox4, so I did. I would like to burn my pictures to a CD or DVD for backup and to share with my family, only. My old program had an easy one step button to click on to make a CD/DVD. I find this product to be difficult to use for an average person just wanting to have a little fun with their pictures and doing some minor corrections.
I vaguely remember a process (like the photo merge tool) that let you paint in red what you wanted to get rid of and paint in green what you wanted to keep. It didn't have to "merge" files. I tried it a couple of times with pretty mixed results (back in X3 I think.) Is there a similar tool in X4 or can you use photo merge for this? (I tried opening photo merge with one image, painting it in red and green, clicking process, but nothing happens on the image.) I will resort to the object remover or clone brush if my mind is playing tricks on me about this tool, but I wouldn't mind trying it in this tricky situation.
I have used PSP since version 2, so have been at it for awhile. Just upgraded to 6, as I was using version 4.
The problem I have is when I am in the edit area, and have a photo on the screen I use my mouse wheel to enlarge or shrink depending on my needs. The old version the windows box around image would also resize with image. I have attached a few images. I normal could fix this in the settings, but for some reason the window will not follow the image size as I enlarge or shrink? It does when I actually resize image, but I need this to do that when I am just using mouse wheel to make bigger or smaller on my screen.
Upon selecting the Adjust workspace and moving the cursor over the image in the preview area the cursor changes to a dropper and a small box opens which contains 2 columns of data. The column headings are…
Current: Original:
Below them are the values of the R,G,B channels at the cursor position. Moving the cursor around the image in the preview area changes these values. Left or right clicking places a target on the image and changes the colour balance of the image. I presume it is selecting a new value for the White Balance. However, the data values remain identical in the Current: and Original: columns.
The dropper and box are only displayed when the Smart Photo Fix option is selected in the Adjust Palette.
So, how does one get the data values for Current: and Original: to display different values? What is the difference between left click and right click? What is the overall function of this feature?
how do you take a photograph and make it into artwork you can use on a t-shirt design? I guess I'm saying so that it looks like a drawing rather than a photo. currently I'm using PSPX2.
I saw a tutorial on youtube and it is something I will like to do on my own. But with the tutorial, I have tried over and over again without getting the same result. How do I do this using PSP X4.
