I want to get crisp action stills (baseball, cycling, etc.) by shooting video on a DSLR and pull still images during postproduction in Lightroom 4.
Questions:
Is this possible to get without blurred stills?If so, how may FPS does the DSLR need to be capable of (60 FPS?)Any specific DSLR camera recommendations?
Why isn't there support for making a time lapse video from a sequence of stills? Perhaps with some motion effects like zoom and pan. im amazed that this is not in lightroom.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to figure out how to export stills at separate points in a video, exporting 1 still with 15 seconds of space between them throughout the whole video file.
What I'm trying to do is to export hundreds of images from a movie but with some space between them.
I tried creating a batch that jumps ahead in the timeline 15 sec, but I cannot figure out how to export a frame at that point and then continue jumping forward 15 sec to do the same again. I want this to automate throughout an entire feature film.
We are shooting a movie on HDV video, editing it in Premiere Pro 2.0, and need to print "production stills" pictures from frames of the video. The problem is, they print as "squished" instead of anamorphic wide screen 16x9, which is how the video is shot. (We have Adobe Production Suite Pro 2)
We export the frame as a .bmp in Premiere Pro 2.0, then open it in Photoshop CS2. We can view it on the computer just fine by using IMAGE | PIXEL ASPECT RATIO | HDV ANAMORPHIC. But, of course, the "Pixel Aspect Ratio Correction is for Preview Purposes Only".
How do we "permanently" correct the Pixel Aspect Ratio so we can print the images in their 16x9 anamorphic ratio?
We also need to de-interlace the pictures.
I'm using Photoshop Elements 8. When I try to capture still photos from video clips, the results are not very satisfactory. Usually the stills are very unclear, not sharp like I want them to be. I have to make many attempts to capture a still before I can get one that's halfway clear. Does it have to be this way? What can I do to get consistently clear stills from video?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am new to Lightroom 4 and are having some problems exporting certain file dimensions. I have taken some pictures for a friend who wants to use them on her website. When importing the photos I converted them to dng. I have exported different file dimensions such as 320x240 and 640x480 without any problems. Now she asks for 950 x 340. I can enter the dimensions and export it, but when I check the dimensions on the exported photos I get e.g. 513x340.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI shot loads of images as jpegs as requested. Now the customers says actually I'll need them in TIFF!! As the shoot went on I exported the images to 34 folders with 56 subfolders containing 751 jpeg images. I now need to supply exactly the same but with TIFFs. Now I still have the raw files in my C: and it would be lovely to simply re-import them and export them as TIFFs but without looking at every single raw file and finding where ever the corrosponing jpeg is I have no way of exporting the new TIFFs to sit alongside their jpeg counterparts, if you see what I mean? Is there anyway I can utilise/batch process the raw files and export them to right folders as TIFFs?
View 12 Replies View RelatedI need to LiveTrace 36 frames of a video, and thought an Action might be the best approach to that. I am aware of the 'insert menu option' thing, which I did, but my problem is that it only traces with the default settings. Now I'd like to use the grayscale-preset, but can't figure out how to do that? I even tried to overwrite the Default-preset with the grayscale-settings, which works perfect as long as I use it 'by hand' - as soon as I use it within an action it goes back to the 'old' default, which is pretty useless for this specific job.
I'm not sure how to explain this better, but what I want it to do is batch-convert 36 jpegs into LiveTrace'd ai-files, using the grayscale-preset for the tracing - open, trace as grayscale, save, close. How to achieve that?
I consider myself a more than experienced user of Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, and tend to get really annoyed when running into obstacles like this...
If I am working on a timeline with my main video track, and I am using a second version for my offline reference footage (So online footage is on V1, offline footage on the V2.1 track), when I go into the Axis effect editor or CFX editor, how can I preview my offline footage as a layer so I can check alignment. For example, I may be doing a split screen effect or reposition within Axis or CFX, but I need to see my offline reference so I can have a baseline for my effects.

I am downloading an icc profile from Ilford paper and the instructions say to first download into downloads, then move to Library. This I did. But I cannot find Color Sync to move the profile into. When I did the "search" the list that turned up was not applicable. After that it needs to go to Profiles inorder that Lightroom 4 paper profiles list can receive it and be able to print according to the profile. How will I find Profiles? I have successfully downloaded profiles before.

I used vlc player so far, but it only gives out png's...probably not the best format.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have captured some screenshots for use in a video. In VideoStudio, when the video is paused, the text looks crisp and is easily read. When the video is playing, the text becomes blurry and very hard to read. I have taken the snapshots using the PrintScreen key and pasted the image into Excel where I trimmed them and then used an Add-in called GraphicsExporter to save the images. I have tried saving them as gif, jpg, png, and tiff images and the results are the same. I pull the image into VideoStudio and have it on screen while I narrate. Everything looks great when the image is in the viewing window but when I hit the play button it becomes blurry and some images are unreadable.
Is there something obvious that I am doing wrong? Maybe not using standard cropping margins or some other mechanical practice that I can change?
I am trying out my new cam which can do video in 24p (23.something), and I can edit the clips, all ok. There are just two things I cannot do: Make a still (it's really the 24p material, I used a clip in 60i and stills worked), and changing the time/frame counter to 24 frames. No matter what I do, it will always stay there.

When in LR 4 selecting "Edit inPhoto Shop CS5" for an image I no longer get the edit option box to choose "Edit a Copy with Lightroom Settings" . This seems to have vanished in LR4. I would like to re-enable this option. Right now I get a original file in PS/CS5 without the ability to select some other option.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI use Photoshop frequently to work on photographs that I print for others. Recently I changed the ink I use from the genuine type to the compatible type of ink cartridges. I now purchase ink cartridges from a company called Dealo at [URL].
The problem is that there is a slight difference between the color balance of printed photos between the genuine and the ones from Dealo. Unless you place the two side by side for comparison you probably wouldn't notice but here is my dilemma. Most of the clients I produce photos for are repeat clients, which means they can do side by side comparisons.
I have a ton of photos (taken with a digital camera) that I would like to get developed properly.
Before I do this there are a number of photos that need straightening up etc. To do this I will be using the crop tool.
The thing is though, as soon as I crop a straightened up image then some bits will be lost from the sides. Early on the guy in my local photo shop was explaining how he uses the crop tool in photoshop elements (I have Photoshop 7.0.1) to get the correct proportions for developing.
I just got PS CS3 in the mail, and saw DVD-ROM drive listed in the system requirements. Before I take the plunge and open the box, is a DVD-ROM drive _really_ required to install the program, or just to view video content?

The panel is expanded, no words appear and I am not sure what I did wrong. Keywords are still associated with photos in my library, but the list is gone. how to get my list back?
I had just downloaded and installed v4.2 but the list was there for a few selections.
This has been installed and working since just after CS6 released, now Photoshop won't launch it gives me this "sign in required" screen the only change to my OSX 10.7.5 system is I ran the recent Adobe updates
i bought CS6 directly from Adobe... i guess i could just click on some suspect mystery SignIn screen..
