Mar 11, 2013Is there a way to add a "photo frame" to a picture? Like, is there a library or set of frames that can be used on the edges of pictures in a simple click or two?
I am wanting "pretty" frames for adding photos to printed coffee mugs etc.

Aug 5, 2004I select the horizontal type tool and have my font in black but everything I type is invisibe. in the text box. I have added text to pictures before doing this but never had this problem. is there some setting i goofed.

I have to replace "Customer Satisfaction" with some other text. The text is embedded in the image; so, it's not that easy, at least for me, to replace it without making it look amateurish. Of course, I duplicated the background and worked on that layer.
First method I tried was using the clone stamp, zooming in to 1600% to painstakingly erase it. But then when I zoom out, the background where the text was placed over does not match its surroundings and looks like someone shaded it. If you zoom in real close, before making any changes to it, you'll see that the "green" (what the RGB is) touching the text is different than the "green" in areas not touching text.
Next, I thought of using the magic wand to select the text for me and that looked liked it worked. But the problem is once I select it, how to delete it or blend it in with the background. That is, if I select the "C" in "Customer Satisfaction" with the magic wand, for instance, pressing delete does nothing. Then I found I can fill the area, after I select it with the magic wand; however, what the RGB combination is of the background. Is there a way I can find out what the RGB value is of the background, then apply that to my fill color and effectively delete the "Customer Satisfaction" text?
Once I'm able to get rid of the text, I can use the text editor plugin tool I downloaded to replace the text.
That's my logic, anyway. How I can replace text in an image, preferably as neatly as possible.

Jul 13, 2011When I was using PSP X I was able to add text to a template document simply by pressing the 'A' text tool, positioning the cursor, left clicking to open the text entry box and then typing (usually just the date), this I can't do in PSP X3 as the ' highlighted input box' hovers over a saved documents' previous input - (usually a month) and won't open or move without dragging the month with it. The cursor offers spurious flashes before leaving me with a flashing horizontal bar unable to proceed. The problem still occurs regardless of which previously saved and archived document I try to make adjustments to.
I had this problem too 12 months ago with a trial version which I had expected was a download fault but I think not. The routine still works fine on PSP X

Jan 25, 2012I just want to be able to add text to a photo. I follow the steps, choosing 12pt, but when I try to type on the photo, I can tell something is trying to show up on the photo, but it is so tiny, it is not visible.

1. Open up picture in Paint.net
2. Make new layer
3. Type what i want on the new layer
4. I click effects->stylize->outline
5. adjust the settings
6. Boom, my picture is gone with the text looking gargled.
What is the correct way of adding outline to text?I tried the plugins and they do not work.

Feb 29, 2012I' have an image that I've created using layers. I want to add text to the picture. But the text comes up grey and there seems to be no box for selecting the text color as there is say in word or other windows programs. I can only see a choice for font and size. I can't make a color window appear to give me a choice of colors. The only thing on the left of my window is the tools panel with the 22 tools in it. I don't seem to be able to use the color picker tool because I want white text and there is no white in my photo to pick on.

Nov 23, 2011How to make it blend in so you can't even tell it was Photoshopped into the picture. I use the magnetic lasso but there are always areas where it isn't smooth or part of the background is showing. Especially the hair.
On top of that it will be better or worse quality than the picture I'm adding it to. Or it will be darker or lighter, etc etc.

While adding text and applying (experimenting) various "Effects" with the text, I used the garbage can icon to remove the "Effect", thinking it is going to remove the 'Effect" from the text, until I realized I had to remove the "Effect" with the edit button, not the garbage can. Have I now permanently removed the various "Effects" permanently or just off the screen? How do I regain them back onto the menu column? How many "Effects" should be visible in order to have the complete set? This was my first experiment with the lettering effects and hope I haven't lost them forever.
