I need to copy my edited photos to a flash drive to play on our photo frame. I don't want to move them, just copy them and they need to be JPGs for the frame. I would prefer to keep the files full size rather than dumb them down for e-mail. What are my options? I have thousands of photos in LR and now I'm concerned that LR won't do the job for me.

Why Lightroom does not support most simple function like a COPY? I have pictures in RAW format and need to copy it on usb drive and fail there no COPY only export. Another problem, there no PNG export. Every program I know reads and saves as PNG. Lightroom is the frist one that does not do it ...
Or there any way to bypass that ridiculous limitation without changing a program?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI created a folder on my flash drive. I'm trying to use Batch Process to copy the files to the drive. I'm not adding a script. The name of the new folder comes up in the dialogue box, but when I click on the start button I get a notice that the file already exits and do I want to overwrite it. I click on yes. All the photos are then copied, but when I go to the new folder in my flash drive it's empty.
I'm following the instructions in Diane Koers book on PSP X4.
Also, I can't seem to use Batch Process to save my JPEGs and TIFFs. Is it possible to do this.

Now, when I open a "collection", the photo files are no longer associated with the collection. How do I reassign a location to these files in these collections?
I have already reassigned the photo files in the catalog to their new harddrive location.
Importing files to a flash drive-when I hit import it says files are missing, I`m looking at the files in LR and my Windows picture folder, The names match, already checked that!
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm exporting photos from LR3 via a user export preset (from library: file, export with preset, user preset...) to a flash drive for viewing on a photo frame. It exported 4 photos just fine and now additional files are not being written. I'm am exporting one at a time to control the order they are read on the frame. I use Windows XP and the flash drive is an 8gb newly formatted on the computer. I've removed the drive (yes, safely) and tried numerous times with several other photos from the same folder. It gives me an "export results" message telling me that the file could not be written but no other explanation or info. All photos are jpegs being saved as jpegs and all have usual post processing changes.

I have a picture that is rectangle and obviously cannot resize to a square - distorts the picture. I know there is a way to copy the rectangle picture into a square picture frame which allows the picture to be square while not distorting the rectangle size.
But I don't know how to do this. I have watched a video on this but still not clear how to do it.

I've been using LR since it was first available and for raw files I import using "Convert to DNG, rename and make a copy to a second drive". Looking back throught the folders on the second drive I found that a lot of files over the last year or so have been renamed but not converted to DNG.

I’m using Lightroom 4.x on Mac Pro, 10.6.8 OS. MY 1TB internal drive is full so I want to copy all my images to a new 4TB internal drive. I also want to make a back up copy to an external hard drive but not necessarily at the same time.
What is the best way to do this so that Lightroom will have no problem linking to my photos? I’m thinking that making a clone copy via SuperDuper or CCC??

View 1 Replies View RelatedI would like to consolidate all of my image files onto one hard drive by copying them from multiple drives to one large new one. The desired result is that I would have my library on that new drive, with all the links making sense to LR, but leaving the original files on those original drives as an archival back up. I know how to MOVE the files within LR, but I can't figure out how to COPY them. If the image files were not already in the catalog, I would just import them using "copy and add to catalog." Worst case, I suppose I could move all of the files to the new drive and then export copies to the old drives, but that seems very time consuming. I have more than 3TB of files.

What I try to do is create a folder on my D drive and copy files from my CF card to a folder on the D drive. On import I select the newly created folder and import from there. Somehow LR does not want my photos on the D drive but on the C drive.
I cannot find a way to do this which is important because my C drive is under stress with Windows 7 64 and I don't have a lot of room to spare.
I know this is probably very basic but every time I create a folder on the D drive and import the photos are actually in My Pictures folder on the C drive.
I store my images on an external hard drive. I recently upgraded from LR 3.6 on a windows XP machine to LR 5 on an iMac. I moved my catalogue fine, I think, as I can see all my images in LR 5 on the iMac. The problem is that I suspect there is some problem between the iMac and the external hard drive. I cannot import my RAW photos from my CF card into LR and onto the external hard drive. LR tells me "could not copy files to the requested location."
Is there some problem because I changed from windows to Mac? Problem bc I upgraded from LR 3.6 to LR 5?

View 1 Replies View RelatedAll of my photos have been imported already but some are on my C drive and others are on my H drive. All of those on my H drive are all under a single folder My Lightroom photographs. Those on my C drive are under a whole set of about 50 folders. I can consolidate all my folders on my H drive within lightroom library module by dragging and dropping on the left hand side. I have experimented and I can certainly drag from the C drive to the H drive. However I need to create a visible top folder destination file on the H drive. Ideally I would like to go to my existing Lightroom photographs but if I can't I'm happy to create an aditional umbrella folder.
