I have lightroom 4.2 and have just been going through my photos to pick some out for a project, and I've found that some of my files have corrupted while looking at them. They were perfect before, and had used them for a number of years without a problem.
It was not the transfer, as I was using these photos before from as far back as 2008 (ones before this have not corrupted yet)
I'm new to LR4 and after I move the photo corners to use the crop tool, the white hand doesn't appear when I hover over the photo to then move it around....
View 5 Replies View RelatedToday when I was exploring the options renaming in library mode in order to keep the development settings my images have. Suddenly, on my hard drive I saw an entire photo folder filled with xmp files! No xmp files were visible before this and I have checked my catalog settings to make sure that writing to xmp files was not checked.
I don't use separate xmp files - Is there a way to merge the xmp files with their associated photo file? Can I delete them without loosing my develop settings and key words?
I have used Lightroom since v2 and currently on v5.3. Have been upgrading regularly and everything was working perfectly until today.
I have been experiencing a 2" black or white square while zooming that stays on image at that zoom ratio. I use Topaz Adjust and NIK software. If I save file and reopen it's gone!
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've constructed a logo that consists of several shapes that but up against each other. The sides that touch one another are completely flat. When I zoom in, the objects are touching, if not overlapping in some cases. This is okay as it is very small.
However when I save it as a pdf document to sent to a client, those thin lines between the shapes appear much more pronounced. It looks as if I have intentionally put a .5 stroke line between each object.
when i save my psd file i get these random black squares all ovr my picture.. what in the world can i do to remove these? i use photoshop cs6 on a mac
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just recently upgraded to Adobe Photoshop CC and something really odd is happening: On some zoom levels I have this empy black or white box appearing. When I zoom in or out it disappears, or reappears.
However, when I save the file as a JPEG, or bring it into Google Nik it is OK. It's almost like there is a software bug, or a bad memory spot in my video card.
When my animations loads (by clicking the packaging icon), a white block appears in the middle and I would like to know if there is a way that I could change it so it is either transparent or not have the white appear?
I made use of a EdgeDocks extention [URL] called Composition Loader to animate the centre.

I Keep having this reoccuring problem today - white lines keep appearing attatched to certain & all layers in photoshop files that I have, the only solution that seems to get rid of them is to put a mask on the layer and mask the line away, these are appearing on text, smart objects & rastersized layers.
They were not there when I previously saved the file and they should not be there now, I then went to open another file I had and white lines started to appear on the files. This is really frustrating because some of the website documents have alot of layers. I have attatched an example below, they only appear to be 1 pixel and can range up to 2500pixels wide and they overlap making the line look thicker sometimes.
While drafting floor plans; lines, fillet, Radius, Snap lines, there are small white boxes showing there is an angle or radius. They are getting in the way of drafting, slowing down my program and genuinely annoying. Do you know how to prevent them from appearing? Also, and I believe related, there are blue boxes appearing on all my right angles for reasons beyond me. How can I also prevent these from appearing?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI made a logo using elements. I have tried numerous ways to make it transparent but when I put it on my pictures there is a white square box that appears with it. I want my whole logo to be transparent. I have saved it png, png 24. And still nothing works. How to get this box to disappear. Just to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong I took a photo and made the background transparent and took the selection that was not and put it into a different photo and the white square edge was still around it.
View 15 Replies View RelatedAfter updating to LR 3.6 all of my files are now black & white 'highkey' and ugly as hell. Any new files I add are initially correct in the 'color' I shot them but once I select a single file they are all converted to the same crappy black/white. I uninstalled LR and reinstalled but the values are retained time and time again.
View 7 Replies View Related2 days ago all was fine Lightroom worked like a champ... yesterday all I get are gray squares insted of photo image. I have reloaded Lightroom 5.3 no change......From the same usb harddrive all works great on my desktop computer.. With laptop the gray squares. I have tried the Synchronize folder no change tho numbers showed up in loup view.........but no images. From the stand alone hard drive I can get photos in Photoshop and BRIDGE.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have moved the library folder in OSX and then tried to start lightroom again pointing it to the new library location. Afterwards all Previews were replaced by grey squares (with color curves showing on the right, stars etc. but no image). It looks like the previews are not created but all the information are there
why when moving to the Developer rider, the Photos appear and i can work on it again. Thereafter it also appears again in the previews. S
Tried to optimize library but after 6 days of process ongoing i stopped with no changes at all to the library. Have about 60k photos in the library.I have tried the monitor settings but that makes no difference.This also happens with newly imported pictures,the ones that were appearing clearly in the library are grey at the next start of the project.running lightroom 5 with imac and latest osx.

One of my DNG color files shows up in the Library as Black & White. I look on my backup files and this file shows as color. When I import the backup into LR4 it also shows up as Black & White in the Library?
How can I stop LR from changing my custom White Balance on importing RAW Infra Red files?

Set-up: Leica M9-P (firmware v1.194); Summicron f2 50mm; LR 5.2;
Image capture WB value set to 5000k; ISO 160; DNG file capture
Everytime I import the DNG files it sets the WB value to the last value I had the slider set to and not the value I have set on my camera.
I have tried reloading the firmware on the camera just in case it wasn't saving the value in the file but this has not worked.
I use LR on two separate MacBook Pro laptops using a common catalogue and image library stored on a single external hard drive. The problem occurs on both computers.
It's hugely frustrating. I want to be able to adjust the value on the camera depending on the local light situation at the time of taking the shot and have this setting transfer into LR5.2 at time of imort. At the moment I am having to keep a manual note of the image number and setting so that I can recreate it in LR once imported.
I set custom white balance for a lot of my photos (I'm a nightclub photographer) as sometimes the colours are so saturated the image becomes unusable. Unfortunately in Lightroom 4 the photos import with the correct WB I have set but when I click on them to develop the settings are changed and the image looks completely awful. I try and adjust the image back to the way I have taken it but it never looks the same....why is Lighroom not recognising the WB settings I set within my 5D?

When sending a raw image from lightroom to photoshop all I see is a blank photoshop window. If opening direct in photoshop it goes to camera raw first. I have just updated to the latest camera raw.
Veteran LR user here. Since updating, LR 5 consistently causes snags (for us) when creating web galleries. Here's the workflow: after editing raw files and applying settings, we have a nice folder of images cropped and ready to preview with client.
Now, when we go to the Web Module, the previews are grayed-back in the Filmstrip, and images won't appear in any of the web gallery templates (either custom ones we designed or the preset versions.) We've tried everything from flagging and staring images to get them to appear. Also save metadata to all the images in the folder.
The only thing that seems to work is to close LR5--with backup and catalog optimization--then, we re-open LR5. That seems to "free up" the Web Module. Upon reopening LR5, our folder of images suddenly appears when we go to the Web Module.
This is an unacceptable work around b/c closing and optimizing takes alot of time. Making web proofing galleries used to be a snap in previous versions of LR, now we're stumped in LR5 trying to figure out what we're doing wrong.
i've had this problem intermittently with about every version of LR i've had, since 1...but it seems to come and go. when i dodge a face, or a part of the image, i get these wierd blotches on the image.

Recently images opened in Photoshop from Lightroom are not recognizing the distortion correction when "enable profile corrections" is ticked for any lens.
I've tried reinstalling Lightroom; no difference. However, chromatic abberation corrected in Lightroom is recognized in Photoshop.
I just installed LR4.4 onto my Toshiba lap top, and when I try to import photos all I see are grey boxes.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been using custom profiles that I created using a ColourChecker Passport for sometime now. I just updated LR and ACR to the latest versions, and I've noticed that they are no longer selectable under the Camera Calibration tab - I just get the standard list of profiles for my camera (Nikon D7000).
I checked in the the relevant folder for LR and they weren't there, but they are in the ACR folder. I copied them across to the LR folder as well, but this has had no effect. In both cases, they're in the root-level folder for all profiles, so in LR's case, they're in C:Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4.3/resources /CameraProfiles. This is where both the CCP and Adobe DNG Profile Editor have previoulsy placed them by default - I've never needed to place them in the actual camera model folder itself. Both applications have always found them there without issue.
I'm trying to save or export my photos however the pop-up menu that allows the destination selection is only showing 'Export' and therest of the window is completely blank.
