I have a small grey 'play' icon which I want to change the grey area to brown. (Looks like I can't paste it here). It isn't just one color and has a side of ridge that shows an outline you'd press.Can I use PSP7 somehow to make the colour change?
View 1 RepliesI reformatted my computer and installed a fresh copy of Windows 7 service pack 1 and installed Photoshop CS6 and when I print my work the color gray prints as brown and the yellow green has a shade of brown in it as well so its darker. I did calibrate my monitor, I use sRGB IEC61966-2.1 as ICC profile and RGB in working spaces, and US Web Coated v2 as CMYK. I changed the mode to CMYK 16 bit and proof setup to Working CMYK. In printer setting I set the color handling to Photoshop manages colors and set it to hardproofing. I did match it with the color management in display settings.
I think my Epson T1100 printers are fine because they both print the same color gray as brown so it must be in Photoshop where the problem is.
This is frustrating..Before I reformatted I was using Photoshop CS5 and my prints are fine but when I reformatted and installed a fresh copy of Windows 7 and Photoshop CS6 the printing problems starts, I reinstalled Photoshop CS5 but the print outs still has problems, color gray prints as brown..By the way, I print on white bond papers and white box boards, so color blending is not the case I'm sure..
I would like to change the Dark color working area for a lighter one such as grey used in old Paint Shop 6 or 7.

I just downloaded PSP 13...I can't put a few photos on the work space....I only see one photo at a time and when I move a photo I see the checkered area and not the other photos...at the top left I see the photo names and i can click on them and the photo appears but only one at a time...around each photo I always had an area where I could see the X at the top right , click on it and the photo would leave...but now it's hard to see where the X is...

View 2 Replies View RelatedIn X4 I could set the pallettes I wanted (layers and History) to a docked position on the RHS. With X6 the pallettes cover the RH part of the window and the image, with the opened image centred on the whole screen so that the RH part is cut off. It can't be centred within the area visible when the pallettes are open. This gives a smaller visible image if the whole image is in view. This is a serious issue, which X4 handled ok ! I've tried all the options but cannot get X6 to behave like x4

View 4 Replies View RelatedI can't find any preferences for changing the photo editing area background colour. I am not sure what it is called but what I am talking about is the space in the middle of the program where photos open up into (not the workspace option which changes the menu bar colours of which I am using the blue option.) At the moment the centre area is a charcoal colour. When I am editing a photo which is smaller than this space it is surrounded by this colour and it makes it hard for me to see the thin black border which I place around some photos. Can I change the colour of the editing area to white?

I know, I can change the "Transparency Alpha" in the colour box, but on screen is still displayed the color. Worse, I need a transparent area for an RPG Maker, and this program doesn't take said area as transparent besides the setting in Paint.net.
I want to use the paint brush for editing a photo I have, but the only color available is black. No matter where I've looked in PSP, there was no option to change the color of the paint brush. I've read online that you need to change the pallet to material pallet, then go to "Foreground & Stroke Properties" and set the color box to the color I want, but the only colors I get are different hues of black and gray.
Even in Paint it's just a matter of clicking the desired color to use different colors. Why isn't it so simple in PSP?
I need to change some lines that are in a layer from a black/gray to brown. So I tried to change it by right clicking (PS 7.0) and blending options then tried a bunch of stuff and nothing seems to work: color overlay, blend mode, blend if... but I can't get the color.
I would greatly appreciate it if someone tell me how to do this? The color I need is somewhere between #734002 and #B16203.
I've been using photoshop for ages just doing random basic stuff at home and I've never had this problem before...What happens is when I have a white background on the screen with (for example) black text on it, it will print out with a light gray background instead of the white background that appears on my screen...I don't know if its a printer properties thing or just my crappy printer itself

I have tried setting the Primary color to white and the Secondary color to brown, vice versa, and also setting both Primary and Secondary to white. No matter what I do, my letters don't show up, presumably because they are brown.
How do I get white text to actually show up on a brown background?
Using PSPP X3 Ultimate.
I have some Tif files and jpeg files that are 600dpi and 400dpi. I scanned these images with my Canon CanoScan LiDE 700F scanner. Can i use my version of PSPP X3 Ultimate to change the dpi value? Is this stuck? I wanted to be able to get the 600 and 400 dpi image files (I have some 300dpi's too) down to the 100-250 range if I needed to. I see there are different export options and compression in PSPPX3Ultimate, but I'm not sure if this will do what I want.
I want to export as Tif and Jpeg again.
Are there any good third party photo and or video editors that I can batch edit this with? It's ok to mention pay programs and I'd prefer good quality freeware if there is such a thing. I am sure that my Corel program can do the trick though. I just don't know how and don't want to rescan multiple dpi's every single time. I only need the archives and then get the smaller dpi when needed.
When I installed PaintShop Pro X5, I listed the associated files (all of them). Now, when I go to the associated files, I cannot change the list (one or the total list). I check the boxes, but nothing changes. so I can change these associated files.

I can easily do it on an image, as it comes up in the tool options toolbar, but the wording toolbar is the alignment one.
PSP X3 Not Responding, I had to terminate PSP ... I accidentally picked the Picture Tube tool, and then picked the adjacent Fill tool that I really wanted to use. The problem was that PSP was updating the Picture Tube cache, and was still in process at 98% and then hung! Not responding, killing the photo loader process not enough, so lost my current image edits. Not so good!

Note: I'm referring to the default unit (mm) that comes up in "Size and Position"

However, I don't see the way to change it in preferences.
Do I need to change the compression factor with every single save ? Or is there a way to set it in program defaults ?
PSPX4's change to target tool has never worked right for me. I have X2 which does work right. In PSPX4 no matter what the setting it applies way too much color. Even at 1% opacity it is like about 80% in PSPX2 with all settings the same.
Latest updates installed. PSPX4 still does not like Adobe LR4 JPEGs when resaving them, although I now get an error message instead of a save that loses the file for good as some 4-8k sized file that can't be opened. I still have to use X2 for those two reasons.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIn the past I created a picture with multiple objects (rectangles, colors, text labels, lines,...). As far as I remember I saved it with PSP vX2 into a *.psd file. This kind of file stores not only the final picture but the intermediate manipulation steps/layers as well.
Ok, now, some months later, I want to resume the picture design process.Therefore I started PSP vX2 and load the mentioned *.psd file. Much to my surprise I found no way to e.g. select a certain text line shown at the bottom of the picture and to edit it (again).
How does this work? Do I have to tell PS somehow "re-tokenize all layers" ?
Maybe (I am not sure) the *.psd file was saved by Photoshop and not by PSP. Does this matter? Are *.psd files compatible between Photoshop and PSP? Can I find out the previously saving program? I can imagine that this is somehow stored in the header of the *.psd file.
