Lightroom :: DNG Color Files Show Up In Library As Black And White
Nov 21, 2013
I have been using Lightroom for years and am using LR4 now and have just run into this issue:
Â
One of my DNG color files shows up in the Library as Black & White. I look on my backup files and this file shows as color. When I import the backup into LR4 it also shows up as Black & White in the Library?
i've set up two ctb files one color and the other black and white . is it possible to assign drawings on the same sheet , two different ctb files so that one prints in color and the other black and white.
How can this possibly happen? The section Apply During Import in the import dialog screen has a field for Develop Settings, but this field says None, so nothing should happen to the photos during import. So why do the display in B&W in Library?
I am very new to photography and Lightroom 3.4 64 bit. I have a photo of an apple on the table. I want to get the photo black and white (did that already). Now I want the apple it self to remain its own red color. How do I do that? Â Also, I have this apple and its reflection is on the knife that is cutting the apple. How can I get that in color too?
I've been working in Lightroom 4 on a photo that I took and I have everything the way I want it (these adjustments include increasing the saturation on some colors under the HSL tab). Now I am trying to make the top half of the picture just black and white, but when I chose the Adjustment Brush and sturn the Saturation down on it to -100 and start going over the top half of the picutre, some of the colors (the ones I turned the Saturation up on under the HSL tab) dull a little but do not go completely Black & White.
following image shows up fine on WIndows machines, but on Macs it shows up as balck instead of navy, why? I have tried svaing in PDF, JPG, PNG, and PDF nwith Mac color profiles... what is going on? PS, the navy is #0d1125
I applied a preset to an image, and overall I like it except that it has a pinkish tone to it. The develop panel shows it as a black and white (not just desaturated) image, and there is no tone applied through the split tone panel (both saturation levels set to 0%). I can't figure out where the color is coming from -- I'd like to reduce it or change the color without having to drag it into Photoshop.Â
After updating to LR 3.6 all of my files are now black & white 'highkey' and ugly as hell. Any new files I add are initially correct in the 'color' I shot them but once I select a single file they are all converted to the same crappy black/white. I uninstalled LR and reinstalled but the values are retained time and time again.
I'm trying to take a black and white photo of a flower and ONLY make the flower in color.. like a layer.... I've tried using the adjustment brush, but that doesnt work well..
I scanned a black and white print in color and am trying to replace all the black with dark green. Been trying for hours in elements 9. This is all so hard. Just to ask this question I have typed it into 3 different screens, set screenname, many other hurdles.
I have been shooting RAW for a while and have notice that after I import the images and then start to view them in the Library Module I will see a slight color and quality shift - almost looks like a white balance shift but not quite.  I was thinking that perhaps there was some automatic preset being applied but I don't have any presets at all.  I am shooting with a Canon 1DX as well as 7D. I have not checked to see if I get this situation with the 7D, but I know for sure that I get it with the 1DX.  Today I was reviewing some images in Bridge and decided to open one of them in Camera RAW.  At that time I discovered that the camera's Image Style Settings were available, Faithful, Standard, Portrait, etc. I noticed that the images did not have one of the camera styles applied to them but rather the Adobe Standard Style. At that point from within RAW I selected one of the camera's styles and bingo thats the kind of shift I am seeing when I first view an image in LR4 Library.  So as far as I can tell the RAW images are getting the Adobe Standard style applied in LR.  I have no idea if this is a default behavior of if I have done something to cause it. I'm also thinking that perhaps LR does not necessarily apply the Camera's Styles automatically even though the particular style has been set in the camera -- perhaps is not imported as part of the metadata during the import and thus defaults to the Adobe Standard.  1. Should I expect LR4 to apply the Style as set from the camera automatically or not at all? 2. Can I prevent LR from applying the Adobe Standard Style and apply no style? 3. Can I cause LR to apply the Style as set in the camera for the particular image to be appied automatically upon import?
I have a color picture which I took, of a red berry bush. I want to remove all the color except for the red from the berries. I know how to lasso the berries, but I can't remove the color from the bush/background and leave the red berries.
Note: I did this once a couple years ago, and can't remember how I did it..I have some memories, but probably remember just enough to make me dangerous. I have done some searches but obviously the results are numeorus and I haven't found what I am looking for yet.
I know the solution involves selecting the berries and then inversing it and then setting all 3 colors to 0 for the background.
What I can do is 1) lasso the berries
2) inverse what I can't figure out 1) it seems like there was 1 step about layering which enabled me to get started, but I don't remember this, it does seem like I am missing something very basic when I try to do this
3) Where is the color scale, the only thing I can find is the grayscale option which switches the entire project to black and white.
I tried to set a color photo over top of a black and white one to airbrush away enough to expose the backround (the grayscale pic) but when I tried to copy onto the first layer, it turned my color photo to grayscale. I tried this with the gray pic locked and unlocked. What did I do wrong, or can this even be done?
how i can take a picture and get especific objects and keep them in color and change the rest to black and white? Its one of those cool effects dont know if u guys seen it...thanks
The question that i have is, how do you do the effect, or is it even an affect where the whole pic is black and white but there is 1 color that is not. like from the attached pic you can see that the red is showing. you can see some on my skin and some on that red tape thing in the background.
OK So I’ve been looking and searching around this site to try to get to know it. I found so many things that I'll use!! One thing I found but couldn't get to much detail on is coloring a grayscale image.
How do you get the hair color? Do you really need to Zoom in and just go in to detail? I guess that's what make a great Artist..
I want a plugin that make the black and white (pic. 1) pictures to color pictures (pic. 2) like RED or what hex you add in. Opposite of Black and White addon (pic. 3).
In celebration of our 50th anniversary, I would like to create a series of ads that have a black & white image (old) fading into a full color image (new) as the background. What is the best way to accomplish this?  Ubiquitous Info: Adobe CS6 PS v13.0.1 x32 extended on a Win XP sp3 OS
