I have numbers of images with the badge that says 'metadat files need to be updated' I save but the badge remains. I have saved repeatedly, no change. I quit and reopened, no change. I opened the image in the finder - the image looks like an unprocessed CR2 but if I open in PSCS5 the processing changes are shown.

The thumbnails in Grid view and in thePanel at the bottom of the grid do not show badges. I can see which collections photos are in by right click and go to collection but his is a real pain if you want to see which collections a photo is in I have set view -options -gridview -Thumbnail badges positive I have set preferences -Interface - show badges positive

add keywords & metadata to an extremely large group of photos in Lightroom 4. The intern will have their own workstation so we'll be passing files back and forth. I need to add their work to mine, keeping all of the keyword/metadata work tied to the virtual photos which already have some work done to them (some keywords, metatdata and photo enhancements already in place on some photos).

For example the original filename is DSC_1234.NEF and I would like to rename it to 'Hawaii_1234.NEF' in the catalog and also the filename in HDD, but woud like to keep the original 'DSC_1234.NEF' in Metadata.

Seems like LR will also rename filename in Metadata though I read previously renaming after import (through Library - Rename Photo option) will not alter the 'original' filename in Metadata.
I would like to add some fields to filter on in the Library Filter section of Metadata. I do not see an option or a way to do this natively in LR. I am running Windows 7 64 bit with LR 4.2.

The metadata folder in the library module is missing in the right panel. It was present when I first purchased Lightroom 3 but has since disappeared from view, but don't know exactly when.

When I transitioned to 3, the Location field then changed to Sublocation in the Default metadata panel, but it had my data in there. Recently now the Location column in Library Filter does not list the entries in this field, it just shows everything as Unknown Country. How do I fix this, or have the data show in the Filters?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using LR 4.2 (on Mac) and have been using LR since 2.0. Yesterday all the badges on all my photos disappeared in Grid View. I didn't change any prefernce settings, or update that I am aware of. When I go to View > Grid View Styles> Show Badges, that option is checked, however it is grayed out. On the Mac that usually indicates it is not a viable option.

I've been using LR for a while and just in the last week or so I've noticed that in the develope module the badges on the thumbnails in the filmstrip have disappeared. Have I accidentally clicked on something and switched them off? I can hover over a highlighted thumbnail and right click, go to the view options and see that there's a check mark next to the "show badges" option.Â
View 3 Replies View RelatedI do most of my work on my desktop, and all the files are held there with xmp files. On my laptop, I import the photos in their folders, but leave the files on the desktop, and I am now going to be doing that more with the new smart preview option.

The one problem I have, though, is that the pick flags are not in the metadata, and therefore don't cross to the laptop. Is there any way this can be done? I use the laptop to show others, and to allow them to choose the photos they want, so it would be good to have the flags and the colour badges, and for the traffic to go in both directions.
I made some changes to layers and line scales in our idw template and then saved them to the style library to keep things synchronized. When I started a new drawing I got a style conflict message as if I had not saved the changes to the style library (see attached). My project file is set to Use Style Library =Yes, and what's more strange is that only six of the layers didn't update in the style library while the rest did? These six layers indeed show they need to be updated in the style library when I went back into the template, but when I update them the same thing happens.

I have it set as persistent, and the library works fine, but it doesn't update when I make changes to it. As far as I can tell, it's still stuck at the point where I upgraded to CC a few months ago. I've tried unchecking persistent, closing the library and Illustrator, then reopening and reinstalling the library, and it's still reverting to the old version.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI created custom library by coping iso read only library. Then edited custom library family table and created extra columns (for custom iproperties) for company purpose BOM. This columns needs to be updated from time to time with new part numbers.
When I update part numbers and hit apply it tells me that published successfully to selected library. Then i go to iproperties of updated parts and this update is not showing up.
I am using inventor 2010 and vault server.
I use a style library. Have it in a read-only mode in the ipj file. My drawing created a new template with a rev table with required columns.
Now, I create a new drawing file and choose this template. add few views, insert a rev table. The rev table columns headings are the same as in the template. But the column widths aren't same as in the template.
I use manage->update. It warns me that the drawing would be matched as per the style library. I agree & OK.
No use, the columns are not same size? Though the style is read only from the drawing, I go to open the style editor to check the column widths. They are different from the template.
Where I can find pre-made vector versions of police badges? Or would I just have to recreate the one that I have? The problem I have is the scans that I have are low res that I can't see details to work from.

What I would like to be able to do in import or insert a scanned image or photo onto the template so I can make badges with photos or images from the web (e.g. football team emblems etc.). Is it possible to do this? Also can you import/insert images & then re-size them to fit the template so the image will be the right size for the badge?
I am using Mech 2007. I have created a template to use with new drawings, and want to know if there is a way to update all the drawings at the same time when updating the template.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI use a variety of programs to edit the xmp data (mostly Lightroom and exiftool right now), so I know the importance of the "Automatically write XMP data to file setting" (ON in my case). After a few days (actually more like a week) of writing xmp data and then reading into (or synching folders in) Lightroom, I found a number of "metadata conflicts" in my catalog. Since these are basically impossible to fix for a large catalog (since there is no way to show the files that have conflicts), I started over and created a new catalog, and imported all 40,000+ images into it.

However, with my new catalog (with presumably no metadata conflicts), the first image that I tried to change the metadata on gave me a metadata conflict (presumably when Lightroom tried to save the xmp data after I changed it). This was a jpg file, so the metadata is being (or not being) written into the file. Reading the metadata from the file into Lightroom did not fix the problem. The Metadata Status field in the Lightroom Metadata panel says "Unknown" and clicking on the word "Unknown" brings up a panel saying "There was an unknown error while writing metadata to this photo. Retry?", and neither retrying the save nor importing the settings from disk resolves the conflict.

I think that the problem is that the jpeg is somehow corrupt, because if I save a copy in Photoshop, I can read and write the metadata in that copy. And, the copy has, I think, the same metadata as the original. (Of course, the image is probably imperceptibly degraded because I re-jpeg'd it).

I am worried that I have a number of files with this kind of problem, I guess I could "Save Metadata" for all files in my catalog (thus updating the file modified date for all 2 TB of data, and causing a massive backup issue), and then look through my catalog for those elusive exclamation points. But I'd like something better.how the jpeg could have gotten corrupted, but I do have an archived version that I could look at.
I have a new Geotagger Pro 2 GPS (Solmeta) and tried it out yesterday. The GPS coordinants are not in the metadata. I do get the elevation and the direction the photo was taken. I tried Updating & Read Metadata in the menu but I still do not get the info. When viewed the photos in the camera, they had the GPS data.
