Am trying to rotate a MPG video taken with an original aspect ratio of 16:9 in portrait mode ie long side vertical. The video loads into Videostudio fine, ie the image is sideways-on as expected and there are the black bars at top and bottom in the edit window as is usual for 16:9 videos. If I use the rotate button, this does rotate the video, but there are now black bars down the left/right sides as well as top and bottom, and the viewable image looks 4:3 (?) - it is flattened ie people look short and fat. Is there a particular project property/create video setting I need to set. I don't understand the settings - I'ver tried things like 'non-square pixel rendering' without knowing what to expect - but nothing so far seems to work.
How can I rotate my video which displays sideways to vertical in PSE 7?It's a waterfall, I filmed it vertically, but it displays horizontally. Full Edit doesn't work on film clips and the rotate option is greyed out.
Currently I’m riding my Premiere Pro CC skateboard on “L” plates and already I’ve hit a tree and landed on my backside. I filmed a video of my daughter with my DSLR camera and shot my take vertically. No doubt this is a clear sign to all of you reading this that I am a beginner, I mean a trainee-wheels-nappies-spoon-fed beginner. When importing my vertical file it lies horizontal in this CC editor. Surely this must be some button to push to rotate my take back to vertical. Meanwhile I’ll fix myself up with some band-aides and thumb through the ABC book to the part about horizontal out-put devices.
I like the custom print package in LR, but cannot find a rotate option other than 90 degrees. Am I overlooking, the option doesn't excist or I'm using it not the right way? I searched this forum and the Internet with no results.
For example in picture below I would like to rotate the 4 smaller photo's 45 degrees
Some of my landscape horizon shots need only a slight rotation left or right; less than a couple of degrees. How can I do this, and can it be done in Develop?
I only make stacks of exactly the same photos, but with different formats, mostly 2 jpg versions and a raw. If i change photos further, i unstack that photo, to see the different photos right away.
So, i always want to apply changes to all the photos in a stack, because all basic versions have the same rank, should have the same rotation, and other exif data that i change. how to always change all photos in a stack in Lightroom?
I used a flat bed scanner to scan in a bunch of old photos. The photos aren't completely straight -- I figured I could rotate and recrop using LR.
Here's the problem: I have a bunch of crooked photos on a white background. If I try to rotate the photo, it ends up cropping out part of the photo. (This does make sense -- You've all seen this when you've tried to rotate a photo.)
But I need to figure out how to tell LR to just add in extra white background where needed instead of cutting into my actual photo.
I can do this in PS by creating a big white background, rotating the original pic and then cropping. That's a hassle when you have 100+ images. But isn't there some way to do this in LR?
I have a 27" adjustable monitor to take advantage of larger portrait views. However, when in Development module can you manipulate the controls so that I don't have to make adjustments "sideways"?!?
Unfortunately, living in Belgium we use a different kind of keyboard lay-out. In order to use the [ ] keys (shortcut to rotate a photo), We have to press both ctrl and alt. This makes it impossible to use the assigned keyboard. Is there an easy way how to rotate photos using a shortcut instead of constantly pressing the rotate button?
Just updated to LR 4.4 and it crashes every time I try to rotate an image in the crop mode. I'm right in the middle of a book project and desperately need to go back to LR 4.3. How to get rid of 4.4 and go back to 4.3? Using Mac OS 10.8.2.
I am currently in the process of testing LR4 and use a LR3 library that I converted to LR4.
If I rotate an image from (or to) landscape/portrait I cannot use the crop/rotate tool anymore by pulling the edges. The control sliders work, but not the active corners. If I put the image back to the original position, things work like a charm.
I have been unable to import video to Lightroom 4 from my Canon 7d (.mov files). I could import without issue using Lr 3.x. I would be able to do quick edits of photos and videos all in one place for friends/family events.
Lightroom 4.2 won't import video, not from a Nikon D800, Canon 5D Mark II nor an iPhone. I just get "There is a problem with the video file." The files are fine, and somewhere in the past I was able to import videos. So what's changed?
Lightroom 5 on OSX 10.9.1 will crash after a few seconds of displaying/selecting items if a video fie is present in that library folder. In Console, I get these messages every second until I force quit Lightroom:
([0x0-0x978978].com.adobe.dynamiclinkmanager.application[3472]) Job appears to have crashed: Abort trap: 6 Saved crash report for dynamiclinkmanager[3472] version 7.0.0 (7.0.0.0) to /Users/[Username]/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/dynamiclinkmanager_2 014-01-21-102549_[Computername].crash
Unfortunately I'm not sure if the issue was already present before the 10.9.1 OSX update or with previous versions of Lr.
I have just installed LR4 upgrade from disk and on opening the program there is no video module in the top bar as the beta version. This is one of the main reasons i upgraded is for the video module.
Any solution regarding why video is not playing LR 5.2? In the past video worked fine until this update. I have looked thru the threads and see that other people have had a similar problem. One person said she reinstalled numerous times and then suddenly it began working?!?! I have downloaded all updates and it does not work. Yet I have confirmed that i can go to the files directly and open/play them using other programs.
I have LR 4.1 when I try to add grain using either a user preset or through lightrooms grain presets (heavy, light, medium) it doesn't add the grain to the video. Is this a feature that LR can't do with video
I have videos from Canon FS100 (SD video in .mpg). I can view/ playback in windows, Adobe Premier Pro and edit them also. But LR40 cannot import them - no preview , and when I import it says "There is problem with file". Tried reboot / quicktime update erc. No effect. LR3 can import and playback these files!
My Canon 60D video (*.mov) files are sucessfully imported to the Lightroom catalog, but Lightroom won't play them in LibraryLoupe view.
http:[url].....
but it shows video frames, when I hover mouse from left to right edge of item in LibraryGrid view. Seems like output of "Loupe" for video is broken and play control (scroll and buttons) is disabled. Have tried LR 5.0 and LR 5.2 RC.
the audio does not work on any of my video files, now that i have upgraded to LR4; the audio for these files works fine in LR3; audio is working with slideshows in LR4.
I have clipped the start and end locations on some videos. I then export them with the Vidoe setting of "Original". This is suppost to only maintain the original aspect ratio and FPS.
When I view the exported video it is the same as the original, with the clipped start and end points..If I export to a different format then the edits are included.
I don't know what happened. Initially everything seems fine. Then when I use loupe view to see video, the view only shows the left top corner (about 60% of the length and height). And I can't change (zoom out) back to show the whole video.
I just noticed that I can no longer import .MOV files from my Nikon D800 into Lightroom 5. I am running on Mac OS X 10.8.4 on a Macbook Pro, LIghtroom 5.0, Camera Raw 8.1. I plug the camera into the USB port of my macbook pro (don't have a SD slot on my macbook pro)
When I click import in Lightroom the .MOV files don't even show up at all in the import dialog.
When I tried to import video from my iPhone 5, they showed up on the import screen and I was able to succesfully import them.
After installation of LR4 Beta,Thumnails of Video files(AVCHD) were not generated. After restarting the system, I could view thumbnails and also could import files in to LR4.I enjoyed using vibration etc and it is easy to export (to H264) in comparison to cs5 PP. Now 2nd day onwards, I am not able to view thumbnails(video files) for importing nor files could be imported.Files already imported work fine with thumbnails. (Thumbnails while importing Video files are being displayed normally in LR3 without any problem)
