Photoshop :: Bridge CS3 To Show And Open Camera RAW Files?
Apr 11, 2012I am not able to see or open Raw files from my Canon 40D in either Photoshop CS3 or Bridge CS3. At first I was able to open RAWS in Photoshop and then I followed directions on the internet at how to manually replace a Camera Raw Plugin so I could open it in Bridge and now neither of the apps work with RAW. In photoshop It says that the file is not supported.
I looked up what plug in I needed and it said 4.2 for a Canon 40 D. I also followed the instructions in the read me file that was with the plugin download. No results from it. I even tried to switch it back to the old plug in to see if I could atleast get back the capiblility of opening it in Photoshop even though bridge was not working...still can't open it in either. What am I missing?
Lightroom :: Can't Get Any Camera Calibration Profiles To Show-up
Aug 19, 2013I am using lightroom 5 on a windows 8 pc and can not get any camera calibration profiles to show up. I have 14 profiles for my Sony SLT-A65 in my cameraprofiles folder and a corresponding camera folder with also has these profiles. I have checked all file attributes and the only thing I see differrent from some other camera profiles is the file ownership is adminisrator instead of system. Also Photoshop does not see any camera calibration profiles either. I have done a lightroom installation repair from original disk which didn't fix. I have all my lens profiles which work fine. I have tried renaming profiles from SLT-A65V to SLT-A65 to match what shows up on displayed file information.

Jan 17, 2013I have Lightroom 4.3 and a Canon 6D. I cannot get Lightroom to display my Camera Calibration Profile when I am developing a raw file.
I have dug through the MAC Library and Application Support folder and found CameraRaw. That folder contains my listed cameras. But when I am in Lightroom, I do not see that profile in the Camera Calibration section.
Is there a way to force Lightroom to display my camera profile? Lightroom 2 used to display it.

Apr 10, 2013Looking forward to this update because i use a Fuji X pro 1 and I had read that lightroom 4.4 now supports this camera and sensor.
However after updating all I get in the Lens adjustment under Fuji is the Fuji x100 which has been their for some time.The exif info is showing the correct camera and lens used etc.
I have tried uninstalling and then manually removing any left over files and folders with no luck.
Do i have to install support for this camera as an addon?
Also if i look in the lightroom folder Camera profiles/camera it only lists Canon, Nikon and Sony

Aug 6, 2013How do I apply an edit to every file in a folder? Every time I need to do this, I end up flailing around for 10 minutes before I can finally get it to work. Or, sometimes I give up and manually paste the copied settings to each file one at a time. It seems a no-brainer that "copy settings" followed by "paste settings" to all files selected would do the trick. Or "copy settings" foillowed by "Sync settings." But it doesn't work.

With NEF files there are sliders for shadows, highlights and clipping but with DNG they are different - blacks, recovery, fill light. etc.. Why is this and is there a way to make the Basic tab the same for both (both like the NEF Basics tab)?

The slider bars show up, but I can't read the labels, and have to go from memory. I uninstalled and then re-installed Photoshop CS6, tried to find where ACR;s prefs are located so I can try trashing them and so forth - all to no avail.

May 28, 2013I have a file with a lot of moire on a child's dress and am having problems using camera raw moire adjustment tool.
I opened a jpeg file (not raw) in camera raw. When I use the moire adjustment brush - set to +100 - and click on the eyeglass tool in the window to see the effect - it shows a white overlay.
Clicking the preview button doesn't show up any difference.I have saved several files as tests but the moire remains unaltered.

Dec 1, 2013I have been using Lightroom 5 happily for several months with no problems. A few weeks ago, I started getting the message at the import screen that previews were not available. This was OK, I just guessed on which I needed to import.
Starting last week, I cannot import files from either of my cameras. On the import screen, when it is trying to find files, it just hangs up. Have let it go for half an hour and nothing. When I click "cancel", I get the message that Lightroom has encountered a problem and needs to close.
I have tried purging the cache, though I'm not sure it is working, as I never get any message that the purge has been successfully completed. I click the button and nothing happens. I have tried starting a new catalog in case my other one is too big (approx 14,000 images), but same problem. I have tried installing the beta 5.2 version, still same problem.
I would love a solution to this, as for now I am having to import the NEF files by just dragging them to a folder on my desktop, and then importing the files from that folder into lightroom (when importing from folders on the computer, I have no problems).
Lightroom :: 5.3 And Camera Raw 8.3 - (Edit In) CC Not Working For RAW Or DNG Files
Jan 12, 2014I just applied the Lightroom 5.3 and Camera Raw 8.3 updates and now am no longer able to open RAW or DNG files into Photoshop CC. When I select a file and choose "Edit In" Photoshop, photoshop will launch, then nothing will happen. After 2 to 5 minutes, an error will popup in Lightroom saying "The file could not be edited because Adobe Photoshop CC could not be launched." An error I've never seen before. When I click "Ok", Lightroom will show that it's "preparing a file for editing" in the upper left, it will create and save a psd to disk and in the catalog (another new behavior), then it will open in photoshop. All other file types (jpgs, tiff, psd) seem to work/open fine between applications. No difference if I open photoshop prior to selecting "Edit In". Selecting "Edit In" other applications, like Viveza, work fine.
I tried first deleting preference files in both applications. No luck. Ditto for plugins. Notta. Eventually I completely uninstalled and fresh installed Photoshop, Lightroom, and Bridge from the cloud. Same deal...can't open raw/dng files into Photoshop.
I'm on a PC running Windows 7 64bit.

Jun 2, 2012When using LR3 to create DNG files from my RAW files, those files would show me thumbnails of my image in Windows Explorer. I am running Windows/7 (64) and have installed a CODEC from "Fast Picture Viewer" that allows thumbnails from RAW & DNG files to be shown. It seems, however, that the thumbnails do not show for DNG's created with LR4.
To Remedy this I uninstalled the CODEC. Downloaded the most recent version and installed it but this did not fix the problem.
I then went to the user forum for the CODEC product and searched for my problem. I found a thread who's solution is to turn off "Embed Fast Load Data" when exporting to DNG and it fixes the problem. I tried this and indeed it did fix it. The responder went on to say ".....When this option is enabled the files created are no longer DNGs (just an undocumented private format of Adobe that no one else can read to this date)". This statement surprised me as it is counter to what I understand Adobe created DNG to be. Can I get some input on this comment as if true it is very troubling.
My second question is that I see where to turn off the "Embed Fast Load Data" in the LR Export module, but where do I do the same thing in the Import module when I'm selecting import mode "Copy to DNG"?
If indeed the DNG files created by LR4 are proper DNG files and this CODEC is just flawed in some way, any better way to allow image thumbnails to be shown in Windows Explorer?
