Lightroom :: 5 - Sigma 18-250 Macro Lens Supported But Not Showing Up On List
Jan 31, 2014
My sigma 18-250 macro canon mount lens is supported by Lightroom 5, but when I go to the lens correction profile list, it is not listed in my lightroom software program. I show a 18-200, but not my 18 - 250 macro.
I recently bought a Sigma 50mm 1.4 lens and had to notice, that although LR is able to choose the right lens correction profile, it shortens the displayed lens name to "50mm". So if I export to jpg, the exifs only show "50mm" instead of "Sigma 50mm f/1.4 EX DG HSM" as it is displayed by other programs (eg. Mac OS Preview) when viewing the original cr2 file. This has to be a bug, since the Canon 50mm 1.4 and the 50mm 1.8 II remain their full name.I'm glad LR at least chooses the right correction profile, I kinda dislike to use "50mm" as lens filter option, because that doesn't really say anything about which exact lens was used (well, in my case it does, as the other 50mms are displayed correctly.
My Lens(es) are supported according to the official list. But current version of LR (5.3) is not showing my lens for selection. Also for some of my other lenses, where I think I could slelct the right profile in the past, I cannot select it currently.
My (new) lens I want to use is Tamrom 70-200 f/2.8 VC (A009E). The only Tamron lens I can choose is Di 28-75. Also my selections for Canon lenses are fewer than in the past, my 15-85 EF-S is missing now also.
Why won't the Lens Correction filter recognize my camera and lens, which is shown in the metadata below the correction window? I had been using the venerable Canon 5D Mk II and now the Mk III. For images taken with the III it doesn't even list Canon in the Camera drop down -- too new? Even with the II, I had to choose the camera manually and then choose the lens from a very tedious list, and had no indication if it was using the focal length in the case of a zoom, or the aperture.
I do strongly prefer to do this correction in Camera Raw or Lightroom, and realize it needs to be done on an uncropped image to be accurate. why even present it as an auto correction if it can't use the metadata? Why not just limit it to the manual correction?
My lens profiles in the distortion correction list are small. I looked at the official list and mine is not right. I only have one Tamron lens profile. Nikon and Canon only have about 6 lenses each. What gives?
I have a friend using Lightroom 3 on a Windows 7 PC. She uses multiple catalogs. (one for each client) as do I. Now when she launches LR the list of recent catalogs is empty. Could this be cleared some where? Why do they not show up and will they start showing up again after she opens different catalogs?
According to the keyword list panel, I have one photo assigned two words as keyword, but I don't have such a photo in my catalog. How can correct the numbers appearing near keywords in the keyword list panel?
The keywording & Keyword List tabs are not showing up in my library module on the right hand side. Also, I can't seem to use the Mac 'Command + K' shortcut to add a keyword. Have tried on photos that are both from my iphone (TIFF) as well as raw from my Nikon (NEF).
I followed the hint of PSP X4 to search the "List of supported RAW formats" on the Corel website. I only find a list for PSP X3 and in this list my camera (a Panasonic Lumix GH-2) isn't listed. Is there any newer list of supported RAW-formats / camera-types and if not, is the GH-2 supported and is there any lens specific correction data in X4 to auto correct the raw files?
I just got a Sigma dp1x. LR renders all my x3f raw files black. A normal preview will show up, but when I attempt to edit the photo, the picture goes completely black. I am running LR4.1 and ACR 7.1 win 7.
Using LR 3.5.1. When applying Lens Corrections/Profile/Enable in Default, my Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 actual lens is being corrected by the profile for a Sigma 10-20mm f/3.5 lens. I can tell it's the wrong correction because the barrel distortion after using the default profile is not corrected, and when I manually select the 4-5.6 lens the correction is perfect. So I know the right data is embedded in the LR correction data bank but is not being used.
I found that when I set the profile Setup selector to "Auto" the correct lens is selected and the correction it makes is "correct." But then moving to the next photo it switches to Default again, selecting the wrong lens, and so has to be set to Auto for each photo. This action doesn't seem to me to me an expected result called "Setup." I need this for my home interior photography, and with hundreds of photos a week I don't want to manually operate this. This didn't happen until v.3.4 or 3.5, I think.
So, how do I get it to select the right lens as the Default, or get the Auto setting to stick? Either would do. (Seems to me they logically are the same thing).
In addition, why isn't it possible to have the profile itself enabled as a default perhaps in a preset - or is that possible and I don't know how to do it? In other words, once it's working right, why not make it an import preset for that lens?
I'm trying out the new Sigma 24-105 DG lens with my 5D M II. The lens profile is not yet in the list of Sigma lenses. I checked and my LR is up to date with the latest version 5.3. Is there a way to find the lens profile to import for LR lens correction function? Or do I just need to wait until LR updates for new lenses?
In LR 4.4 lens correction profiles works fine for my Canon 70-200 f/4L IS USM, but when I use the Canon Extender 1.4 III with this lens there is no correction profile available. How do I obtain a profile covering this?
I'm a Sony user and installed the Lightroom 4 trial. It imported the old 3.6 catalog and gave me a nice new Lightroom 4 catalog. So far so good. Everything looked normal.
Now, when I import new .ARW (Sony Raw) pics into LR4, I'm not getting the lens information correctly. I use a tool call 'alphalensinfo' that reads .ARW files and creates .XMP files with the correct lens name. LR3.6 used to import the pics and read the XMP, giving a correct lens name in the LR catalog. LR4 seems to fail at this.
For instance, with my Samyang 8mm, Alphalensinfo would add the exif field to the XMP file saying "Samyang 8mm". LR3.6 then shows "Samyang 8mm" for the lens, after import. LR4 shows "---" for the lens.
Has something changed in the way LR 4 handles Lens EXIF information?
How or where can I get the lens correction profile for the Canon 18-135 STM lens in Lightroom 5 ? In effect he is not available in my list of correction lens so my lightroom is up to date apparently.
I have two versions of the sony 70-400 ssm lens versions I and II. Both lenses are identified as 70-400 SSM. However if I examine the exif data in the xml sidecar for photos taken with these two lenses they have different lens IDs 53 for the first version (70-400mm f/4-5.6 G SSM) of the lens and 69 for the newer version II (70-400mm f/4-5.6 G SSM II). How can I get lightroom to recognize these two lenses with different names.
I am using lightroom 5 at work and shot some images with a canon 5d2 body with tamron 24-70 2.8 vc and tamron 70-200 2.8 vc lense. According to the note below, both lens are supported since lightroom 4.1. However I can not find the profile of these two lens on lightroom 5. How I can bring the profile back in?
why all-the-sudden this macro does not show up in the list of macros? I'm not sure if it is conflicting with something else and it's been happening off and on.
Regarding the conversion of some WinAPI fucntions to 64 bit.Been banging my head on this one for a while. I just can't seem to get it right no matter what I try.I think I have converted everything but it still crashes X6 after a few scrolls of the list box. I think it is corrupting the stack but I'm not sure how to fix it. "The best thing about learning is that it never stops, and the rabbit hole will go as deep as you let it.
Will the current plugins for Sigma DP1/2 RAW files work with files from the DP1/2 Merrill cameras? And if not, is Adobe developing plugins for these cameras?
I have a macro that I acquired somewhere (possibly these boards, can't remember now) for placing a parts list. I have modified it somewhat to change the location on the sheet where the list gets placed, as well as a sub that starts the autoballoon command afterward.
The macro is set up to place the parts list in the upper left corner, by adding the parts list width to the Mini Point of the border. This works perfectly well, except that we have two parts list styles, and they are differently sized.
What I would like to do is have the macro detect the parts list style, and change the offset value depending on which style it finds. I am an extreme novice with the API, who basically knows just enough to tweak sample code a bit, and have not been able to find anything close enough to use as an example.
How I should go about this, or even post some samples of something similar? Current code is shown below.
Public Sub CreatePartsList() On Error Resume Next ' Set a reference to the drawing document. ' This assumes a drawing document is active. Dim oDrawDoc As DrawingDocument Set oDrawDoc = ThisApplication.ActiveDocument 'Set a reference to the active sheet. Dim oSheet As Sheet Set oSheet = oDrawDoc.ActiveSheet ' Set a reference to the first drawing view on ' the sheet. This assumes the first drawing ' view on the sheet is not a draft view. Dim oDrawingView As DrawingView Set oDrawingView = [code].......
The macro does not have to set the parts list style - that is controlled by the drawing Standard. It just needs to detect what it is, and place the list accordingly.
