May 8, 2012In Lightroom 3, how do I customize the metadata panel, so I can organize the fields however I would like? It is a hassel to have to scroll through all the fields to get to the ones in which I have to import data.

Jun 10, 2013I just installed LR5 and discovered that the pre-defined panel end marks (PanelTerminator) disappeared with the new release (with the exception of one small decorative image). Is this a bug or did Adobe drop this feature (because, perhaps, they discovered that 99% of all users basically disabled the markers anyway)?

Mar 27, 2013I'm replacing my "standard" end marks with my own logo for when clients are in the studio to view image. What is a good general size for them that isn't too large? How many pixels wide (and yes i know it depends partially on how wide I have the panels set, but for the default settings on the program on a 23" moniter) is best to start with?

Nov 28, 2012I am trying to customize Autocad 2012 ribbon tab. I can't seem to find how to mimic the small arrow that appears in several of the standard menus. For example, in the 3D Solids - Home Tab, the second panel from the left is "3D Solids Home - Mesh" It has a small arrow in the corner that opens up a preferences dialogue box.
How can I add that arrow to a custom panel with that little arrow so that I can add my command to it?

Yes, there are several formats, but it would be very useful to have possibility to define my own. E.g. instead of 2012-10-06 I would like to have 2012_10_06. Now I have to rename all my folders after import, which is not very comfortable. I think the best way to make this perfect would be possibility to use 'Filename Template Editor' (used for renaming files) for folder names too.

Lightroom :: Odd Marks / Pattern On Images?
Mar 8, 2013There are not problems with my RAW files until I put them in lightroom. When they are enlarged to 3:1 ratio they have weird marks on them. They are not pixles, it's a pattern like I have shot it throught a screen. Sometimes the images print with no problems and other times the pattern prints on the image.

Aug 13, 2012i am trying to import a folder of vacation pictures. it has 5000 pictures and there are many subfolders. It imports them where i want but it gives me question marks on all the subfolders. And the subfolders are empty even though it tells me how many pictures are in the folder. I right clicked the question marked folders and point to where they are and it just says they are already there and do i want to merge the folders. In importing i told it to include the subfolders. I have tried this twice and each time the same results. Very frustrating to have to scroll through thousands of pictures.

Mar 11, 2013I copied my catalog from Windows 7 PC (along with all photos) to a new iMac OXS 10.8. Installed Lightroom 4.3 on the iMac (with photos and catalog in same relative locations as previously in the photos folder)
In the Lightroom library on the iMac, all my photos have an exclamation mark in the top corner, and when opening any of them, I get a comment suggesting metadata is in conflict.The actaul metadata in the photos looks fine.Is there a global command with which I can cancel these exclamation marks?

Jul 6, 2012I just copied around 30GB of photos from my Mac laptop to a secondary internal drive that I placed in my Mac desktop. I then copied the Catalog from my laptop and put it in my primary drive on my Mac desktop. I double-clicked on the Catalog and it seemed to open everything up. I clicked on some keywords and it is finding the images. I never used LR for anything other than adding multiple keywords to all of my images.
1. However, the folder section on the left has question marks next to each and every folder that displays in that section. Why does it have the question marks and what do I need to do to remove them?
2. Do I need to do anything else to ensure the transfer is complete?

Oct 12, 2013I would like to know if there is a way to see the names of the brushes used in the History Panel?? All it says is "Add brush stroke" I that if you click on the brushes dots on the photo that you can see which brush is used, but I hate editing with those on, so I turn them off. Which means I have to do several clicks just to see what brushes I have already used. It would be so useful to just be able to see in my history which ones I used especially when you have to stop editing before you are totally finished with the photo and come back to it later.

Now, LR shows 'Sidecar files' - xmp in the metadata panel -- even though the xmp file no longer exists. Is there some way to tell LR that the file is no longer there? and remove the entry from the panel?

I'm attempting to add a caption to a few images while in "Library" mode.
The help file directs me to do it with the 'metadata panel' . I don't see it in my current display so going to "Windows/panels/metadata" and click that. But nothing happens... when I open the menu again I see no check mark in front of "metadata"
I also tried going to "Develop" mode and then using "Windows/panels/metadata", but again checking that does nothing.
Trying the KB combination Ctrl + 4 appears to do nothing as well.I may just not be recognizing the panel when I see it, but I've found nothing that says "metadata" on the current lightroom display window when in library mode.
Possibly I'm in some mode that is preventing the metadata panel from displaying, so tried closing and reopening LR. But closing and reopening appears to have worked not one whit.

Jan 16, 2014With Adobe tech support, I consolidated my LR 2.7 catalog with LR 5 catalog. But when I opened up the older photos in LR5, I had only the L2 2.7 Adjustments available.
Do I need to reimport the older photos? I thought that an yellow triangle with an exclamation point in it would show up to update. Is 2.7 too far a leap to LR5?

Oct 1, 2013In LR5 I am trying to import a folder but it is so deep within my hard drive that there are lots of parent folders I have to click through to get to it. The problem is that the left pane is only a few inches wide and by the time I get closer to the folder I wan, I can't see it. It seems like I should be able to simply widen the panel by clicking and dragging the edge of the panel but no slider arrows appear when I hover there. How do I widen the panel?
