Sep 6, 2011I'm working on a magazine cover design for a school project, and I was wondering if it was possible to edit a picture like this and make sparks come from the tip?

GIMP :: Changing Color Of Sparks Brush
Jun 26, 2013That was one of my favorite effects in GIMP. Can do it just fine using Portable Gimp and 'use color from gradient'. But in GIMP 2.8.2 -- that's been taken away and we've been left with a confusing new Gradient system . Do NOT like it so far at all. Haven't figured out how to change the color of the sparks brush on it, let alone use it in any practical way.
Any way to be able to use this new version of the Gradient system and be able to change the color of the sparks brush?

i have a wires graphic ready to go but i have photoshop 7 whereas the tutorial is aimed at 5.5. i cant seem to get this effect to work. for instance in step 2 Dan says:

Jun 23, 2011I recently had a computer virus. The hard drive was scrubbed, and we had to reinstall all our programs.
Now, on my CorelDraw X3 graphics suite, the photo paint program is only partially functional. The clone and paint tools do not work anymore. I have uninstalled and reinstalled a couple of times, rebooted the computer, but no progress. We have Windows XP, the same as before.

Mar 25, 2013I'm having trouble using the paint brushes in photo paint x6. i open a JPEG or bitmap then use a paint brush to paint on the image but there is no paint. do i have to use a mask now? I tried copying a dupe for a second layer to see if that worked but nix. i still have x4 and i do it there. but what's with x6? all the other tools work but the paint brush.

May 15, 2012I want to use the paint brush for editing a photo I have, but the only color available is black. No matter where I've looked in PSP, there was no option to change the color of the paint brush. I've read online that you need to change the pallet to material pallet, then go to "Foreground & Stroke Properties" and set the color box to the color I want, but the only colors I get are different hues of black and gray.
Even in Paint it's just a matter of clicking the desired color to use different colors. Why isn't it so simple in PSP?

I've been trying to paint some paint effects on the tree but when I make is paintable and try to paint on it I get problems. I paint on the surface and everything looks fine. As soon as release the mouse button my curve and paint effect jump to the base of the tree. No matter where I paint on the tree.

Suddenly, today, I tried using paint bucket to fill in a square and it filled in the entire image. Sep 23, 2011I'm a big fan of the HSL model (hue saturation lightness) as opposed to the HSV (hue saturation value) model. I'm gonna be teaching a person to use paint.net and I find HSV hard to explain.how to create color schemes if one thinks in HSL terms.
I was wondering if there are plans to include this model in the color dialog or to include an option to change it. If not, would a patch be welcome to add this option, I really would like this and it would be trivial to do.
