View 2 RepliesI need to copy my edited photos to a flash drive to play on our photo frame. I don't want to move them, just copy them and they need to be JPGs for the frame. I would prefer to keep the files full size rather than dumb them down for e-mail. What are my options? I have thousands of photos in LR and now I'm concerned that LR won't do the job for me.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am running LR4.3 on a Vista 32 bit system. I have a new Toshiba external drive that has been storing my work from lightroom. All has been working great until last night. I was working on photos and all of a sudden a banner came across the top saying photos is missing or offline and then that the folder was missing. The external drive was still plugged in but not lit up. I unplugged it and shut everything down (multiple times) but the drive has disappeared from the selectable drives on the left hand side. I can access the external drive through windows and my photos are there but LR4.3 does not see it. How can I get LR to see the drive again?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI was trying to put together a slideshow in the Trial Version of Lightroom 1.0(on WindowsXP SP2) and I clicked on the Soundtrack section to add music. When the browse for music dialog came up it only showed drives below my H: drive. I keep my music on my M: drive and could not add music to the slideshow. I tried sharing my M: Drive and mapping it to my F: drive, but when I selected it I got "The folder F: cannot be used, please try another folder." This is a severe limitation.
I was planning on purchasing this version, but it looks like it is not quite ready yet. Maybe I will wait for 2.0. I was also not able to stack photos or change the folder that I import to from the downloader.
Why Lightroom does not support most simple function like a COPY? I have pictures in RAW format and need to copy it on usb drive and fail there no COPY only export. Another problem, there no PNG export. Every program I know reads and saves as PNG. Lightroom is the frist one that does not do it ...
Or there any way to bypass that ridiculous limitation without changing a program?
Importing files to a flash drive-when I hit import it says files are missing, I`m looking at the files in LR and my Windows picture folder, The names match, already checked that!
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm exporting photos from LR3 via a user export preset (from library: file, export with preset, user preset...) to a flash drive for viewing on a photo frame. It exported 4 photos just fine and now additional files are not being written. I'm am exporting one at a time to control the order they are read on the frame. I use Windows XP and the flash drive is an 8gb newly formatted on the computer. I've removed the drive (yes, safely) and tried numerous times with several other photos from the same folder. It gives me an "export results" message telling me that the file could not be written but no other explanation or info. All photos are jpegs being saved as jpegs and all have usual post processing changes.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to import some photos into LR from a camera and I know that there are many photos on the camera that have already been imported. Usually if I choose New Photos LR sees them and doesn't import them, but now it isn't. I started importing them and it started giving the duplicate file names -2 extensions.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI currently use iphoto and have all of my photos on an external hard drive. When I hit import it the program seems to recognize my external hard drive but does not seem to recognize the iphoto subdirectory and therefore shows that there are no photos to import.
Do i need to select some setting somewhere to recognize photos in iphoto?

View 3 Replies View Relatedhow I prevent Lightroom 4 from automatically republishing photos on my Flickr account? It is frustrating that any slight alteration to Metadata etc automatically places photos already on Flickr on the republising list meaning that I have to update their details on my Flickr account every time I place anything new on it from Lightroom.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI do not want my C drive involved with LR except for the catalog.
What I try to do is create a folder on my D drive and copy files from my CF card to a folder on the D drive. On import I select the newly created folder and import from there. Somehow LR does not want my photos on the D drive but on the C drive.
I cannot find a way to do this which is important because my C drive is under stress with Windows 7 64 and I don't have a lot of room to spare.
I know this is probably very basic but every time I create a folder on the D drive and import the photos are actually in My Pictures folder on the C drive.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAll of my photos have been imported already but some are on my C drive and others are on my H drive. All of those on my H drive are all under a single folder My Lightroom photographs. Those on my C drive are under a whole set of about 50 folders. I can consolidate all my folders on my H drive within lightroom library module by dragging and dropping on the left hand side. I have experimented and I can certainly drag from the C drive to the H drive. However I need to create a visible top folder destination file on the H drive. Ideally I would like to go to my existing Lightroom photographs but if I can't I'm happy to create an aditional umbrella folder.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI cannot convince Lightroom 4.1 running on Windows 7 to import to the drive given in Catalog Settings>Location. It invariably imports to the drive where the Lightroom application resides... correct folder name but wrong drive. I've checked everything, and both the Windows Users Photo folder and Windows Photo Library folders are pointing to the correct drive as well.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently had to format the ext drive that my photos were on. after doing that i put all those photos back. i opened Finder, clicked ext drive titled Photos and placed the parent folder, My Pictures there.
When I now look at the folders panel the parent folder is Photos and then My Pictures. in older catalogs the parent folder was always My Pictures. there are no ?s anywhere. wondering whether i put the photos back in the right way or right place.
Even though i select a specific folder when i now import photos they go to a completely different and new folder and seemingly to a new drive titled Photos. that is also the name of the drive that all the photos are on. when i click "show in finder" all images show the original drive titled Photos. so when you look at the folder panel it looks like there are actually two drives titled Photos and the imported photos are now going to the second Photos drive. in reality there is only one drive titled Photos.
i can't get imported photos to go to the correct drive.
