Will the current plugins for Sigma DP1/2 RAW files work with files from the DP1/2 Merrill cameras? And if not, is Adobe developing plugins for these cameras?
View 2 RepliesI just got a Sigma dp1x. LR renders all my x3f raw files black. A normal preview will show up, but when I attempt to edit the photo, the picture goes completely black. I am running LR4.1 and ACR 7.1 win 7.

After downloading some files today in 4.4 without a problem I encountered the same error message (unable to inport listed RAW files) again. The files open fine in Bridge.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am on an iMac meeting all of the LR4 spec requirements and then some. I just installed the release copy of LR4 this morning and have been playing around with it. I just discovered that the "Edit in" feature does not work at all. This worked fine in my previous version of LR 2.6
When I click on "Edit in" Adobe Elements 10 or Topaz Fusion Express (to call up Adjust or B&W Effects) nothing happens. No error message. No popup. Nada. I went back to my prior version of LR and things still work there.
I also tried the "Edit in" Elements option on my Windows 7 PC 64 bit version of LR4 and at least with Elements it seems to work. I have not installed Fusion Express on the PC yet so I don't know if that works or not.

If I use Ctrl-Z to undo changes it will jump back to the previous image and start undoing changes there (if I made changes in that order). Is there a way to make it stay on the current image and undo changes made before switching images? If not, that would be a useful feature.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was initially getting an error message when attempting to open Illustrator 6 on my Mac (running 10.6.8). An unknown error has occurred (4294967253). Adobe Illustrator will now quit. I read a post where the user was to select shift+option+command right after booting up. When I did that, a dialog box popped up asking if I'd like to participate in submitting feedback to Adobe and asked for my profession, location, industry, etc. It then attempted to open a new file but gave the following error: The document 'Print.ai' contains elements that are managed by plug-ins that are not currently available. You can delete or expand these elements but you cannot manipulate them in other ways. The missing plug-ins are listed below. Stroke Offset Live Effect (StrokeOffset.aip). I can open an existing file, but no tools are available to edit with and I get additional errors regarding missing plug-ins. My Mac has also been running a bit slow lately as well...not sure if the two issues are connected, but I'm willing to try anything to meet an impending deadline. I have plenty of space remaining on my computer, so that can't be it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo you know what system I have, I use a laptop running Windows 7 64bit, with a dual core processor and 4GB RAM. It's a very capable machine and I don't usually have a problem using LR on it.
After installing LR 3.3 over 3.2 I experienced a problem whereby the PC would not recognise which program to use for opening the lrcat catalog files. Using the Default Programs option in Control Panel didn't work as Windows wouldn't accept Lightroom as the default program and kept suggesting I open the catalog using Adobe Reader instead.
I seem to remember having an issue with the 3.2 update as well but that was simply the icon for file type being missing (showing a default unknown file type icon).
Anyway, resolved the problem but had to resort to downloading a program called Default Programs Editor (http:[url]...... to correct the problem. Am thinking next upgrade, I will uninstall LR completely before installing the update, just to be sure.
Lightroom 5.2 is not identifying my sigma 35 mm 1.4 for lens correction anymore. It was working fine last week.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a Sigma 50mm 1.4 lens and had to notice, that although LR is able to choose the right lens correction profile, it shortens the displayed lens name to "50mm". So if I export to jpg, the exifs only show "50mm" instead of "Sigma 50mm f/1.4 EX DG HSM" as it is displayed by other programs (eg. Mac OS Preview) when viewing the original cr2 file. This has to be a bug, since the Canon 50mm 1.4 and the 50mm 1.8 II remain their full name.I'm glad LR at least chooses the right correction profile, I kinda dislike to use "50mm" as lens filter option, because that doesn't really say anything about which exact lens was used (well, in my case it does, as the other 50mms are displayed correctly.

I can import all the Picture files but they do not show up in folders. How can I import and keep current organization? Or, must I reorganize?
After many years of using LR this is the first time I've encountered this issue (see 1st screenshot below). LR is scrambling my files. The affected raw files open fine in other programs, including adobe photoshop cc (see 2nd screenshot).

View 3 Replies View RelatedThe issue probably has to do with the differences in settings. I am using the 64 bit version of Windows 7.I imported a group of pictures with the XMP sidecar files generated with Lightroom v3. All the image files, a mixture of Canon Mark 5D II RAW and jpg files from my point & shoot UFO camera, imported without issue picking up all my tagging and GPS settings. When importing you are put into the Library module and from the Library module I could click on any RAW or jpg file, look at the meta data and view full screen.
I then entered the Develop module with a jpg picture selected and none of my settings made it across. The process was set to 2012. I was able to try out the new adjustments and all worked very well.I then selected a RAW file while still in the Develop module and all hell broke loose.
I got a tip window pop up, the film strip went orange, the rest of the app screen then became greyed out and then behind tip pop up a crash window containing this information appeared:

There was no other path but to have the app close after that. Now since Lightroom has left off with the RAW file in the develop module when I restart the app it starts in the develop module with that same RAW image selected and I crash before I can change to a jpg. I am probably going to have to delete and recreated the data file to use the app again
After the all this I went back and checked to see how I had the catalog settings in LR 3 set because there were no sidecar files for the jpg images. I did not have the option to write settings to jpg and tif files but did have write settings to sidecar set. So I have a bit of a mystery why I have no sidecar files for jpg files when I should have based on the way the settings were. This probably explains why I had no issues at all with them in LR 4.
I am going to get LR 4 working again and then import the same batch of pictures without any sidecar files and see if I have any issues. I will report back soon.
I'm using LR 4.3, and would like to know how to determine which .dat cache files are associated with a certain folder of images. I don't know programming code, and, when I open a .dat cache file, I cannot determine which image file it goes with.
I've noticed that when I remove a folder from Lightroom, the cache files for the images in that folder remain, because the size of the cache doesn't change. I know I can flush the cache, but I don't want to have to reload tons of .dat files already present in the cache.
My sigma 18-250 macro canon mount lens is supported by Lightroom 5, but when I go to the lens correction profile list, it is not listed in my lightroom software program. I show a 18-200, but not my 18 - 250 macro.

Recently, whenever I am uploading my photos to Lightroom 5, my photos are changing to .dng files rather than staying in the NEF file. When I go and look back at my previous imports from the past few times, they are in NEF and NOT in .dng. View 2 Replies View RelatedRAW files from my D300 and my D600 look completely different. These are both NEF files, imported to Lightroom 4.2 using exactly the same import preset. I did NOTHING to either file, except that the D300 one was at 1/160 second and the D600 one was at 1/200 second, so I changed exposure on the D300 one by 1/3 stop so they would match. What I did was to shoot the D300 picture, then carefully changed the lens over to the D600 without moving anything, changed the D600 to DX mode to match the field of view and shot the same picture. The files should be essentially identical.

You will notice that the saturation on the D600 image is much higher. And it's much more yellow. The pictures were shot 2 minutes apart, from the same spot. Same lens, same camera settings.
First thing I did was to change the color temperature and tint to match: from 4150/+6 to 4200/+2. There was no visible change (I'm looking at them in compare mode in Lightroom on a calibrated monitor).
Next, I tried to change the D600 image to match the D300 one. I had to make substantial changes to both color balance and saturation of various colors, as well as contrast and black levels to get close. I'd give you absolute numbers but it varies from image to image. In this case, I had to drop the color temperature to 3500, for instance. The easiest way to do this was to use the white balance eyedropper on a grey area in the road.
I'm wondering if this is related to how LR handles the D600 NEF files. LR 4.2 says the D600 algorithm is 'preliminary'. Could this be part of it?
