View 3 RepliesI am using Video Studio Pro X2 to work with standard definition 16:9 .avi files captured from a mini dv camera.
Normally when I finish a project I just create a video file using the Same As Project Settings option to create a .avi file with no compression for playback on my PC.
I tried using the youtube uploader and was shocked how poor the video quality was...In the past I have experimented with creating a video file for youtube but my video's always appeared to be jumpy and miss frames once uploaded and took a long time to load, I read somewhere once to save the video as a HD .wmv file which did improve the picture quality a lot but didn't solve the missing frames or the long load time.
How to create a video file for youtube using Video Studio X2?
how you extract a still frame from a video file in Photoshop CS6.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to figure out how to export stills at separate points in a video, exporting 1 still with 15 seconds of space between them throughout the whole video file.
What I'm trying to do is to export hundreds of images from a movie but with some space between them.
I tried creating a batch that jumps ahead in the timeline 15 sec, but I cannot figure out how to export a frame at that point and then continue jumping forward 15 sec to do the same again. I want this to automate throughout an entire feature film.
We are shooting a movie on HDV video, editing it in Premiere Pro 2.0, and need to print "production stills" pictures from frames of the video. The problem is, they print as "squished" instead of anamorphic wide screen 16x9, which is how the video is shot. (We have Adobe Production Suite Pro 2)
We export the frame as a .bmp in Premiere Pro 2.0, then open it in Photoshop CS2. We can view it on the computer just fine by using IMAGE | PIXEL ASPECT RATIO | HDV ANAMORPHIC. But, of course, the "Pixel Aspect Ratio Correction is for Preview Purposes Only".
How do we "permanently" correct the Pixel Aspect Ratio so we can print the images in their 16x9 anamorphic ratio?
We also need to de-interlace the pictures.
I'm using Photoshop Elements 8. When I try to capture still photos from video clips, the results are not very satisfactory. Usually the stills are very unclear, not sharp like I want them to be. I have to make many attempts to capture a still before I can get one that's halfway clear. Does it have to be this way? What can I do to get consistently clear stills from video?

I record video tutorials about Photoshop (so, screen captures) and edit/combine the clips inside Photoshop CS6 in Win 7/64; Photoshop's new video talent is nice. I record 852x480px at 15 fps with FastStone Capture and save in WMV. I want to show the finished video tutorial on Youtube. There are several things baffling me when editing video in Photoshop CS6.
My original records (according to MediaInfo):
Software: FastStone Capture
Overall bit rate mode : Variable
[code]....
The result looks very nice when i play it locally in VLC. It looks like the original WMV. But: When i upload the Photoshop-version to YouTube, the video looks very badly "upsampled" and blurred. It looks much worse than the uploaded WMV original. If you like, you can compare the two videos from the same source online:
Uploaded WMV clip, looking good (set player to 480 p): URL....
Rendered in Photoshop CS6, looking bad (set player to 480 p): URL.....I do like the resolution of 852x480 and would like to keep it. If not possible, i have to record tutorials in 1280x720, even though icons and menus look too small. So far i have not tested it.
I searched my folder C:Program Files (x86)Common FilesAdobedynamiclinkmediaserver1.0. There is a lot in it which i don't understand, but some file names include "MPEG", "AVI", "Adobe QT Server" etc. I think there is no Quicktime installed on my machine; i try to avoid it as it does many different things to the system and is obnoxious.
My questions:
- When aiming for a YouTube cast, could i stay with 852x480 (at 15 fps), or doesn't it make sense? (I like that size.) If 852x480 is not ok, what is the lowest resolution for getting good looking presentations on Youtube?
- Why does the Adobe Media Encoder in my Photoshop CS6 only offer the formats H.264 and DPX? Can i get more? (Free, pay.)
- Do i need to install Quicktime? How could i do this with less intrusive QT behaviour?
- Should i record more fps in FastStone Capture? (I don't find more fps necessary when looking at the original and when looking at the uploaded *original*.)
I've got some AVIs to upload to YouTube. Thing is doesn't X2 have a function to allow you to upload video files from there? It's got the YouTube icon but for the life of me I can't get it to recognize my files.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm working on a project that requires some interaction controlling video. I've used the piece of code from this thread [URL] and it works like a charm. But I'm looking at option of using youTube video for the same interaction.
So on creationComplete, I've added,
var vid = sym.$("holder");
vid.html('<iframe width="640" height="360" id="video1" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/o2l_zZOpSxk" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="0" controls="controls"></iframe>');
i do not know much about color spaces. But I do know that different forms of media require using different colors (RGB, CMYK, all that stuff).
wrong color space or exporting formats.
What do I need to do to get the final video that I exported to look exactly the same (in terms of color) when it's uploaded on YouTube? Strictly just the color, because I understand quality goes down when uploaded to YouTube.
I work in PS CS2, and I would like to know some basic techniques for "cleaning" this jpegs as being extracted from a dvd often look quite fuzzy, so that they look quality enough to print on a larger scale! edit: oh yeah and can someone also redirect to a good tool for capturing stills? I used vlc player so far, but it only gives out png's...probably not the best format.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to insert stills into my project and I keep getting the "file format mismatch" error. I've tried JPG, PNG and even bitmap formats, I've tried different pictures from different cameras/sources and the result is the same every time.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI have captured some screenshots for use in a video. In VideoStudio, when the video is paused, the text looks crisp and is easily read. When the video is playing, the text becomes blurry and very hard to read. I have taken the snapshots using the PrintScreen key and pasted the image into Excel where I trimmed them and then used an Add-in called GraphicsExporter to save the images. I have tried saving them as gif, jpg, png, and tiff images and the results are the same. I pull the image into VideoStudio and have it on screen while I narrate. Everything looks great when the image is in the viewing window but when I hit the play button it becomes blurry and some images are unreadable.
Is there something obvious that I am doing wrong? Maybe not using standard cropping margins or some other mechanical practice that I can change?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying out my new cam which can do video in 24p (23.something), and I can edit the clips, all ok. There are just two things I cannot do: Make a still (it's really the 24p material, I used a clip in 60i and stills worked), and changing the time/frame counter to 24 frames. No matter what I do, it will always stay there.

I'm creating the channel design for my YouTube channel, and I want to make a small part coming out of the channel frame (that noisy gray frame on the channels where the view and subscriber count are shown), but I don't know how to create a similar effect. Additionally, is there a correct name for that section?
I have CS6 extended.
I need to pan and zoom over a still image to create a short video. I remember the process was to mark a track over the still, with points along this path that required time to transit and the degree of zoom. On playback, it was like a video.
Think of the still as a hillside shot with a road winding from top to bottom. The video captured a zoomed in frame of just the road. Eventually, at the bottom, the frame slowly zoomed out displaying most of the still. How do I do this?
I am working on a video piece and I need to mask out a moving figure throughout the entire video, what is the best way to to this? I know that I can import the video frames to layers in CS3 and then create a mask on each frame, but there are thousands of frames - and when I render the video from the animation it is slow to run in quicktime. Even if I were able to edit each frame, it seems like there should be a better way.
