View 3 RepliesI am wondering if it is possible to move/focus the manipulator gizmos in Maya.
If I for example am working on a tall plank and want to align the bottom part with something I'd zoom in to be more precise, but since the manipulator is stuck in the middle of the plank I have to zoom out anyway and find a spot where I'm fairly zoomed in but still can see the manipulator.. If there is a way to make the manipulator follow on the screen when i zoom in (without altering the pivot point) I'd be able to work so much easier.I am of course talking about all the manipulators (move, rotate and scale).
I have come to Inventor after using Pro-Engineer and Solidworks. How to find the inspect tools difficult to use? The effort required to find the radius of a fillet (for example on imported parts) is huge. I am using IV 2013.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI was recently looking at the WikiHelp entry on AutoLimits, because it sounded useful but I haven't seen it before. However, upon checking, I noticed that I don't have the AutoLimits panel in my Inspect tab. Instead, I only have the Interference (buttons: Analyze Interference; Activate Contact Solver) and Measure (buttons: Distance, Angle, Loop, Area, Region Properties) panels.

I am a AutoCad drafter for telecommunications and I have utility pole points (long/lats)
I can insert the poles via long/lat and all is great, my issue is I would like more information in those points.
For example, pole number, class, HOA, Make Ready. Currently I create a survey data store and import ASCII Points using PNE(comma delimited)
So with my Excel file (this is where I get my pole information from) I get a point/northing/easting to enter into the formatting section.
I would like to add more information to these individual points, like ploe number, class, HOA...
If I view the point table I see that there are a lot of other columns, can I use them or customize them? is there a quick tutorial on this issue?
I bought a Canon S100 specifically for its GPs and movie capability. On a recent vacation, I used the S100 and a Nikon D300. In cases where images were taken with both cameras in approximately the same place, I would like to copy the GPS information from the S100 CR2 files to the D300 NEF files.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have backed up my files on my external hard drive, and then to make space I deleted some of them from my hard drive. Although I added the external files back into Lightroom (ver. 3) none of my Lightroom settings have remained, so all collection information and all development settings have gone. It there any way to get this information back? I have religiously done Lightroom backups but am afraid that if I use one of these back ups I will lose some of my more recent settings, work that I have done since I deleted the files from my hard drive. I am hoping there is some simple way of relinking to retrieve this information. I tried to use 'find missing photos' but couldn't get that to work.

For example, I'm editing some photos and want to show someone on another computer by copying the photos onto a jump drive and bringing the drive to the other person's computer. They would then be able to open my photos in LR and see the edits I've made.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter importing my images into Lightroom 5.3, I discovered that the GPS location data was imported for some images, but not for others. When I checked the metadata files for the same images in Bridge, the location data was present for all of my recently downloaded images.
Why would Lightroom import the GPS data for some images and not others?
Is there any way to import the location data from the Bridge metadata files into Lightroom?
How do I to change some of the information in a custom metadata preset which I already created for in the "Applying During Import" window. If the preset can/t be modified, is there a way to simply remove it and make another one. Also, how to enlarge or reduce the size of lightroom on my monitor?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a number of unchipped manual focus lenses (Zeiss and Nikon). As a result, no lens information is recorded in the EXIF/Metadata file. How am I able to update this information? What applications are available to use if not by Adobe. Note: I do use LR3 and PS CS5.
Currently under the library table and Metadata filter these unchipped lenses read "0.0mm f/0.0". Note I do use the set up in my camera menu to notify the camera's focal length. So when I move the cursor over the photo is will indicate the focal length. Its just this information can't be used as a filter or for search.

View 20 Replies View RelatedI prefer using multiple catalogs rather than 1 large one, as I prefer to organize via event/date. The issue I've encountered is, that every time I create a new catalog, I have to reenter my information on the flickr plugin, and assume that all the plugins work this way. So simply, is it possible to enter the login info the 1 time, and have it load for every catalog? The other option I can explore if there is no simple fix for this issue is to edit the existing flickr plugin, the biggest issue with this however is that the 1 in SDK 5.0 is now outdated/unuseable and the plugin installed is a single file and not multiple editable lua files.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhy does checking "Profile corrections" require to select the manufacturer "Tamron" to automatically detect my Tamron 24-70 F/2.8 Di VC USD A007N? After I pick "Tamron", the lens is properly detected.
As far as I know, Exif-information holds all necessary information on the lens. The Nikon Lens ID value 'FE 48 37 5C 24 24 DF 0E' uniquely refers to that lens.
I'm a Sony user and installed the Lightroom 4 trial. It imported the old 3.6 catalog and gave me a nice new Lightroom 4 catalog. So far so good. Everything looked normal.
Now, when I import new .ARW (Sony Raw) pics into LR4, I'm not getting the lens information correctly. I use a tool call 'alphalensinfo' that reads .ARW files and creates .XMP files with the correct lens name. LR3.6 used to import the pics and read the XMP, giving a correct lens name in the LR catalog. LR4 seems to fail at this.
For instance, with my Samyang 8mm, Alphalensinfo would add the exif field to the XMP file saying "Samyang 8mm". LR3.6 then shows "Samyang 8mm" for the lens, after import. LR4 shows "---" for the lens.
Has something changed in the way LR 4 handles Lens EXIF information?
