View 2 Replies View RelatedI like to organize my photos by date. When I import my photos through lightroom 5, I specify in the metadata to organize by date, (in which it is listed correctly) and choose the destination folder. However, once I perform the import, it creates a completely separate folder under the year "2012". How can I fix this problem to import under the correct file dates?

View 7 Replies View Relatedhow to change one of the entries in TranslatedStrings.txt in order to provide a different/custom destination folder naming scheme for importing.
This definitely worked in some previous versions (a while since I tried it) but in 4.1 it doesn't seem to work -- there is no such file in /Applications/Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4.app/Contents or in the en.lproj subfolder (which seems to be where the non English TranslatedStrings.txt files live).
I won't go into why I need to do this, suffice to say if I can't do it, I'm going to face a tedious process of importing a load of stuff year by year and choosing the destination base folder manually for each year. Which is do-able, it's just a big pain.
I'm using Lightroom 5.2RC. My camera is Sony RX100M2.
Everything was working fine until a few hours ago. Then I noticed that a few shots I took late this evening were being imported into yesterday's folder. So I carefully checked what was going on, and noticed that LR import was seeing an incorrect date and time for the file! For example, below you see the date/time it sees for the first image -- that date/time is wrong.
: LR sees the wrong date/time whether I try to import from camera, from SD card in card slot, or WiFi.
Windows Explorer reads the correct date/time of the files, as does the camera, Playmemories etc. Only Lightroom is seeing a wrong date/time. I even uninstalled LR and reinstalled it, and it's still seeing the wrong date/time in import. I have also formatted my card and took new photos, but same behavior.
I have a file on my computer that contains photos from two cameras that took photos over the same three week timespan. I have sorted them by date and time. When I import the file the photos from one camera show first followed by the photos from the other camera. How can I import or resort in LR3 to have photos in date/time sequence?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been using a trial version of LR 4 and would like to know if LR can use the format of "MM-DD-YY" for the subfolder of the destination folder. My many years of files are organized by the "YYYY" top folder then "MM-YY" then by date of shooting, "MM-DD-YY" within the corresponding month. Is this possible or must I continue to rename the folders after import?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am new to Lightroom 5. I imported some photos, but never named a Catalog. I would love to change the name of that catalog and am wondering how to do that? Also the date for the import is July 5, 2013 rather than January 15, 2014 the day I imported them. How do I change the date? I almost want to delete the photos and start over. Can I do that?

Last time this happend was yesterday (2013-06-05). Almost all photos was automaticlly in folder for 2013-06-05 for the import but 10 photos shot between 10.07pm - 10.43pm was put in the folder 2013-06-06.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhy does the capture date in the metadata panel not match the capture date seen in the grid extra view and how do I fix it? The images that I have in my library are digitized negatives and I've corrected the capture dates and times to be accurate; however, the capture date and in the metadata window shows what I've changed it to and the date in both the grid extra view and the Metadata>Edit Capture Time... options both reflect the date the image was last modified. Not all of the images in my library are this way and some show the correct information. When sorted by Capture Time, all images fall exactly where they should in the proper order (based on the changed, corrected edit time and not the modified date). I saved metadata to the file with the new date but it didn't fix it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have Photoshop Elements 10.0, I use this software from version 6, but after installation of latest release (10) I have this problem:
when I use IMPORT FROM -> CAMERA MEMORY
I ever selected CREATE SUBFOLDER WITH DATE OF CAPTURE -> FORMAT aaaa mm gg
Now I have the same confguration but the program saves an incorrect date so it puts aaaa gg mm also if I selectd aaaa mm gg
The weird thing is that it renames correctly the single picture so aaaa mm gg is really aaaa gg mm
This is a very big problem because I must rename every single folder manually.
I think that this is a bug of the program (it happens now on a new pc and before on another pc).

View 6 Replies View RelatedI wish to import a mixture of Images and videos taken in date sequence by my camera. img and avi.
They import into the library but sort automatically by name or by type (effectivly the same) But when I select sort by date (to get them into the sequence in which they were taken) nothing happens. How to do this? Or does the function not work?
The video I will produce needs to be in date/time order. Is it just that the "time" is not used in the sort and everything taken in one day will not be sorted in chronological order?
I am using Ulead Video Studio version 11 for a film project. However, I have just finished the trimming and now Ive come to the rearranging of clips which I thought would be the easiest part. With clicking and dragging in the storyboard mode, it seems that I can only move clips from left to right. The exception is the very first clip - that cannot be moved at all. And no matter how many times I try, I cannot move clips from right to left. Crazy.
There are 94 seperate clips in this film and obviously, I don't want to shift every single one of those to the right just to get the correct arrangement of several clips. I've held down the shift key and also the alt key while clicking and dragging but that does nothing. For version 11, is there indeed a way that I can move clips from right to left? What I want to do is dead simple. All of the other NLE programs Ive used allow for hassle free rearrangement of shots, even Windows Movie Maker.
I have been trying to swap the Library Panel with the Previewer......so that the Previewer is on the Right Top and the Library on the Left Top...and the story line unchnaged. When I drag the Previewer to the Right Top....it will remian where I place it but covers up part of the Library. I just want to swap positions of these 2 panels......without covering up either...can that be done? If yes, than I must be failing to do something because...I have not been sucessful....I can move all the panels around.....but when doing so they always overlapcover other panels.......
View 12 Replies View RelatedI want to deconstruct a design and rearrange the parts.I have a horizontal banner-style logo with an image on the left and text stretching out to the right. I want to make a square badge by moving the text to be above the image.
Using logic I copied and pasted the EPS original to make three layers. Then I tried cropping to create the various elements (one is the image, two others are words). It's not working. Each time I crop one layer, all the layers crop.
Obviously I'm missing a step or two in isolating the layers or something. I have been using the EPS version of the logo file but I also have it in PNG and JPG.
How do i move rows manually up/down in the part list without having to change the ballon/item number? I dont want to use the "sort by" command either because its either one way or the other and not manually like i want to.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAll of a sudden I notice that when I open a file in Autocad Architecture, it shows the file creation date and not the actual last save date. Only thing I can think of is I reinstalled 3dsmax Design and I wonder if that changed something. I attached a screenshot for reference.

I have included both a text and a date as part of the photo caption on each of my photos. When I have attempted to search for a specific date or year, however, nothing comes up. For example, if I search for my photo on "Fido 1985", I can find Fido, but if I simply enter "1985", I get nothing.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've got some 500 photos in a folder which were imported on two different dates. I've created a new album on the right hand side under "Organize" and just the photos I want are in there. When I look at the folder on the right, all the pictures are there. But I can't call up just that folder; instead what I get on my screen is all 2500 photos in all my photo albums! Not what I want! What I want to get is all the photos in the order in which they were taken on the actual day as all 500 photos were taken at the same day. And I want to be able to view just the 500 photos in that folder by the time those pictures were taken. But, when I imported the second batch of photos it showed the date the file was created rather than the date the photo was taken so, basically, I've got one batch of photos showing the date they were taken (which I downloaded via a link a few days later), and one showing the date they were copied!
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently set up Elements 12. Prior to this I used elements 11. In that catalog I have more photos that I don't want. So I decided to export the ones I want then import into PSE 12. As I do this many of the dates on the pictures change from the date taken to the current date. I have tried several different ways and can't stop the dates changing. I am putting them into mobile albums in PSE 12 if that makes a difference.
