Paint.NET :: Selecting And / Or Removing Differences
Sep 13, 2011I would like to have a function so I can -at least- select the differences that sets picture a apart from picture b.
Is there a plugin for that or is it even build in p.n?

Paint Shop Pro :: Key Differences Between X2 And X4?
Sep 19, 2011I normally upgrade every other version. I currently use X2 on a Windows XP computer. My primary uses are photo editing. My key interests are:
- processing 16 bit per color files
- use of layers and blends
- stereo photography (combining and aligning stereo pairs)
- use of various tools such as cloning and healing.
- Color management and Printing
Reviewing the product page, I haven't really found anything that shows a list of upgraded or added features. Most of the things mentioned appear to be in X2 already. Looking at the thread calling for future features, it appears that the things missing are still missing. X2 is serving me well, but there has to be some reason to upgrade?
Illustrator :: Selecting / Removing All Overprints In Document?
Jan 16, 2013I work in the screenprinting field, and use Illustrator CS6 all day, every day to create layouts which are then separated into spot color separations. I found a script that I installed that is supposed to select all overprinted objects. When we blend objects using the "make blend" tool, the script does not select the objects in the blend. will allow us to TRULY select ALL overprints in the document?

Apr 14, 2012I love Paint.net. It's the only image editor I use now and has pretty much every feature I need in an image editor. But today I'm attempting a project I can't seem to find the right tools for.
I'm trying to copy and paste a rectangle onto another image. But the object in the image I'm pasting to is tilted slightly. So I need to find a way to change my copied rectangle into a trapezoid that will make it look natural on the new image.
Under LAYERS - ROTATE / ZOOM, I found some tools that seem to work. But now I need to select only the trapezoid to paste to the new image. The only cropping tools I can find only allow a rectangular selection. I can't find a tool to choose a corner to corner irregular selection. Does Paint.net have such a tool or is there a plugin I can download for this process.
Paint.NET :: Selecting A Particular Size To Crop?
Aug 13, 2011I am trying to edit a number of photos for a Ken Burns type travelogue, and that means I have to make all my color and other adjustments, and then edit to a common size (1280x720). This usually means resizing the photo which gives me the 1280, and then I need to pick which 720 of the image to include. With the rectangular select I can get close, but my mouse movement is usually too much to get exactly to 720, so I often end up having to resize again to drop/add a couple rows.
Is there some way to set a selection box to be a certain size so it could then be moved up and down in the image, and then crop the image when you have selected the portion you want?
Just to clarify, I know of the "Fixed Size" selection. But it is almost as impossible to get that lined up so that you get the full 1280 width as it is to get the bounding box dropped to exactly 720...
Paint.NET :: Removing Background From Images
Nov 8, 2011Is there an EASY way to remove the background from a photo and make it completely white? I mean, no "magic wand" or transparency %, etc... just a button I can hit to "remove background"... reason being, I need to do this for hundreds of images and it would be very time consuming to do it with the wand, etc.

Jan 2, 2012I have a picture that was sent to me from someone to remove the effects of a filter. I can plainly see an area in the picture where the colors are not natural to the picture. My question is how do I remove the extra colors without messing up what was behind them? It appears someone used a blur or smudge filter in this one area.

Mar 29, 2013Want to remove the dark grey boundary layer as seen in the attachment, in order to overlay my own boundary (which uses a different coordinate system so is more stretched) What tool do I use to do this? Do i remove that specific color from the picture completely? Do i somehow blend it into the background map?
Also, the new map layer is a series of 300 bright red points in a similar shape on a white background....how do i overlay only the red points?

Paint.NET :: Removing (novel By) From Ebook Covers
May 18, 2013I've got two ebooks coming out with "A NOVEL" in one and "a novel by" in the other. I put those in there thinking that they would distinguish them from other kinds of books, but hanging around in the ebook forums the great majority of people are like, 'Using 'a novel by' is amateurish and unnecessary as the book will be amongst other novels.'
Well, I've looked at plenty of ebooks online I thought were novels that ended up being short stories and I was not pleased, so I'm not entirely convinced I should be getting rid of them (the 'a novel by,' that is).
question #1) Do you think I should be getting rid of them?
Question #2) If so, any good way of doing that, where it still looks good?
The Find I did in paint.net before I knew about layers (unfortunately), so everything there is on the same layer.
Man of God was done by a professional cover designer and I have asked him to remove it, but I'm not sure if he will or not. (He did the cover maybe 7 months ago and I've got an email into him three days ago and haven't heard back.) So I don't know how this one was made.
And one last question: what is up with the file re-sizing action? I know that's vague, but when I re-sized The Find photo to 50% the paint.net uploader said it was too big. When I re-sized it to 40% paint.net said it was only 33.24 kb. Can that be? Plus paint.net was calling the file sizes just about double what they were in the file's properties.
Paint Shop Pro :: Using Pen Tool For Raster Selecting
Oct 10, 2012I do not want to use the the Pen Tool to make selections of Vectors! I want to know if it possible to use the Pen Tool to select say the eyes or the arm or the chair or the apple, etc! Then convert that vector pen tool selection into a Raster selection?
Photoshop and Gimp do this! I would love this feature in PaintShop Pro X5, but since that out maybe the next version X6!
Paint Shop Pro :: Selecting Color Range?
Oct 31, 2013In Photoshop, there is a SELECT/COLOR RANGE tool that allows the selection of Highlights, Shadows, etc. Is there anything comparable in PSP X6? This would be very useful when trying to adjust for example blown highlights.

Jul 8, 2012PSP X4 opens in the Edit page. When I select the "Manage" tab, the program freezes and I need to use the Task Manager to shut the program down.
I contacted Corel and they told me to reinstall the program. I have done so but the problem still persists. I have the service pack 2 installed.

Paint Shop Pro :: Removing Spots On Picture?
Oct 12, 2012I took some pictures outside recently and when I looked at them later realized there were sun spots on them. I have Coral Paint Shop Pro x2 and how to remove this sun spots so I can salvage the pictures. Some of the spots are yellowish color and some are white. They are all on peoples legs so I have not been able to find a way to remove them. I have tried the cloning but it looks funny. I have also tried creating a new layer and removing the color yellow from the picture but that doesnt seem to work either.

May 17, 2013I don't know if it is a bug, or something to do with Windows7 but it has been bugging me for quite a while.
On my old computer (which ran Windows XP), i could choose to open several images in PSP (all versions i had at the time) and the number of selected files didn`t seem to matter. Now, on my new computer (since a few years), i run with Windows7 and i find that if i select more than 4 files to open at once (usually jpg or png) i get an error message asking me to "select a valid file". If i deselect enough files to reach 4, it opens them fine.
It is not a big issue, although it might get a bit annoying if i have 20 small files to open at once, as i have to do it in groups of 4 at the time.

Jun 7, 2013I am trying to select the thorns/rose seperately in the attatched image, but because of the varying levels of definition of the borders, I cant see any way to do so other than by hand pixel by pixel. Are there any addons that make this task easier, or is there a simple function that I have just not seen.
My goal is to overlay it on three seperate colored layers, and "cut through" the lower layers with the top layer set on multiply, that way coloring the details while leaving the shading intact.

Dec 28, 2011I am tracing a simple raster shape in a new vector layer and I want to know how I can remove a portion of the content from the center. Picture a shape like a letter "o" where there is shape data comprising the perimeter ring, and no shape data in the center. I trace the perimeter of the the shape making a solid eliptical-type shape, but I need to then remove a portion of the center of the shape so that only the ring of the O has vector data. How can I do this?

Sep 17, 2011I've blown up the attached image to 200% and cropped the most problem area -- this is only for online/RGB viewing, not hard-copy print. The hand/body part of this crop is from a frame taken with my Canon HV30 camcorder which only goes to HD resolution (1920x1080i) and due to low-light, it's got some bad artifacts. Mainly the green splotches.
I've already done as much Transform/Fix Interlace as I can up to the point where it can start losing definition.
Seems like the only thing as far as I know is to dive in and clone all those areas one by one using the clone took by borrowing "good adjacent territory" to clean up the mess. I've tried a close up "Replace Colors" but it's a bit too hit-and-miss.

Oct 10, 2012I have been using PSP9 for many years now. However, after trying out PSP X5 I liked some of the new features, so I decided to upgrade. Now I'm starting to regret it... For some reason, the new version creates this little "empty space" at the end of text which I cant figure out how to get rid of! I attached a screenshot to show you what I mean. Is there any way to remove this?
