Oct 13, 2013I have tried to download my raw files CR2 to my Photoshop cs5 but it keep saying
"Could not complete your request because the file appears to be from a camera model which is not supported by the installed version of camera raw."
My camera model is Canon 650d which is supported and i have downloaded the latest raw update but every time i go to the Help > About Plug in, it keep saying that my version is 6.3.0.79.

May 3, 2013I have downloaded DNG7.2 but still cannot open Raw files from my Canon 650d. When I open up the converter, I cannot choose a folder to convert images. If I try and convert a single image I am getting a write permission error.

Sep 20, 2013I am using a mac osx Cs5.1 and plugin 6.3.0.79 Now I have just got a rebel 650d and that states the cr2 is supported only by camera raw 7.1 and above.
Now it seems that I cannot download that on my cs5 because it appears only for CS6, yet my CS5 was only purchased in 2012 what is going on.
Are Adobe so thoughtless as to not provide some su[pport for these newer cameras, we cant all rush off and buy upgrades to photoshop everytime adobe feels the need to put one out.

Mar 11, 2013We have versions 9 and 10 of PSE to install on two computers, upgrading from version 6 on one of them.
We have two Canon cameras - a 450D and a 650D - and have taken RAWs on both. The 450 works fine with PSE6, but we can't get PSE 9 to take a RAW converter new enough to read the 650 files.
We don't really understand the difference between CR2 and DNG so don't know what we might lose if we used the DNG converter for the 650 RAW files.

Dec 16, 2013I am a professional photographer and educator. I have a client who just purchased a Canon G16. He has PSE 10, and he has contracted with me for some tutoring. I want to include editing G16 Raw images.
However, I wonder if PSE 10 can open G16 Raw images?My client's computer is not powerful enough to upgrade to PSE 12.
I understand that I can have him convert the Canon G16 Raw images to DNG's using the free Adobe converter and import those into PSE 10, but I was hoping that PSE 10 could use the new 8.2 Raw Converter from Adobe that includes the G16, so it could import the images directly.

I have a G6 Canon digital camera that I primarily shoot JPG images with, and wanted to experiment with raw images.
I took about 15 RAW images the other day with this camera and tried to open up. I went to canon and downloaded their Zoombrowser 6.0, which I can view the RAW files, but it does not edit them. I'm looking for something similar to Adobe Camera raw to hopefully view and edit them.

Feb 19, 2012I'm currently working with Phroshop CS3. I’ve been using for several years a Canon PowerShot G7 and G9 as a second camera. Some days ago I decided to upgrade to the G12. However, for the first time I’ve experimented the following problem. I've shot some RAW images to try the new camera.
I downloaded the image to my computer (a 2007 Dell Precision). I started my Bridge CS3 and only the RAW icon appeared on my screen (no preview). When I try to open any of these images in Camera RAW the software doesn't open it and the following message appears: "Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document".

Jan 3, 2013i need your opinion regarding a phenomena i am observing in the RAW images from Mark iii.The following images appear to be absolutely correct in the camera and when viewed through a picture viewer.I have tried and tested the following scenarios:
1. Used a medium speed kingston CF Card (new) and transferred the images through the USB cable supplied with the camera.2. Thought the card might be slow OR faulty.. used Sandisk Extreme and Extreme Pro SD Cards but same result.3. Transferred SD Card data through the builit in laptop card reader.4. Have directly imported the images from SD Card into Lightroom 4.3, copied the data firstly to laptop HDD and then imported, copied the SD card data to an external HDD and then copied.same result!!5. Have tried the same with both Win7 and Mac OS.6. The DPP sw that came with the camera gives the error of 'Decoding Failed' with these images.
Usually 10-15 images out of 100 give this kinda pattern.

I succesfully imported a few times shortly after purchase of LR5 a couple weeks ago. Saw another thread and tried deleting the Preference file--didn't change anything. Stumped and terribly disappointed--this shouldn't be such a chore just getting images imported.

Mar 30, 2014Just as a pre-amble, I love LR and perform 90% of image processing with it (rest in PS). I use a Canon EOS 5D MKIII shooting in RAW, running LR5 on Win7. My monitor is properly calibrated.
Every so often I view a RAW image with Canon DPP mostly to display the AF point. What I am noticing is that the DPP SW renders the image very different from LR and I tried every LR Profile. In my opinion the DPP rendering is sharper, with less noise and a more natural look. My latest example of the difference in image rendering is from images taken with the Canon 200-400 1.4 zoom lens. This difference in image rendering is after RAW import with no images editing on either application. I just wish there would be a LR profile that yields a similar quality image.

Aug 16, 2013I have a brand new Macbook Pro with Retina Display and am running CS6, shooting with a Mark III in full resolution raw format. Focus is on in camera but when I open the images in Photoshop, they do not appear super sharp when zoomed in.
Is this a display issue or a program issue or something else? In the past I can usually get the images so sharp that I can see every pore and hair.

Oct 23, 2012I cannot get LR4 to open images in CS6 using "Edit in". LR opens CS6 with no problem but no image appears. I have tried everything I know - uninstalled both, reinstalled both, cleared out registry, checked I have latest upgrades and both using same ACR (7.2) etc but it still won't work. Nov 6, 2011I've been running both LR3 and CS5 for months and months, and now suddenly, when I go to "Edit in Photoshop CS5..." an image, it won't open in CS5! It always worked great before. Now, instead, CS5 does nothing, or throws up an open dialogue box of its own. What gives? And, sometimes, after trying to open images to edit them in CS5, I'll notice that CS5 now has, in its "Open Recent..." drop down menu under the File menu, some strange file names with an .ini suffix, or long strings of letters and numbers that mean nothing to me. I'm running Mac OS 10.5.8
